  1. Sox have an off day tomorrow, Cubs have a DH. I hope LaRussa manages like it.
  2. We will find out after the game when the go on the restricted list.
  3. Sox have 2 non vaxxed players that will miss the Toronto series.
  4. Josh Harrison played for the Tigers in 2019. They lost 114 games. His offensive stats are almost identical this year in close to the same amount of play. He was released be one of the worst teams ever. The Sox move him up to the 2 hole.
  5. 61-57 plus 1-3 in the playoffs since the All Star break last year. It’s a mediocre team as is, but they think they are a WS contender. Sign bad players. Make a bad managerial hire. Fall in love with your worst players. It’s all happened, and it’s a mess. Like was stated last night, they almost assuredly will eventually blame this on the hitting coach, fire him, and think problem solved. But it won’t be solved until they are done with this mediocre season, with the media taking shots at LaRussa, where he tells JR he’s tired and wants to go home. That will give them a chance at fixing one problem. Another should be RH/KW. I do believe KW is ready to retire. His wife retired. JR appears to think KW is the greatest talent evaluator ever, so he might beg him to stay, but hopefully he doesn’t, and they pull a Bulls and get rid of Hahn who seems like a nice guy, obviously can speak with anyone and is very bright, but not very good at building baseball teams. Then hire someone who has a clue. Someone who realizes Gavin Sheets isn’t going into the HOF. Someone who realizes what this team really needs. There’s still enough talent to be pretty awesome with a couple of shrewd moves, but the people who are capable of making them aren’t currently employed at 35th and Shields. That has been proven time and time again. Although I am sure he feels for his former players, somewhere Ricky Renteria has to be laughing his ass off.
  6. I guess Tony doesn’t think Gabe is legit.
  7. Yeah nothing like being thrown out by 20 feet. Great call by Super Joe.
  8. 2016 Jimmy Rollins got released around this point of the season. He was done. He had a .624 OPS. That is higher than Sheets, Eloy, Harrison, Moncada, Engel.
  9. And AJP will soon will be PNG with the White Sox organization.
  10. I don't think its his fault, but you are probably right, they have to do something. They won't fire themselves or LaRussa.
  11. This game against a team that gave up 20 runs to the Reds their last game, was basically over in the 1st inning. Let that one sink in.
  12. When has Tony outmatched a counterpart since he returned? One of the worst hires ever. They pretty much had their choice of anyone available for one of the few times ever, and they hire a guy who thinks it's either 1983 or 2008.
  13. If you think the great Johnny Cueto should have been pulled TLR will tell you that you are not a White Sox fan.
  14. Dick Allen replied to Texsox's topic in SLaM
They have gun free zones at the NRA convention, including when a certain former reality host will be speaking. Why? Haven’t we been told the more guns the safer we all are?
  15. They are only $60 plus fees.
  16. 4 White Sox MVPs in the history of the franchise. 3 of them have been 1B. It's incredible his hatred of the position.
  17. I think it was the last 3 or 4 seasons coming into this one where the Sox lead the league in hamstring ILs. Overall, I think they were still below average in days lost. But it cost Thomas his job, and who knows, maybe if they knew he'd be gone, they may have drafted his son. But there is a problem here.
  18. I think everyone knew the White Sox offseason was anemic this year. Looking in hindsight, it appears almost any move they made would have been bad. The problem I had though, and still do, is the fact they didn't go for the jugular. There is still 120 games left, so they can turn it around, however, if you are sleepwalking now, what are you going to be doing in the dog days of August?
  19. If they were going to go old school for a manager, they should have gone with Buck. Buck is really good for a few years when he get a job then his act gets old. But there is a difference. You saw Buck on TV. He sounds exactly like he did 20 years ago. You watch Tony get interviewed now and compare it to 20 years ago. It's a lot different. I will admit, I wouldn't have wanted Tony 20 years ago either.
  20. I almost feel the organization as a whole has determined what they have done is already enough. I'm a partial season ticketholder. I hold a small weekend plan. I used to be a full season guy in premium seats. The way they have just ignored season ticketholders reminds me of 2006k, when as a 15 year season ticketholder, my rep wanted me to move back a couple of rows, just because. The year before, they couldn't do enough for you. There were numerous parties, we got to take batting practice. Now, apparently, they think they must have won again. I am being totally ignored, and most things season ticketholders used to receive, are gone. The players are playing the same way.
  21. Considering he was hurt when signed , I doubt they were able to get insurance on him.
  22. Played Shoeless Joe, Henry Hill, and was once married to Mark Grace's ex wife.
  23. They will get a couple hours of beer sales before they call it. Good chance even if it isn't raining at 710 they don't start. Also a good chance they already know this one won't be played, but as long as they can sell a few thousand $14 Modelos, it's worth opening the gates.
  24. Times have changed. Apparently now it's the hitting coach's fault if a roster is full of ground ball hitters. We are only a decade removed from constant calls for Greg Walkers head for lift and pull.
  25. Moncada bunted for a double on Sunday.
