Dick Allen

So unless he's Ohtani the rest of the season, JR is taking the buyout.

Does anyone really think the Sox will pick up Robert's option if JR isn't convinced he's almost guaranteed to be a $30 million player next season?

I think they hold on.

The Master is on the move.

I understand the concept of picking up his option, but if they don't trade him and he's not spectacular the rest of the season, JR isn't picking it up. He doesn't like paying good players. He certainly isn't going to give $20 million to a question mark if he can easily avoid it.

If they can get what they got for Slater, that's a pretty big win for Getz overall.

For over 50 years now, I have always thought he was the only guy that looked cool wearing a helmet in the field. Everyone else looked like a dork.

The only way they would pick it up is if they didn't trade him and he played like Aaron Judge the rest of the season.

Not getting him yesterday might have already cost the Phillies 1 WAR.

You knew something bad was up with his message, then all the tributes. Sad. RIP.

I agree, but as Hawk once said, everyone except Michael Jordan is available if the price is right.

He does. But he’s a guy that throws 102, so he has a floor of spectator. The way the Sox haven’t been able to draft and develop offense, I would think getting a hitter his level would be a nice get. Certainly it would take something really good, and I agree teams are probably not going to offer what you or I think is equal value but offensive.

I definitely would take the hitter equivalent of Taylor .

That's a play I have always wanted the Sox to try. You know half these guys have no clue about the rule.

It amazes me he's still in his arb years. It seems like he's been playing fot 12 years.

Of course he does. But he’s about profit or winning which is the exact opposite of what he was saying when he bought the team. My biggest issue with him is refusing to hire people probably because he won’t be considered the real GM or player develop guy. Seems kissing the ring is more important, which is odd because he supposedly is a pretty nice man. Bulls fans have more to complain about. They actually show up, and the Bulls goal is NBA hell. Just dont pay the luxury tax. I wish him good health, but for the love of God, give up control of the team.

This is so much more enjoyable to watch.

Pretty sad the Sox have tried to cash in on this considering JR has stated Dick wasn't HOF material.

Why do they keep saying Colson is the first Sox rookie to homer in 3 straight? He's the 10th. Last accomplished by apalka.

You’re nuts. Didn’t you hear Schriffen last night? He told us Miguel Vargas has made himself into a star.

Injuries can hurt it.

His groin probably gets a bigger workout on off days.

If aim looking at him, and he's falling apart again, my offer either gets a lot lower or totally rescinded.

Normally I would think your logic on this one is obnoxious, but I'm totally with you now. That era of broken down players can't leave my mind soon enough.
