No the GOP gets major kudos for coming up with the discredit the media stategy. They repeat liberal media bias often enough and the "ditto heads" start to repeat it and get a pat on the head from the talking heads, and soon they start to believe it. Nice way for politicos to control what people believe. This was one of the final factors in my split from the GOP after 12 years of almost faithful service. I believe (opinion ahead) that partisan politics is the biggest problem with out system. If you want to get funded, survive your primary, etc. you have to toe the party line. If you want to get a decent committee assignment, you have to follow the party line. In my case as soon as the GOP wanted me to vote to drill for oil in the ANWR, I would be at odds. As soon as the Dems wanted to cut off access to the ANWR to walking only, I would be at odds. When the GOP wants to execute another citizen I would vote against it, when the Dems want to expand abortion rights, I would be at odds with them. Instead of following their individual beliefs, our leaders sell their soul to their party and try and do as much good as they can, knowing it is a flawed system.

And that is where more Americans listen and get their news. It's all MEDIA.

I am amazed when I hear Rush, mention how the media is so biased when he, Hannity, O'Reilly, Dr. Laura, etc. are the most popular radio shows. mreye, you have to admit the GOP spends a lot of time trying to point out their perceived bias in the media.

People just will not work for these companies that have unsafe working conditions and they will either fix things or go out of business. Yes, it is opinion. I disliked the ad. I believe he was wrong for running it. It is a fact that I thought it was wrong. It sounds like it is a fact that you liked them or thought they were ok. The NRA likes to point out that the frst thing a dictator does is take away everyone's guns. That actually is the second thing they do. The first thing is to take away the media. They head to the tv and radio stations and take them over. This is the same thing the GOP has been trying to do. They are trying to get the American public to dismiss our freedom of press. A free press has served this country well. The second thing is our main protection from unconstitutional laws is the Judicial system. I am trying to decide if I should pick up a new case and motherboard and keep my HD, CDRW, etc. or buy a new machine. Being a cheap college student I was looking at Tiger Direct and liked their prices on refurbished systems. Has anyone here bought one? Any other place to look for decent systems for under $500?
