I don't see it it would be a lot more. It may be slightly more if he's a star among stars. I also think you could have offered him something along the same lines in a year or 2. It would be hard for him to turn down 9 figures then.

I don't understand this from a Sox perspective. Save the money, and pay him when he needs to be paid. From Eloy's perspective, if this is true, he needs to sign it quickly.

I guess the moral of the story is there are consequences pleading guilty to crimes. Some even include future employment. If he was a great accountant, I doubt anyone would be outraged if KPMG failed to consider him based on his past. This is no different.

He wants to you believe the 6 year old made everything up, or her mother did, and brainwashed the kid so well, her story would hold up, so he had no choice but to plead quilty even though he did nothing wrong. I suppose it is possible, but not very probable. There is really no reason to take a chance on this guy at all.

I just can't see how some expert wouldn't be able to tell if a 6 year old was lying. especially about this particular subject. I get it's very delicate, but even if a parent put them up to it, the vast majority of 6 year olds eventually telegraph they are lying about the simple things. This is a bit more complicated.

I think wins-wise, 62 last season is the bottom. Whether the rebuild will actually produce what it is supposed to produce remains to be seen. Obviously, not getting Machado or Harper was a big blow, but Sox fans are used to not landing that type of player. Just remember, KW took over a 94 win team, one of the youngest in baseball, with a farm system ranked #1, and couldn't build a sustained winner. I don't know why anyone thinks this is going to be way different. They need more talent, and not taking the final step trying to get the biggest of those talents in their prime years is something that is going to hang over these dopes if they don't build a consistent winner.

The low fastball is either going straight into the ground or straight up hence the reason for the upper cut swing with the low ones. What was that about not being able to read?

Probably because they aren't throwing them high enough. High fastballs are hard for major leaguers to hit. I posted an article. One guy says high ones look like they are 200 MPH. Another guys says you have to cheat to catch up to it....

They are easier to hit. A fastball at the top of the zone is not as easy to put in play as one with the same velocity at the bottom of the zone. . A low fastball is easier to hit because gravity helps you out a bit.

The the high, is fastballs only. Not breaking pitches. High breaking pitches are usually really bad.

But it isn't easier to hit. Now with launch angles and upper cuts, pitching up is the way to go on a lot of hitters, except of course if up is hanging breaking balls.

Probably the biggest reason is it rarely is called a strike. Jose Quintana's put away pitch is a 92 MPH high fastball. I'm telling you, go to a batting cage which will give you the same MPH every pitch, and see how much easier it is to get around on the lower ones. Gravity helps.

The White Sox were able to trade Sale,Q, and Eaton for what should have been king ransom hauls of prospects. To think they should be on the same timetable as a normal rebuild is just hoping against hope. It's time some of these prospects actually showed why they were considered top notched guys in the major leagues.

Go to a batting cage and see what is easier. Much, much harder to hit a high fastball. Fangraphs had an article about it several years ago. The high fastball is the most effective pitch in baseball. Off speed stuff high is meat.

I don’t think being gay is inappropriate. But if you are so worried about exposing kids to things that are inappropriate, probably going to a ballgame is a bad idea. I see and hear heterosexual people doing several inappropriate things every game I attend. Not to mention, the person sitting next to you may be gay. The horror.

How many teams have studs as 4th and 5th starters? When was the last time the Sox had 5 studs? And if they realized they could pitch just as many innings, but face the opponents top hitters one time less.
