  1. Don't give them any ideas. I wonder how much Guaranteed Rate pays for their advertisement on the grass in front of the dugouts.
  2. It's a little different. You have to go to the grocery store and buy food. You have to buy necessities. You don't have to buy $12.25 Miller Lites at a Sox game. For shit you don't have to buy, prices really haven't risen that much. Cases of beer cost about the same. I was just wondering where others' tipping points were. Again, I went yesterday, maybe not the best day to observe, but there weren't people over indulging like I have seen at just about every game I have attended.
  3. The other thing is, everything is cashless, so even at the stands the credit card reader is asking for a tip done by percentage, so you are paying more of a tip, and tipping everyone for anything. Maybe for $12.25 a Miller Lite, they can pay their workers a reasonable wage to do their job. And that isn't the White Sox.
  4. This is the whole point about my post. It seemed to me people weren't stacking empty beer cups, or leaving every inning to go buy another food item. At some point, and it hit that point with me a few years ago, the price of this stuff has to matter. I remember thinking years ago, how would they ever justify a $10 beer. Now that would be a deal. But most of us have a breaking point where we just say, no way. They can price it wherever they want. I don't even know if the White Sox have a lot of say in it. But they need to be careful, or they will be throwing a lot of food out.
  5. I attended my first game of the season yesterday and was astonished at the increase in prices. Domestic beer $12.25, Modelo $14.25. Hot dog $7.50, sausage $8.50. Usually I partake very little, but yesterday I noticed more than usual seemed to join me. It could just be it was so cold. It could be that it was Easter and many had a big meal already or were planning one later. But there has to be a breaking point. Maybe most just go to a couple of games a year, and look at it like special occasion. I guess my question is will there be a point when you say sorry too much? No one in Chicago pays less for beer than sports venue. No one charges more. Just a total money grab.
  6. Those percentages in the bottom right, who the fuck cares and how can their accuracy be checked?
  7. If Cease has any command, he is going to have a pretty good game.
  8. Yes. And the White around the dirt at home plate is doing weird things.
  9. I was on an MLBTR chat and they were discussing the next Trout. No one mentioned Robert. When I questioned it, the dope said he had not shown he could make adjustments. I asked him if he saw his 2021 version vs. his 2020 version. No response. This guy, if he stays healthy, can be the greatest White Sox of all time. No question in my mind.
  10. He hopped of the truck yesterday fine. Lopez almost screwed himself up hopping off his truck. That has to be the dumbest idea having the players enter like that. It will end when someone gets hurt. It should end before someone gets hurt.
  11. Their tickets are so expensive, some long timers have dropped out just because of that. It's possible the list is that long, but if it is, they are people who when it's their turn to buy will pass.
  12. He was bad against RHP last year, but did improve toward the end. You don't put up the numbers Vaughn put up in college not being able to hit RHP. He will figure it out. But in order to do that, he will need to face them.
  13. I heard LaRussa on the radio on Sunday saying Pollock had a Grade 1 strain and was going to be out 10 or 11 days.
  14. As someone who has had season tickets for many years, once a full season, now a 20 game plan, it's been my experience the better the team, the worse the customer service, which if it was a choice, I would take the better team. When the team sucks, they get back to to right away. They have season ticketholder events, and give away gifts and things like free patio parties. One year we even got to take batting practice. Now you get nothing and like it.
  15. Good luck to Harry and a big thank you to the donor and the donors family.
  16. Considering how many teams had nothing to lose, color me shocked. I thought he might bounce to a couple of teams and then clear. Hopefully he makes the teams that passed regret it.
  17. It doesn’t matter if Pollock was a LF, CF, 3B…whatever. He was camped for that one and missed it. It happens, There are tons of HS kids who if they were in the same position, would have made the catch. If it were Eloy or Vaughn or Sheets, we would all be saying burn their gloves. Pollock isn’t Clemente out there, but he isn’t that bad. Just horrible timing to botch one.
  18. Iam was bad. Bummer was a bummer, but Pollock has to catch that. Except for not getting hurt, that was Eloy-esque
  19. It should be a routine play for anyone who plays in a league with a minimum salary of 700k.
