I have a small gathering Christmas Eve and pre dinner I will be serving Negronis with grilled and chilled shrimp cocktails. I picked up some gin from a distillery in Missouri that I'm looking to showcase. I have a few egg nog recipes I'm considering for Christmas Day. I'm just not certain how much time I want to spend prepping and mixing. I haven't found a new Christmas beer that really causes me to stock up and share. My house red wine has been the Ozark Hellbender from Stone Hill. I've moved from a large selection of mix it yourself to signature drinks that my friends and family really enjoy. As long as there are a few backups in case of someone not liking a selection it's been a good plan. New Years my wife and I always enjoy a drink that reminds us of our summer trip. This year it will be a blueberry soda drink we developed in Maine.

Keep the infomercial and time share spiel. Put the effort into actually having a winning team and all is good. There was a time when I looked forward to it.

I love the tighter pitch clock but I love a good mound visit. Grab a beer, go to the bathroom, cook a nice steak, watch a couple commercials, maybe sing a jingle.

The Rangers got a sweet stadium deal, invested in a free agent heavy payroll only about $10 million more than ours, and won a WS. The only way to really lock the team in Chicago is through a long term lease.

I don't think it's about sides at all. Isn't the alternative for the government to be forcing the business to stay open in their city? No, you can't move. How would they even enforce that? Arrest the owners? If it's a publicly traded company arrest the board? Eminent domain? Marshall law. It seems like the only way to force them to stay is through a lease agreement. The government has to give something in return. Plus we're they wrong to leave Philadelphia? Kansas City? Oakland? I have a hard time crying for Oakland when they made a deal to get the team to leave another city to come to Oakland in the first place.

Nashville seems to be the front runner for a spot but there will be two. Charlotte? Oakland? San Antonio? Schaumburg? Montreal? Mexico City? Salt Lake City? Portland? Obviously I would love to see a third Texas team but that seems unlikely. A return to Montreal or Oakland seems unlikely since franchises failed there already. But one was decades ago. Charlotte seems like a solid choice of they find a suitable investment group.

@hogan873 after watching a How to Drink episode on YT I picked up some seasonal Christmas beers. I'm doing it with a couple other people so we can share the "oh my God these are horrible" while checking them off.

I turn down everything in September to November to get school and coaching settled. I picked up a stand up/ improv gig last night and have then lined up once a month until May. Planning our dinner trip and Lake Superior and living above the freezing line also help.

I'm over that chapter. Let him advise. Let him play video games with JR. All I'm interested in are wins and losses. I'm not going to like or dislike the team based on TLRs involvement. JR could do everything most posters here want but if the team is still losing 90+ games, I'm not buying in. Be competitive and I really don't care how they get there (without cheating).
