  1. Yes, they would inherit his total control.
  2. With as many times Pedro and even Getz have mentioned how TA should be back to normal production next season, they have painted themselves into a cornet. A contract dump for a lottery ticket or declining shows they were lying.
  3. I was thinking pick up the option and try to trade him or hope for a bounce back and trade him next deadline, but is that worth the $9 or 10 million gamble? I’d say see if anyone will give you anything for him before the option is exercised, if no, just let him go. If he’s good next year he will be gone anyway, and you don’t want to lock in long term to a guy who is injured every year, can’t run balls out, is over 30, and has off the field drama anyway. I used to love this guy. He has disappointed me in almost every way.
  4. Don't do this to Caulfield. He'll get so excited he might have a grabber.
  5. There are people who think Prime Time's son is a better pro QB prospects than Williams. Prime and his son package deal to the Bears?
  6. I don't think TA wants to be a White Sox. His play picked up a week or two before the deadline, but once the deadline passed, he sucked again, but just letting him go is tricky. I'd probably pick up the option and try to trade him or hope for a bounce back.
  7. I get that, but how does Pedro get to tell everyone they failed.
  8. I just wonder what is going through these coaches minds when Pedro says to their faces they weren't good enough they are gone, but for some reason, his performance got him another year.
  9. Its not a bad move. He will probably be nothing, but lets see. It's not like they have no room for him.
  10. Peter King thinks if the Bears lose Thursday, Eberflus might be done. I think being the HC and DC gets him the whole season.
  11. Before the rebuild, during the rebuild, even when Shields was pitching, I would stay for the whole game no matter how out of hand it became. I can't do it anymore, and I don't attend near the same amount of games I used to attend. It just as become so unwatchable. I'm sure Korey Lee is a nice kid, but how does any non pitcher get to go 9-90 in his career and still play most of the time?
  12. It's a scary thought.
  13. Lovie got canned after a 10-6 season. Any Bears coach goes 10-6 now might get a statue.
  14. The only good thing about getting him is it will keep them from rushing the kid. His below .300 OBP will fit right in. Might as well pay up for a 0.5 bWAR.
  15. We are going to control both sides of the ball. I was really excited when Pedro said that....He accomplished none ot the things he said he would accomplish. Yes, blame the players, they deserve it, but he does too. If you have more experience in the big leagues playing than Pedro has managing, you can do whatever you want. If it's the same or less, he will try to be the tough guy.
  16. Unless you just love having your ass kissed, I can't see how someone above him can watch this guy every day and conclude he needs to be the manager. He tells you how incompetent he is when he isn't showing you how incompetent he is. Let him go back to the Royals.
  17. They can get guys desperate for jobs, but one year, and basically the entire coaching staff gets cleaned out, and a guy who everyone knows will be fired probably within a year, is going to be a hard sell for quality coaches who have shown their worth. That's why if you want a quality coaching staff, you need to bring in a new manager. Look for more KC castaways.
  18. He's intimidated by vets, but can be a bully to rookies and he basically admits it. No good. He is a bad manager.
  19. Dick Allen replied to Flash's topic in Pale Hose Talk
What he screws up is any progress the team can make in 2024. They will need more than some.
  20. I didn’t understand burning the time out. Kicking the FG does put a little more pressure on them, but I’m not going to say going for it was a disastrous idea. That defense had given up almost 100 points on less than 2 games at that point, and you make it, you pretty much guarantee victory. The play call at least wasn’t Kmet taking the snap. I was there. I know I shouldn’t be, but I am still shocked they lost.
  21. So never in Chicago sports history have the Bulls, Bears, Cubs, White Sox, and Blackhawks all played .500 the same season.
  22. Is he willing to move to catcher?
  23. I get that, and I mentioned it a while back, but if they next year fire Pedro, which seems at least 95% likely, the fans who knew he was no good now aren't going to give them any credit for it. Fire Pedro. Bring someone else in. Fans won't expect wins right away, and if somehow it happens, the front office bought itself credibility.
  24. It really makes no sense. These guys didn't do their job, but Pedro did? The way Pedro talked about it, it almost seemed like he's oblivious to the fact that he has no chance of returning with most teams. He's not a leader. He's a brown noser who will say anything to keep a job.
