I have no idea why anyone would throw him a strike.

Garrett Crochet named Opening Day starter
And outside of off the top of your head, how do you come up with those numbers? And even with your numbers , he's half a season as the #1 guy. My problem is even though he was spectacular, they let him through more pitches on opening day than everyone but 3 or 4 guys in the league. I MO, that's just asking for trouble with a guy that has been constantly injured.

You are actually arguing the statement Crochet isn’t conditioned to go an MLB starters workload?

Fire Jerry
And when they clinched the division he blasted everyone who criticized the white flag trade. At a moment of what should be total joy, he’d rather bring up his pettiness. After this season, his 44th owning the team, his team will be below .500 overall. So maybe he can bring up the pettiness of his dumbest competitors, and realize he is below average.

He was awesome, no question about it. Was like Sale was back. I just have questions with his workload, even in college, when its going to come back to haunt him. Having him throw 87 pitches to me his first start, s like letting Cease, if he were still a White Sox, throw 130 on Opening Day.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
Yes, but the race track was there, it's got some infrastructure, will need more. The Metra line with already a stop is nice. As for acts that need that kind of capacity, if it gets built in AH, chances are, Soldier Field as we know it will cease to exist, and if an act wants to play Chicago, they will go to AH. They go to Tinley Park, they used to go to to Poplar Creek. I love how Warren is borrowing from JR and saying they need the new stadium in order to be successful.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
The Bears will be in Arlington Heights. This is just a play to squeeze every dollar they can from the schools in that suburb. Friends of the Park will never let something like a football stadium be built without a huge fight if they wouldn't allow a museum which would have catered to far more people. Plus, the Bears own the site in Arlington Heights. Why would they contribute $2 billion to a stadium they wouldn't own, when they have a blank canvas to build their own and have everything they want?

2024 White Sox Opening Day thread 3/28 3:10 first pitch vs Detroit
Either Vaughn is wearing last years jersey or they fixed them. The number is bigger as is the name on the back. Just saw it on the news.

One of the first pictures of Spring Training I saw this year was White sox pitchers throwing around footballs.

So he'll get lit up in Charlotte, but is ready for the major leagues. Whatever youre on, I want some. I say keep him down in Charlotte until his dead arm period is over, then he can be ROY and possibley CY Young. Dude dominated Spring Training.

Fire Pedro Grifol
The way Getz amd Pedro are talking right now, they should be held accountable if this team sucks. If they are trying to sell it's a good team, if it is, they get a ton of credit. If it isn't, it should be noted thousands who sit in the stands and pay to attend games knew way better.

It begins...
It's going to be a long season because they are going to lose 90 + games again and suck. Montgomery will be fun to watch. Ramos might be fun if he gets a shot. Other than that, its just hope for some surprises, and Bears training camp starts in July.

I read the last time Crochet pitched 4 innings in a game was May 2019.

It begins...
Only because they can't draft any higher than #10 in 2025. Its isn't meaningless. It's a team that has definitely tanked, depriving its fans of entertaining baseball, which MLB has started going to great lengths to avoid. Even many of them can't get to 100. 100 wins would be great. Would you throw cold water on that and say it too is a meaningless line people have drawn?

I had season tickets for 30 years. I hope they win every game they play. Last year when they hired Pedro, I was fired up. He seemed perfect. Turns out the guy was a fraud. He is awful. Then JR finally comes to his senses and fires Hahn and KW. He doesn’t search for a perfect replacement, he hired Getz because he said Getz knew the organization and he couldn’t waste a year. I liked his first trade. It’s somewhere on this site if you don’t believe it, but after that, and until the Cease trade, which again, I thought was pretty good, I gave a B grade, all he acquired was and is crap. This will be a wasted year. They are terrible. Not even trying. Call me a whiner. I consider myself an educated consumer. I was sold a bill of goods. I won’t be fooled again. The organization is full of bullshitters, and it starts at the top.

You take spring training way too seriously. I hope Nastrini is good pitcher, but chances are he won’t be all that good in the major leagues in 2024. Command isn’t the greatest.
