  1. What is the best you are going to get for him? A 2nd round pick? This is a team that sells 2nd round picks because apparently $100 million a year in profit isn’t enough.
  2. The thumb in spring training was a total fluke. He didn't dive or anything. He just sort of glanced off the fielder. It is probably nothing, but to me certain guys always seem to have these nagging injuries all the time. Usually it starts a little later. With his luck if he did it your way he would fracture his elbow. I'm not ready to call him injury prone yet, but if he winds up on the DL within a few weeks after he is next activated, even if the injury is no fault of his own like a HBP, I will be there.
  3. It is padded now. I will say with about a half inch of padding I am guessing he still gets hurt.
  4. The severity doesn't bother me, the frequency does. If you can't take the field, you can't take the field, whether you have a hang nail or your hand fell off. Maybe he becomes an iron man, but it has to start being a concern at some point.
  5. I don't know why that would be frowned upon. Last year, he didn't play in the States and was basically playing slightly higher than High School baseball and got hurt. Lost half season. This year, hurt in spring training, gets some ABs, still rusty, hurt again. 201 plate appearances and who knows if he has any left this year. None of the injuries are serious, but they have been constant, and some guys are like that. Hopefully he isn't, but it isn't a good start.
  6. You can’t blame him for that. Davidson went to get the runner at first, which would have been fine considering the Sox were up 2. Not getting to the bag confused a lot of people. He was all around the plate just not touching it. Very unfortunate. He probably thought he would arise on first and throw him out at home, but then probably saw it wasn’t going to work out. You need to get at least one out there with a 2 run lead.
  7. Ricky is always managing with an eye on the 2019 draft
  8. When you bring in Minaya, you are asking for trouble.i feel sorry for Shields.
  9. Unless they play their home games at the United Center, I am against super teams. We will see when Boogie can return and how well he can play. Achilles seems to be a tough injury for a basketball player, and Boogie is so large, but how can’t he be an upgrade though, just what they need. If anything, it seems nobody wanted to pay him very much.
  10. Avi looking for his first walk of the season.
  11. And next year the Bulls will be competing with Magic and Lebron and LA winters vs. Chicago winters for free agents. Another solid GarPax plan.
  12. Larry Himes did do a very quick rebuild and won 94 games with the lowest payroll in baseball. JR didn't like him, but pound for pound, his GM performance with the White Sox is as good as anybody's.
  13. What is the realistic chance the Bulls ever compete for a title again? Don' they basically have to luck out and draft an icon? Free agent wise, Chicago isn't going to be a destination. Maybe they realize this and figure 45-55 wins and a series or two in the playoffs is the most realistic.
  14. Not only that, but the security of the rich ballplayers would be a huge concern.
  15. What is the longest Robert has gone without getting hurt? I know these injuries aren’t all that serious in nature, but the consistency of them has to become a concern pretty soon. If you are hurt all the time when you are 20; I don’t see how that projects to being relatively healthy down the line.
  16. Chris Sales last 4 starts 27 IP 10 hits 3 runs 7 walks 44 strikeouts
  17. His RF defense was panned his last couple of years, and when he was signed, he started off slow and was Jermaine Died. Frank Thomas was slammed on this board. Eventually, if they are around long enough, every player will be hated at some level by at least a few.
  18. I get that, but since they can’t show the games, team produced content probably wouldn’t play as well as the stuff out there now especially if they aren’t a good team. People will eat up the fluff if you are winning, but if you aren’t and there are other choices that could be a problem.
  19. Hers something that might be behimd a paywall, but sort of throws everything in the air. The Cubs will probably start their own network, I am guessing they are hoping the Bears join them. Bears programming would work out pretty well IMO. The only problem they may have is it could be too homer, and not so unbiased coverage. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/ct-spt-cubs-tv-channel-fox-rsn-future-20180625-story.html
  20. The head of the NRA has been calling for the stomping out of journalists as well. She denied it, but the video is all over the internet.
  21. Larry Kudlow on State TV, err Fox, today said the deficit is coming down drastically. Unfortunately for Trump's top economic advisor, the truth is just the opposite,
  22. The problem is, when you state facts, it's considered fake news if it isn't praising Trump. The facts are, he lies a lot. Once you are caught lying, not just once, but hundreds and thousands of times over, what you say isn't taken as truth. That's true if you are in politics or an 8 year old kid. Trump invents wars with people, getting them to what his supporters would call ganging up, and it works. When people here gang up on Greg, it doesn't work to his advantage like Trump. Facts and truth don't matter anymore. People will hear what they want to hear.
