QUOTE(mreye @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) You ran XCountry AND played basketball. I guess we have more in common thatn I thought. The wrestlers loved nothing better than to trap a lone b-ball player in the weight room, drop him, and in about 2.3 seconds have him spread eagle on his back singing songs. Today, someone would be arrested, then, I just learned to hate weight rooms. Rest of my geek HS resume President -- Chess Club played board 1 we won county three years in a row. Treasurer -- Varsity Club Captain -- Track (880) and CC Golf Editor in Chief HS and College newspapers

It isn't the strikeouts that I remember, it's the errors. Man didn't he have a three error game early last season? Two in one inning?

QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 11:42 AM) Only if you replaced them with "Delta Dawn" by Helen Reddy. Could it be a faded Rose from love gone by? I did memorize all the words to I am Woman, the wrestlers made the basketball players sing it often enough

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 11:14 AM) I think that's a good choice. The transition will be difficult, so let him concentrate on one position. I hope Sox are able to swing a deal for a veteran back-up or maybe a suprise vetran will be cut by another team... History says Valentin should be back by June

QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 11:27 AM) I honestly dont really find that girl attractive...much. What happened to the girl next door? Has she been lost forever? With all the girls I've had in my life....enough for an accurate sample population.....Im alot more attracted to them when they are more comfortable with themselves than when they spend all that time infront of a mirror. Sweet. you're hoping your girlfriend reads this, aren't you.

QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 11:08 AM) And I thought it was for my original vinyl copy of Baby I'm A Want You by Bread. I loved that album, and their greatest hits. One summer I wore that out and the Greatest Hits of the Lovin' Spoonful. Am I gay?

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 11:07 AM) Like everything else, prices vary. Out in L.A. since there are so many surgeons doing it, it's less. I know women who have flown out there, because even after you throw in the air fare, it's still cheaper. There are also very reputable places doing it in Mexico and other countries. I can't say I blame women for getting them. There are a couple surgeons about 20 minutes southwest of me that charge $1500 USD. I've been told the work is first rate and the facilities modern. Si habla espanol!
  11. KW: I'm sorry. I got busy and didn't call. I know I said I would call, I know I was wrong to not call, but I was busy for you. See? I got you a nice fast lead off guy like you wanted. I went all the way to Japan to get you a second baseman who could steal a base, and the pitchers! Did you see the pitchers?? I picked up the phone a couple times but JR was always around and you know how jealous he gets. Come on, how about tonight we go out and get really crazy drunk and have a good time? I hired your son in law. Pleeeeeeaaaase?!
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 10:15 AM) It wasn't just that post... You just don't seem like your usual jovial self. Really? I thought my captions in both the SL&P and Palehose threads were funny. This was the only thread that saddened me. I see America splitting apart when each side is dismissed with a smirk and a insult. It's becoming us or them and then we fall. Sadly, all the unity in wake of 9/11, has been replaced by insults and personal agendas. Yesterday, the walking path near my home was lined with hundreds of US flags and dozens of people out for a stroll, a run, a roll, or a ride. As first generation immigrants mixed with Winter Texans, it truly symbolized the strength of America. Not as a melting pot, but as a fruit salad. Don't melt into some homogeneous sameness, but save your individuality, your beliefs, your hopes and dreams and let us combine and make America better. Let's not dismiss each other with insulting labels.
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 09:40 AM) You having a bad morning Tex? As usual, anyone left of a Nazi skin head is a leftist wacko by Nuke's standards. His intolerance of anyone not a conservative is just sickening. I'm not defending the protesters, I think it was pretty stupid and illegal tresspassing, but when was the last time Nuke made a post without an insulting adjective to describe moderates or liberals?? Every chance he gets, he insults moderates and liberals. Too many people are too young and don't remember just how dirty America was up until the 70s and 80s and the environmental movement. Sewer discharge into rivers, pollution spewing from factory smoke stacks, DDT killing fish and birds, and other problems that liberals saw solutions to and conservatives said were too costly to fix.
  14. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) Nothing makes me laugh more than hearing about a bunch of whacko lefty protestors getting a good kicking ( to use a british phrase ) like that. Nice to see how tolerant you are of people who are trying to clean up the world after conservatives piss and s*** all over it. Don't worry, conservative s*** doesn't stink like whacko lefty protestors. When your job is to destroy people, I guess destroying our environment isn't a problem. :headshake

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 08:49 AM) Or bleaching their hair beyond human recognition. Or fake baking to get a pretty tan that will, eventually, leave leather looking skin. The plan is to dump her before any of that happens and go for a younger model

Anyone who reports to camp weighing less than last season was on steroids.
  18. It takes a big asshole to take 105 million instead of 60 million. I guess he didn't know much about the market and how 60 million and living part of the year in Chicago is better than 105 million and living part of the year in Detroit. Just thought I'd throw it out there.
  19. QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 07:20 PM) KW-Wazup baby! Ozzie-Im just going to imagine you never said that/ QUOTE(3E8 @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 07:32 PM) KW: Ozzie, rock doesn't beat paper. OG: ::pouts:: QUOTE(Y2HH @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 10:22 PM) KW: Please explain to me what the #@CK fung is... OG: Fung is winning. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 11:11 PM) KW: so then I take it winning is fung? OG: No dumbass, winning is when you score more runs then other team QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 12:58 AM) KW: This is my 5th season you better make it my best OG: dun worry tis iz Ozzie ball wat cud go wong. LMAO
  20. OG: "Why do we need nicknames?" KW: "Come on, it'll be fun. Big Hurt has one. Kong has one. El Duque has one . . ." OG: "OK, if it will get you to leave me alone, I'll start calling you the Unabomber and you can call me Wizard of Oz. . ."

QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 08:05 AM) If people make gay jokes, whatever. But I think there's an obvious line between an attempt at humor and just being insulting/derogatory. And that goes for nearly everything. Oh and Tex, she'll still be trying to convert me anyway so don't get your hopes up. Humor is a difficult area to work in. It is a built in coping mechanism. If we can laugh at something we lose our fear, our sadness, our aggravation. Watching the Comedy Channel for any length of time is enough to convince me that everything is funny to someone and everything can be insulting to someone. She might be trying to convert you, but it's only to get her hands on your Barbara Streisand signed copy of Guilty with Barry Gibb

QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 11:55 PM) I tried SO hard to be straight (How hard did you try?) I tried so hard that I still can't find my sense of style! PS. Selfdeprecation is always funny. I saw your new car. You stopped trying. I know one thing, by not prejudging someone for various obvious and not so obvious reasons, I have met some wonderful and interesting people. Maybe I'm just not smart enough, but everyone takes their own walk with their faith. Some have faith in various Gods, others have faith in the randomness of genetics and the miracle of new life forms spontaneously happening. I'm going to let God sort that out someday. Until then, I'm going to continue to try and respect other humans, give them the benefit of the doubt, and choose to like or dislike people based on criteria other than their race, creed, or sexual orientation. Besides, I would love to be the last straight guy in America, then, well maybe then, that little b**** Julie from 7th grade will pay attention to me.
  23. Oz, I'm telling you, the look works for Belichick . . .
