  1. Funny thing is, people complained about that as well. There never will be someone in the booth everyone likes. Some will have really big issues with who ever calls a game.
  2. He's forbidden by the team to tell the truth about what is going on in the field, so what the f*** is he supposed to do in the booth?
  3. Back in the day they had phone books, Harry's number was listed when he moved into Water Tower Place.
  4. I know youre joking, but I bet he was.
  5. That's nice. I too had an encounter with Farmio, and he was really a sweet guy.
  6. That's why I think there is more to this story. No one seems to be noticing the White Sox encouraging him to pursue the job. It might be that Brooks has been butt hurt ever since Jason disagreed with Brooks' description of their negotiations.
  7. Its one thing if its football or basketball games. It's another if its a baseball job. As I stated before, JR refused to even consider letting KW and RH out of their contracts until Tony told him to fire them.
  8. The White Sox release said they encouraged him to check into the Detroit offer. Would that make you feel you had job security?
  9. When youre as bad as the Sox, people do tune in for the broadcast. Harry and Jimmy was the best show on TV when the Sox were awful.
  10. JR let perhaps the greatest basketball PBP guy ever, Jim Durham, walk from the Bulls.
  11. I would hate for one of the first trades Chris Getz ever makes would be trading Robert. You can't mess that up like the Marlins did with Miggy. Let's see what kind of driving skills he has before giving him keys to the Lambo.
  12. Jason and Steve's best year was 2021 when the Sox were good and they could talk about the game. When the games went bad, it's a different world, they couldn't go all Harry and Jimmy Piersall over them. The broadcast goes off into other areas. They next announcer the Sox get will be just as far up Brooks Boyer's ass as Pedro is up Getz'. He'll be going off on the one hit Koey Lee got a few months back.
  13. Jason wasn't the reason I watched the Sox, but when he wasn't there, and it wasn't Kasper on the call, the downgrade was easy to notice. He did have a lot of fans.
  14. For those of you who think announcers aren't important, see, Caray, Harry.
  15. This is more a firing than Jason just moving to greener pastures. Toronto wanted to talk to KW about a job as their president. JR said no. RH supposedly tried to resign after LaRussa was brought on. JR supposedly said he would hold him to his contract, and wouldn't be able to pursue other MLB jobs until it ran its course. Detroit says, hey we'd like to talk to Jason.....the Sox don't ever want to hold Jason back, you should talk to the Tigers.
  16. When JR's network takes over the games he'll have Gordo, McKnight, and Mike Huff with his ridiculous beard.
  17. It won't, but it's a sign there is something so rotten, a lifelong White Sox fan with his dream job, now would rather be in Detroit.
  18. If my boss encouraged me to pursue a job with a competitor, I would believe he was trying to tell me something. The Sox statement reminded me of the time Ron Schueler encouraged Jeff Torborg to listen to what the Mets had to say.
  19. This guy was a huge White Sox fan. I can't imagine how much money he needed to make himself a Tigers fan instead. I thought unless he went Joe Buck and went national, he was in the booth for 30 years.
  20. Probably after an exhaustive search, they will decide on the very poor man's Chip Caray, Mr. Conor McKight, saying they did it for the fans. It would take at least a season for someone from the outside to get to know the team.
  21. To me, this is shocking. If it were to do the game of the week or something like that, it would be a different story. But while under contract to go to Detroit? C'mon man, there is some more White Sox dysfunction.
  22. Steve was unavailable.
  23. Yeah, I don't know why Jason would bolt to Detroit. He loves the Sox. Loves Steve. Something had to piss him off. When he was just starting, I thought he was trying to do a 2 hour comedy bit in 20 minutes. But he grew on me. This is another Sox loss.
  24. The amazing thing about the huge ticket sales staff is the last few years I was a season ticketholder, the attention I received from the staff was nowhere near what it was the first 15-20 years..
  25. They do have a point especially with Pedro. What a phony. This guy might be worse than Terry Bevington. They got rid of LaRussa, and didn't upgrade. It boggles my mind how anyone would consider KW or RH for a personnel position ever again.
