Fire Paul Janish
Incomplete. Some are really hopeful, but we will see. Ultimately what counts is what they do, not what they are ranked. Hopefully Schultz is a stud. Bush and Nastrini have major flaws. Cannon might be OK but might not. Who knows what is going to come of Thorpe elbow Martin looks good,, but how much is that have to do with Janish? Wasn’t that Banniister sugessting a grip, and it worked right away?

Sox looking at building in South Loop
Considering how Related and JR have states the studies all show the states 10 figure investment is a total win for the state, how they couldn’t find investors to build this privately with minimal cost to the state. They will be counting their money forever.

They don’t even want to admit this is a down to the studs rebuild. They are not dealing with reality, and MLB needs to step in, This is a charter franchise in the 3rd largest market in the country. There are lemonade stands run better than this. JR needs to sell or let someone competent make the decisions. Even when he finally does something right like firing KW and RH, he wrongs that right with Chris Getz, who will be happy to give you a 7 year rebuild. That’s 7 years of GM paychecks he wouldn’t get anywhere else, and I’m sure he knows it. JR has no schtick. He uses the same one he always has, he’s at the mercy of his dumbest competitor. Think what the rest of the AL Central must think of him. The highest payroll in the division and a record no one in MLB history has ever been as bad or worse through 136 games. And in the midst of this unprecedented run of awfulness, he sends Roger Bossard out to the 78 to build a makeshift infield to remind people what the can have if they just build it for him. f*** HIM.

How can Getz and Barfield both be so bad at finding infielders
No just another that wanted to talk about the positives of a 31-105 team. The players love Grady. Brady loves the players. How nice. Talking to Clueless Schriffen, who again told us last night how Nicky has been killing it in the leadoff spot, the Sox appear to be loaded.

It is, but most would be blocked out once they built the stadium. Unless you were way up in the upper deck.

8/30/24 Gamethread Miracle Mets at Miracle Max' White Sox 7:10 Central
He injured his hand on a swing. Probably out for the weekend.

Chet Lemon in bad shape from multiple strokes
Very sad. He seems like a real nice guy. He was at Soxfest many years ago, and Roland Hemond was around. He called him Mr. Hemond. He was so grateful for what Roland had done for his career.

The sad thing is it has to be a huge problem for so long before changes are made. So what if hes been here less than a year, if he's incompetent he's incompetent. The faster these people are replaced, the shorter the time you can at least be average again. You know, the Bulls strategy.

Nicky Lopez placed on waivers
Exactly.

8/29 vs Rangers 1:10
Remember when 7 in a row was a long streak? That was awesome.

Too bad Schriffen isn't a GM. He'd pick up Nicky in a hearbeat. He said last night he's really settled into the leadoff spot.

4 wins their last 41 games. Sorry, that's clean house time.

One thing that needs to be done, no matter what his supposed role is, LaRussa needs to go away. Since his managerial career ended the first time he helped run the D Backs into the ground, went to Boston, Dombrowski got fired. Went to Anaheim, they haven't been above .500 in 9 seasons. Then helped the White Sox reach depths the likes you have never seen. Seems to be a pattern.

The Veeck years were mostly bad, but during the 5 seasons he owned the team in the 70s and 1980, they were a combined 68 games under .500. They are about to be 71 under this year alone.

I get that, but the White Sox should at least give not giving the opponents best players a great chance to beat them a shot. The other way hasn’t worked.

I don’t understand White Sox managers. Why face Seager with the infield in when you could just put him on and face Grossman with at least the infield at worst halfway?

I don't think so. It was insane. I live on the Near North Side. Right before 7, it was sunny and there was a cicada right by my bedroom window. It was so loud, i thought it might be inside. Then I spotted him on the small window ledge below my window. I didn't want to take out the screen to shoe him away so I pounded on the glass. That just made him louder. 2 minutes later he was pounded by hail and he scrammed.

The biggest Chris Getz apologist on this board told us he built a lockdown bullpen.

5-move day: Ramos and Peralta called up, Bush sent down, Senzel jettisoned and Jacob Amaya claimed. Ramos back down, Amaya up.
swapping out gas cans, but at least going with the one who may have a future with the team.

it is stupid, but Ramos got $4500 sitting on the bench last night.

And even with Bannister, he has the worst pitching staff in the AL, second only to Colorado in team ERA. He focused on defense, and that sucks so bad. We weren't expecting 90 wins, but it's obvious he isn't the guy for the job. Move on

8/26 - I just Googled it, and there's a game happening right now - Tigers (Buddy's Pizza) @ Sox (Vito & Nick's - change my mind)
What has he done his year on the job, a year, according to the guy who hired him, couldn't be wasted, says to you he is the right guy for the job? It's like Pedro, I wouldn't expect the White Sox to be in contention no matter who JR hired last year, but it's obvious this guy was a mistake. If time is truly of the essence, he needs to go or you will be wasting several more years until enough is enough.

I really don't think there is anything that can possibly happen that will fundamentally change the way JR operates the White Sox, and until he dies, he isn't going anywhere either. That could be tomorow, that could be 10 years from now. I wish no one whose most evil thing they have done is run a sports franchise into the ground death, but are we supposed to stop discussing the team? Nothing is going to change.

It's funny, when they went 81-81 you thought, they really couldn't play any worse, next season has to be better. Then they go 61-101 and you think they couldn't be any worse, next season has to be better. Now they are 31-101 and you're no longer thinking, it really can't get worse.
