  1. The mistake made with the rebuild was having the same dopes that got you into a situation of having a bad major league team with nothing in the minors were in charge of the rebuild. It’s a minor miracle they had a year and a half of some success. Any team that hires KW or RH will get what they deserve for not paying attention. The only thing is, they won’t let it go on as long as JR.
  2. TA not running. If he was a rookie, Pedro would be a tough guy and bench him.
  3. If the Sox lose, they are officially eliminated. Who says they didn’t play meaningful games in September?
  4. Our guy who was hired because he was supposed to know the team, is talking to reporters in Detroit trying to figure things out. Meanwhile, other teams’ execs are scouting in Japan. this has been a Mickey Mouse operation. Nothing changes with Getz.
  5. The 2013 team was pretty bad. 2017 or 2018 they lost 100. 2007 was awful. They lost 99 only because of a decent September. This seems like the worst because I thought they had a legit shot at the division. That was over in a couple of weeks.
  6. The problem with Kopech is he can't throw strikes. How does making him a reliever fix that problem?
  7. The Tennessee Volunteers found that out for us. Up until this point, since high school, so 3 years in college, he has pitched 202 innings and made 13 starts, and has been injured at least 4 times.
  8. i had season tickets for 30 years or so. I've seen a lot of bad baseball. But I always stayed for the whole game, even when it was hopeless, even when James Shields gave up 7 runs in the first inning. But starting last year, there was just something different about this awfulness. i would leave games in the 5th inning. I didn't renew my tickets. That turned out to be a good move. It was even worse this year. I still want them to win, but knew this season was over in April. They don't want to throw us a bone, and commit to being good. JR said hiring Getz was for the fans. If the fans had a say, Chris Getz would not be working for the White Sox in any role. More of the same. I wish MLB owners would put some pressure on JR to sell. This is a huge market. He is turning a lot of people away from baseball.
  9. And if for some reason they are good, you can commit to a 2025 plan in September and get playoff tickets. Obviously, a miracle would have to occur for that. It is insane to me they are raising prices.
  10. It's fitting the team that employed Terry Bevington as a manager for more than one season, would bring back this clown after every bit of evidence shows he's way over his head.
  11. Every error TA makes seems to cost the Sox a game.
  12. I wonder if Getz has any regrets committing to Pedro for another season. They lay down immediately. How can he be back? You would think with only 30 of these jobs in the world, you would have to earn your keep. Apparently all Pedro has to do is tell the press that Getz and JR are great, and competitive and want to win. If they really wanted to win, Pedro is an easy call.
  13. I would say they have checked out, but that would require them to have checked in at some point.
  14. With Robert out, why would a White Sox fan watch this game?
  15. Seby is a 0.0 fWAR and a -0.5 bWAR. If you are Rick Hahn and Kenny Williams, that is a high bar to get over, but most GMs can do better.
  16. Exactly. He is a 10 and 5 guy. I still think that means full no trade protection.
  17. Kind of surprised they just didn’t pull the plug on Yaz. But maybe they see an opportunity. I doubt he gets claimed. The Sox can outright him. I think since he’s been outrighted before he can refuse, but if he does, I think he forfeits his contract, and the $115k left this season probably is a significant number to Seby. I didn’t know he was 30.
  18. It’s also nice to know this guy, who will obviously be a pillar in the White Sox rotation , has never pitched 72 innings in a season.
  19. The fact is you seem to be fine with the process of having a minority go through an interview where the team interviewing them is just doing it to meet some rule. You aren’t looking at the bigger problem where black people aren’t playing baseball and as a result not getting into roles where they should be considered as a GM. I don’t like the Getz hire, but it doesn’t piss me off that JR didn’t “interview” Frank Thomas for the job, he wanted it, to meet some quanta if he wasn’t going to be hired. The fact is there are not a lot of minority candidates out there that one can think of offhand. Do you have any names? Would you interview for a job there was no chance you would get if the reason it was even scheduled was to meet some rule?
  20. His ERA has gone up 7.50 on the same level since joining the White Sox. Must be the surgery, right? BTW, he’s almost 25 himself. Burger with his body type and injury, probably won’t have a long career, but he’s going to be cheap for the best part of it.
  21. The prospect has 5 starts in AA and an 11.42 ERA. Burger had 5 years of control. It’s a bad trade.
