This one makes me sad even though it may turn out OK. Jake was fun, and he was starting to take walks.

Fegan on Score @1225 pm to discuss Sox remaining moves

He's also a far superior talent than anyone they will acquire. Trading him now would be dumb. The only people who would like it are those who would enjoy rebuilding every year. At least if they are trying to win, there is some pressure on the front office. -

The guys you trade for can suck, and also get hurt. -

Robert isn't any of those guys. And he's signed longer. -

Funny thing is, the guys you complain about were the guys the Sox got dumping their good players before. Robert is on another planet. -

Trading Robert now will only backfire. They have him. They have Montgomery. Gonzalez looks like a solid draft pick. They should land a real good player next draft. They have Cease. If Liam is OK, he's pretty good. You don't have to be really great to make it interesting in the AL Central. Maybe Colas develops. Maybe these catchers turn out OK. Maybe Vaugh breaks out. Maybe, and this is a stretch, Eloy can DH 140 games., There is no reason an average GM and front office couldn't make this team an 82-87 win team. And that should be good enough. -

If you think this White Sox front office won’t be able to field a competitive team in the AL Central for the duration of Roberts contract, why would you want to see what the same dopes could trade him for now? -

Just never rip Worth. It’s the most important town in IL. Without it the state would be Worthless. -

He was hurt, but got back just when the college season paused. So theoretically, he was healthy. Then he pitched at the alternate site without incident. He then was lights out for 6 innings, then got hurt in the playoffs. If the guy can't pitch 6 innings, again, how can he be a starter?
-
I think he showed he was. He went to the alternate site and threw. But, in the playoff game, hurt again.
-
17 games they played in the season. Crochet pitched 3 innings of relief because he began the season with a sore shoulder. If Crochet was not hurt, explain a future MLB ace pitching only 3 innings of relief and only making 1 appearance in those 17 games, with 42 pitches.
-
He threw 3 innings in 2020 because he had a sore shoulder. He was a spot starter in college. The point is he has never shown, ever, the ability to be a starter from a physical standpoint. I know you think you are Mr. Trainer and probably could get him throwing 200 innings a year on the right program, but I doubt it. He's always going to be an injury waiting to happen if it hasn't happened. He is what most thought Chris Sale would be. A guy who is always hurt. Sale defied it for a long while, but now, he's always hurt.
-
He also was hurt in college, and got hurt after pitching a few innings in 2020. Since 2019, he's pitched 81 innings in college, the majors and rehab stints, and he's hurt again It wasn't the Sox fault he was hurt at Tennessee. I guess you can blame them for his injury in 2020, but I fail to see if he was at the alternate site throwing enough to be a starteer, how he would have stayed healthy.

Bobs notes, The White Sox picked up zero cash in their trades. A couple veterans complained about lack of accountability on the White Sox. Aaron Bummer is off limits. And Tony LaRussa is back evaluating minor leaguers. Accountability isn’t t a probelm as we all know. As much as I dislike Tony, I am glad he is healthy again.

70 innings under his belt, at least 3 injuries. Was hurt his last season in college as well. How in the world would he be able to hold up as a starter

Guardians at Sox Game 3 Sat 610 pm
Dick Allen replied to caulfield12's topic in 2023 Season in Review
When the Sox were good in 2021, they walked a lot. A good percentage of that was Yaz walking at a ridiculous rate, but still. I wonder if any team has gone from that to what they have become, not walking, high chase rate, so quickly. Especially with most of the same players. -
This is all true but really weird. A. You would think the fact you get more bang for your buck developing players would appeal to JR. B. He fired Roland Hemond after an 85 win season because the minor league cupboard was bare, and it cost them any chance at the 85 playoffs. Now he just doesn't give a f*** how bad the minor league system is.
-
He supposedly has a rocket arm. He will be with the White Sox next week. I really think if they can't trade Yaz, they will release him.

I just think if KW was driving the bus on these deals, it would be an easy leak for a Rosenthal or Morosi.
