  1. There is also the whole conspiracy theory of owners dictating the policy on how this impacts their organization. Not sure where I saw this but the same policy has Marcel Ozuna playing and ending Bauer's career was an interesting comparative.
  2. greg, I don't know the inner workings at BR but Q's lower levels are doing very well. The talent on varsity the last two years was down and may have been a reason Brian left. The arrow appears to be pointing up and I think Q sticks around. They should be in the last three games and have a chance to win and make the playoffs. Losing to Marist has to sting as they are 1-5 and out of the playoffs but can hang their hat on beating BR. As for QB, if you have 2 or 3 QBS, you don't have one and from what I heard that is the case. They also lost their D1 MLB who was vital in them beating Maine South.
  3. WSCR had an exclusive interview with Eberflus yesterday afternoon per their social media account.....so exclusive, ESPN 1000 had one at 8:30 in the morning as they do every Monday. I really detest WSCR at this point. I feel like greg yelling at the clouds over this.
  4. Based on the history of MLB handling this, I think either something has come out more recently or there are items out there that he is not addressing. My issue in all of this is the media handling. There is a reason why players are suspended with no back story into it like Jimmy Cordero. That came out of nowhere and was a major suspension. Then there is Clevenger and the media (mainly WSCR) that ran unsubstantiated proof and interviewed an alleged victim while station employees went on a witchhunt. He didn't even get a slap on the wrist. That punishment was barely a CYA by MLB. Yet here we are with some still wanting him to be gone, which he probably will. If you want him gone because of the COVID/Francona action fine but the Indians are still hanging on to that ring leader so I'm not certain there is stock in that as well.
  5. Yet Pedro will remain. What a disgraceful operation.
  6. Whole series was a joke and it would be nice for Manfred to give the Marlins the Mets first round pick next year as a penalty for the willful negligence that went on this whole series. It could cost the Marlins a playoff spot. First with the DH and then last night.
  7. I wondered if they would have finished it this morning and then travelled to Pittsburgh or moved tonight's Pittsburgh game to a DH tomorrow.
  8. If you need hall of famers to make the scheme work, it's not the defensive scheme that is making it work it is the hall of famers. Urlacher made Lovie's scheme work. Imagine him in a scheme that was more imaginative for him. Why invest if LB and DB if they needed a DL to make it work. They are historically bad and that is his specialty.
  9. As the season is now ending, I missed him this season. Fully understand moving him but I now realized I missed his desire
  10. Nuked the team and nobody has gone on to do anything after the nuclear meltdown. It was a great move by them as opposed to paying young talent to turn around and do nothing. They are playing meaningful baseball on September 28th. I would die for that. Regardless of what happens over the next two days, I envy them. The idiots running the White Sox trade away Tatis and Semien for middling pitchers.
  11. I believe that is the signing that pushed JR to his decision. That is some serious wasted coin. If JR is a fraction of the fan that he thinks he is, Bellinger was the a no brainer pick up. Really is no legitimate reason to have not signed him. A short term lightning in the bottle specialty.
  12. I meant that game was the same season as 163. No 163 without that play.
  13. The defensive scheme is terrible and he is the coach in charge of that. His hand picked DC seems like a poor choice as well. If he was hired because dopey George and Ted liked him and forced him on Poles that could end his tenure sooner especially if Warren and Poles are on the same page. When do we get to hear how angry Virginia is?
  14. Was that the 163 game v the Giants? Only team with solid pitching in the NL right now is the Brewers who do not matchup well with the cubs. Clevenger would have been a great get for any NL team.
  15. Minneosta got fleeced in this deal not Miami. Minnesota gave the Orioles the good prospect. Both ends of the trade this year were released.
  16. Covers a majority of the MLB roster. Yet there's Trayce Thompson.
  17. If the price tag is an issue on Anderson then they are in huge trouble as it's a peanuts deal. He obviously needs a change of scenery so pick up the option and hope for the best.
  18. This injury wont be serious but still will cause him to miss the beginning of spring training , impact the start of 2024 season and not be right until after the ASB if at all until 2025.
  19. That's the indictment in all of this and then can you even address Fields progression with this staff. Eberflus and his guys gotta go. That defense yesterday was as bad as anything I had ever witnessed. They do nothing to address their weaknesses.
  20. I know the Brewers need to set up the rotation for the playoffs but I still think it's as important to knock the cubs out. That place will be 70% cub fans which my or may not be important. The cubs offense is better then the Brewers and in short series can outperform the them rather easily. Brewers pitching is stacked as it has been previously and has not worked out in playoffs.
  21. That's a pretty classless thing to say about the Pirates. Pretty big dick move from a team that lost 2 of 3 to the Rockies and 3 of 4 to AZ as well.
  22. They match up with the Brewers. Reds are in it as well
  23. Agreed if it was health, other family issue or minor infraction he isn't wiped clean so quickly and remains on leave especially if it's health. Nate Davis is a prime example of that. The silence on the legality of it to me speaks volumes. FBI probably didn't raid Hals Hall but informed them that there is an issue and confiscated his belongings. The professionalism with Poles and hopefully Warren are needed here.
  24. By itself its a good move. Gives time for the younger guys to ease in. If it's THE move or if the move precludes them from spending elsewhere it's a terrible move. It's the move JR railed about in regard to paying a .220 hitting 2B $13M. For the rotation they are going to rely on Cease and the new guy Navi-something. Clevenger is as good as any FA option if the mutual option is picked up but my guess is he opts out and then the Sox walk away and are left with a hole. They are not signing more then 2 FA pitchers and there and the bullpen is where it all falls apart. Clevenger may not opt out as I would have assumed somebody would have taken a flyer on him at the deadline. If they put him on waivers FL or CIN would pick him up to make two starts before the end of the year and that could be the difference. I am not certain he could be put on waivers again though.
  25. Didn't the coaching candidates interview prior to Poles making a decision, I could be wrong but thought he was somewhat limited as to who he could hire with Bill Polian having some input. That's about the only reason I think of for allowing Poles to clean house 19 games into his tenure with a regime he put together. Warren has got to be thinking of pulling the plug on all of them.
