  1. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 07:29 PM) I said it didn't matter when Trump tweeted that two million illegals voted for Hillary. It's a non issue. The public gains nothing by talking about it and the media does a disservice when they spent weeks talking about it. I don't get why stating what a liberal does for a living is a big deal. If I were one of the first responders in the United scandal thread and said the guy was a doctor would you be losing your mind over that too? People's occupation and personal history naturally comes up when their actions or the actions of someone else lands them in the middle of a news story. Furthermore, I said I respect her right to put her orifices in front of a camera to make some coin. When I brought up Biden's kid's perversions I brought it up with the point that nobody said anything around here. You guys will post about Trump's grandson and his school or liberal company's messing with Ivanka Trump's business but when Biden's kid acts like a pervert and Tim Kaine's kid is a criminal the links never seem to make it here. I brought it up for the point of exposing the hypocrisy and balancing the one-sidedness around here. You just strip things of the necessary context to mischaracterize me. I know Trump is a doofus. Am I surprised by his comments? No. Do I support his comments? No. I should say, sexual abuse is about consent. In the lines before the grab the p**** line Trump talked about how they'd give him consent. Imagine that, girls responding to a man sexually because he has money. I can't imagine that's ever happened before. Guys say things about girls they don't mean all the time. They talk about girls like they're a part of a game to get the most. They talk about girls who they have the upper hand with in a particular relationship with disrespect. Girls do the same thing to guys with their friends. Most people don't do it the creepy, crude way Trump did it but it's not that crazy. It's not that shocking to me that a guy who gets laid at will said something disrespectful to another guy about a woman. I played sports and hung around on the south side growing up, that stuff happened all the time even if it is reprehensible. That doesn't mean it's okay or I endorse it, but it is what it is and people have been doing for a looooong time. If you get outside of your comfort zone and meet some new people you'll find there are people who have opinions with a basis stemming from something other than projecting an air of moral superiority. Not everyone in this life is as proper and politically correct as your media intake preference. The real problem is the country couldn't find a candidate to beat Trump on account of this among everything else on his long list of issues. What he says to another guy, even if it is raunchy and gross, isn't that important in the grand scheme of things. Just like it wasn't a big deal when Bill Clinton used to get head from intern and his wife used to malign the character of his sexual assault accusers. I think it's a bigger transgression to attack possible sexual assault victims than it is to make a crude joke while being a braggadocios asshole with a friend behind closed doors. JFK used to tell girls to give head to his political friends hanging around the pool. I love JFK and I still have to say that using your power to get your political buddies head is worse than what Trump said. Those things didn't get the same play as Trump's comment from 2005 for some reason. It doesn't. There was nothing in my post you quoted that insinuates I was pissed off. It pisses me off when people wear blinders and act hypocritically. I've been on record ripping GWB and Trump far more than I have ever supported either of their work. I am not without bias but I don't follow politics from a partisan lens like many in this subforum. The whole system is broken not just one side of it. Again, you don't practice what you preach and in the other thread seemed to have always considered yourself special for apparently staying above it all. Remember you posted about the gotcha aspect the other day in the United deal. Well where did you stoop? A woman gets punched in the face, and you tell us she did porn. You got her. If that kind of thing bothers you so much, why do you do it? If acting hypocritically pisses you off, you should be pissed off at yourself.

  3. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 08:44 PM) Still early, but he's making Freeky Magee look good in his evaluation of him (and DA looking bad). I hope he does well, but Matt Albers was looking pretty good a year ago.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 07:25 PM) Exactly so give Davidson a chance If the Sox acquired a real 1B sure make Abreu the DH, but not Matt Davidson or move Frazier off of 3B would be silly too.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 07:18 PM) Why not? Give Davidson reps at 3rd when Frazier's Ebola improves Davidson is on a hot streak right now and still fans half the time. Abreu is a far better player.
  6. This game is ova. The Sox have scored at least 5 runs in a game only 3 times this year.
  7. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 07:17 PM) Time for Abreu at 1B experiment to end no? No.
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 07:08 PM) This is an embarrassment of an inning for Hawk. Really tired of this crap, it's his like fourth game and he sounds bitter and tired So he sounds like the gamethread.
  9. QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 06:32 PM) regardless....anytime he wants to join the rest of the Sox this season that'd be nice. btw...what's the situation with his kid? Is he here now full time? That was the excuse last year.... The rest of the Sox?They have a .220 team average. Scoring next to nothing when homers around the league are back up to steroid era levels.
  10. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 06:18 PM) I'm not concerned about anything. I responded to something topical. Not every political conversation has to spiral back to character court of the president who's inauguration has affected you so personally. I've long been on record speaking against him but the person in office doesn't control my life, I control my own life. Yet it pisses you off people speak out against him.
  11. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 06:12 PM) When you come at me personally can you at least say what it is that I do wrong? I don't know what the "same thing" is. What do I preach? I don't know what Trump has to do with your point either. Are the sour grapes of his presidency that invasive to your stream of consciousness that you have to liken people you disagree with to him? Your willingness to accept opinions other than your own speaks measures about your tolerance. (Am I doing the hacky sarcasm thing right? Enlighten me more please) What you are doing is going off issues. When anyone wants to address Anything other than political issues with Trump, you have stated you don't care about that stuff, and apparently don't believe anyone else should be concerned about it either. Yet when it is someone that appears not republican, you are very interested in other things like the news this woman did porn.joe Bidens son dating his dead brothers wife. What are the issues with these vs. all of Trumps lies not being issues? Trumps claim that he could grab women by the p**** apparently didn't bother you, but shouldn't it? If he was telling the truth, he has committed sexual abuse. If he was lying, isn't it at least a little creepy a 60 something guy would say that to Billy Bush? i have the feeling if this woman were a Trump supporter you probably wouldn't have mentioned porn.
  12. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 06:01 PM) Hmm. Not sure how you came to that conclusion. Unless you're still being sarcastic? I take more s*** in the filibuster than anyone other than greg. Most who hold different opinions than the groupthink in this subforum don't hang around to get ganged up on but I have so your point doesn't line up with reality. You deserve all the s*** you get. You are guilty of doing the exact same thing you b**** about time after time. Your groupthink is another one similar to Trumps fake news. Practice what you preach or quit preaching, or be a man and understand when you do the exact same thing you complain about, you are going to get called out. It is stunning to me you are more concerned about character issues with a woman who was punched at a rally vs. character issues of POTUS.
  13. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 05:50 PM) And DA is all about s***ty sarcasm and beating dead horses into a fine powder. LMAO. You can dish it out but can't take it.
  14. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 03:47 PM) What difference does it make? Rabbit is all about the issues, he doesn't care about the other stuff. Oh, wait.
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 04:18 PM) I don't believe there's any carryover from year to year. I don't factor in spring training stats because I think they are meaningless so it's tough for me to date back to last year as well. Most projection is based on previous work. You usually can throw out September stats on a non contender but last year's results certainly can be used especially when the guy was working on changing his swing. Of course I would never bet money Avi is now one of the better hitters in the league, but there have been encouraging signs he is truly turning things around. The problem is he has had at least a couple 40 or 50 game stretches where he has looked great. Two weeks from now it might be Avi being Avi is back. But as long as he hits the ball in the air, and makes pitchers throw strikes, he is very dangerous. His last 240 or so plate appearances he is hitting around .280 with an OPS around .800, and he actually was pretty Aviesque last September.
  16. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 12:23 PM) How is Willy capable of playing CF? His lack of speed won't play well in CF and the scouting reports seem to say Willy is a corner OF. I wouldn't count on seeing Willy in CF. After watching him play LF yesterday, putting him in CF could be a comedy show.
  17. The White Sox are scoring 1.33 runs per Q start. Sweet. No need to freak out about his performance. Way too early. Right now Avi would have to be considered the front runner for the MVP, and James Shields would be in consideration for the Cy Young. Unless only bad counts, there are no conclusions to be made at this point.
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 09:17 AM) What was a little bit discouraging in the second half was that the Bulls didn't get as many offensive boards, so it looks like Boston adjusted a bit to getting dominated by Lopez down low. The Bulls shot like absolute garbage in the first half and that kind of corrected itself in the second half as well. We'll see how it goes, but I have a feeling this series probably goes 7. Then Buckets took over. While I am scared to death how great the Knicks will eventually be when Carmelo goes and it's unicorns's team, what a time to be alive.
  19. Obviously we have been here way too many times before, and his current production is unsustainable. But you look at this guy and wonder how come he can't hit .280-.290 with power? His exit velocity was top 5 in baseball last year and he totally sucked. Chances are disappointment will prevail, but in rebuilding years, players playing like Avi is currently playing keep things at least a little interesting.
  20. Does Lip still think Avi should be released?
  21. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 16, 2017 -> 05:19 PM) I know people like to b**** May (and for good reason), but he's helping us get losses. And I'd rather throw away at-bats on him than a has-been veteran like Bourjos in the off-chance something clicks. The problem is it isn't going to clikck. He needs more time in AAA. Obviously you would expect him to at least get a hit here and there, but his struggling terribly should surprise no one. Bourjos sucks, but if you think May has potential, he should be playing in Charlotte until he has success there,at the very least.
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 16, 2017 -> 05:17 PM) Serious? Wow. Yeah it went down from over $100. But the new minumum more than pays for the difference.
  23. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 16, 2017 -> 05:12 PM) Hope he enjoyed the per diem. They only get $30 a day now.
  24. Smith, May, Leury, not exactly murferer's row. Hard to believe no pinch hitting. I get the game is meaningless and you aren't going to win anything this year, but what's wrong with trying to win today?
  25. Mookie Betts hasn't fanned in his last 116 PA.
