I had them in third in the prediction thread. Mostly because the division is that bad.
-
And that really was my gut, not my brain. It was much easier to see how things would go right. In fact, since I was in Illinois right before the season started, I have several losing bets now on the Sox winning division, AL, and WS. I think it you are going to blame Hahn for a terrible roster then Tony gets some credit for being this competitive with all the injuries and no depth. If you agree that Hahn put out a capable roster, even with the inevitable injuries, then Tony takes the fall. Which is where I'm leaning. Although @Balta1701 brings up the good point that Hahn has put together a roster that could win the division, but given the time and budget, should be much better. White Sox baseball, finding new ways to disappoint fans for over 100 years™

@mmmmmbeeer have you read the fire Hahn thread?
-
So you think Hahn put together a good roster built to win and JR shouldn't sell?
-
Yep add years of futility and mismanagement before Tony got here.
-
"I don't care what players have to say, Hahn is the most important. The front office needs to be more involved in the clubhouse." No one ever.
-
If I was Tony's PR advisor . . . Tony took according to knowledgeable fans a seriously flawed roster built to lose for an owner who should sell, designed by one of the worst GMs in baseball, (who also needs to be fired), and managed them to a 156 - 134 record while having basically almost everyone on the roster injured at some point. Plus most of the current players publically support him.
-
Exactly.
-
One ex player I would support is Sandy Alomar.
-
I believe Tony deserves a soft landing. I hope he recovers and can live a long life. If this is a PR stunt to allow him a graceful exit, I'm pissed because I do have empathy for anyone suffering health issues bad enough that they end a career. I am a little sad how pessimistic so many people are about their life span. My mother in law is 90 and lives a very active life. Folks over 70 have climbed Everest, sailed solo around the world, created masterpieces in all art forms. Your life doesn't have to crater in your 70s.

English, Health, Senior Seminar (College Prep) and Golf. They call me coach and I interviewed with the Athletic Coordinators before the principals. Yep. Beef to chicken, venison to rattlesnake. -

Remember it's lose not loose -
I know this wasn't directed at me. To get me back interested I'd like to see legit players on the going up side of their MLB careers at 2nd and RF. That shows me a little give a shit. I'd like a new manager with some experience without ties to the organization. I'd like a new hitting coach. I'm in the minority but I'll accept the front office staying the same. There are some positions that also need help like catcher. But many of the other spots are likely to improve with healing.

What does he know? Abreu is an idiot blaming injuries. It's TLR, It's Hahn, it's JR. End of story. Injuries weren't a problem.
-
Good point.
-
I have confidence they can dig an even deeper hole.
-
Put a fork in 'em, they're done.
-
JR approves this post.
-
Because he really likes the fans, TLR bought a cork board and some push pins and will set it up at Jewel.
-
Sending well wishes as you negotiate this stage.

I agree. Which leads to this paradox. One of the worst GMs in baseball, who should be fired, put together a horrible roster that should be winning the division. Is he really as bad as we're saying here, or did Hahn hand a decent roster to a horrible manager who then didn't deal with unforseen injuries and rapid declining players? Personally, I'm struggling to reconcile he sucks with we should be winning.
-
As horrible as the roster is that Hahn put together, so many people actually thought this team would win their division. Many fans and insiders thought they could win a playoff series. People are actually disappointed this incredibly flawed roster isn't winning. Just looking at half the mistakes Hahn made should have had everyone predicting third place. We all could see they had no chance.

Anyone done Alaska by land? I'm planning for 2023 or 2024 a trip to Glacier NP, Bannf PP, then Alaska Highway to Alaska then the loop stopping is Homer, Seward, etc. Not certain about the return route. Towing our travel trailer.

It's less than we'll send to Ukraine. Call it a university bailout. Arguably Tesla is the most successful automobile manufacturer over the last ten years. So why are we paying millionaires a $7,500 tax credit to buy a Tesla?
-
We need a GM who can put a competitive team on the field. Only an idiot would have thought this team could win anything.
