Leury with a .193 OBP leading off, Moncada hitting 3rd with a .176 OBP. Runs were going to be scarce.
-
He is leading off with an OBP under .200. But Tony has a guy like you whipped. If Leury gets a couple of hits, Tony is a genius. If he's 0 fer, hes only there because TA is injured.

Leury Garcia leading off an MLB game you are trying to win is a joke. One of Tony's faults is he has this chip on his shoulder where he has to show people how much smarter he is than they are. That's why you get guys playing crazy positions, batting in spots in the order no sensible person would place them, and falling in love with the worst players on his teams. Many of his teams were so stacked, they were able to overcome this personality trait. This one doesn't appear to be one of them.

Next four months…keys to survival that won’t cost as much

He's been getting on base at a really nice clip even though it's seemed he's been an easy out for most of the year. It kind of surprised me when he was asked in the spring about his future, and he wasn't committed to playing at all, or playing with the White Sox if he played You never know what his true age really is. Contreras admitting to being older than listed. El Duque was a fossil when he played for the Sox. If Jose is 38 or 39, would anyone be surprised?. Chances are he will come back, but if not, I really think Vaughn is about to take off. He'd be fine at 1B every day. -
Last night was easily his best managed game of the season. He was on que with the bullpen and pinch hitting. The batting order was fine. Maybe the best game he's managed since he came back.

Probably Tony's best game of the season. -

Maybe there is a reason the Sox swing early and often. They are 11-3 in games under 3 hours. -

I was watching MLBN, and starting June 10th, the White Sox have the easiest schedule in baseball the rest of the season, based on current winning percentage. -
This has always been how LaRussa has been. The 2 things you have always been able to count on Tony is to play guys in crazy positions, Ron Kittle once played CF, and fall in love with the worst guys on the roster. It's like he is trying to play I am smarter than you. When he won it wasn't because of that, it was because of his best players.

I have thought this also. I think Tony "walks away" if the Sox win the WS or don't make the playoffs. I think losing in the playoffs makes it probably better than 50/50 he returns, although why they would bring him back is really silly. It's silly enough he's still there.

The Sox could go 125-37 and Jack would be just as miserable about the team as he would be if they went 37-125.

Sox vs Blue Jays 6:07, Giolito vs Gausman
Dick Allen replied to reiks12's topic in 2022 Season in Review
Yes it's on Mendick. Reese does have to hustle there, he didn't, and the argument that Mendi k is faster than him so he shouldn't score can be wrong because he can sprint through home plate. Mendick sliding will slow him up. -

When he saw it was going to be close, Mendick has to stop to make sure the run scores. -

He wouldn't have made it anyway, but he has to hustle. -

They are playing like it's the 7th game of the WS. -

Cease and Graveman to Restricted List; Crick Up
Dick Allen replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That's how I used to feel, but now knowing you can still get it and spread it fully vaxxed, if someone doesn't want to get vaxxed, I really don't care anymore. I would think if you aren't vaxxed you would probably be a bit more careful. I know a few weeks after I got fully vaxxed I wasn't so careful, and got lucky I didn't get it. -
He actually took a few steps as he got to the dugout. Messed up groins suck. Falling asleep is difficult. He's traveling with the team so it appears it isn't as. Catastrophic as possible.

Graveman and Cease do not get paid for the games in Toronto.

Might as well have one extra for a 3 game series. Plus they need to add another for TA. -
LaRussa anthem story making national headlines
Dick Allen replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The problem is the people who refer to themselves as patriots think what Kapler is doing should be a jailable offense. I don't even know why anyone would even think it's a big deal. Go to a game and check the tens during the anthem. There are more than a coupleof personnel not on the field or at the top step of the dugout. If Kapler didn't mention he was doing this, the people complaining would never have noticed. -
There is something flawed there. He is no plus defender, but he's not that bad.
