The Mariners have 2 eight game winning streaks this month. The Sox had 1 seven game winning streak during Rick Hahn's 11 seasons as a GM.

They thought they had jobs for life or until JR croaked.

I really doubt JR hires a President of Baseball Operations. He refused to give KW that title.

If it all went down like Bob reported, neither KW or RH had an inkling their job was on the line. They will be able to tell their grand kids one day they were so bad, they got fired by Jerry Reinsdorf.

If Tony is consulting, maybe he can get Dave Stewart to GM again. They teamed up to do wonders in AZ.

On the bright side, if Getz is the GM, he won't be in development anymore. That's a positive.

I'd go with Randy Flores assitant GM with the Cardinals. He has helped draft and develop a lot of players, and he doesn't have to have a top 4 pick to do so.

According to the Rosenthal column, most execs he spoke to consider it a sleeping giant, and one of the better GM jobs in baseball. You have to try to get fired. You play in the worst division in baseball. And you can outspend everyone in your division.

The press release says single hire. Moore and Getz, while probably net zero or negative, still is two.
