I don’t really think the premise of the post—the OFFENSE being better than last year when we had Eaton starting in RF and massive injuries to two middle of the order bats—should be all that controversial.

There are going to be healthy and regular servings of ass on the Northside this season. Funny thing is many of the Cub fans I come across -- in real life and online -- don't know it's coming.

Serious question and thought experiment -- what are the AL contenders that have the "complete" roster that many are furious at the White Sox for not assembling, i.e. one with no-doubters at every position and rotation slot ("every need filled")? Seems to me that there are as many or more question marks in the rotations of the Astros, Yankees, Blue Jays, Red Sox and Rays than in the White Sox rotation (once Lynn returns from injury). Definitely more question marks in their respective bullpens. As for offenses -- just spitballing but the Astros haven't replaced Correa, arguably their best player and cheater. Red Sox haven't replaced Schwarber, and are relying I think on Bobby Dalbec at 1b and JBJ starting in a not-very-impressive outfield. The Yankees' starting CF is who, Aaron Hicks? The Blue Jays lineup is almost as loaded as ours, but their starting C is who, Danny Jansen? I would love to have a couple more #2 starters and feature arms up and down the rotation that are *both* top-level and battle-tested. I'd love to have an all-star caliber 2b rather than Harrison (who is really the only "hole" in our lineup). But that's really not how it works, ever. Every team has a few slots where they're trying to get by, or get lucky, or wait-and-see. We have fewer of those than most.

Only because certain posters are trying to change the subject after a move that improved the Sox roster immensely and made this offseason a lot better. We won’t be talking the Suzuki distraction for much longer.

My kids will be overjoyed about this -- they hate having to miss the end of just about every game. It also makes attending a weekday game with kids possible. I will say that this makes it tough for me and plenty of others to make it to a weekday game after work, though.

Based on that article this seems to suck more than it appeared at first blush.

I'm all for huge steps forward, but I'm not sure why they couldn't, for example, make a big trade for a starter with assets as we know them now. I don't put too much stock in projections, particularly for teams like the Sox with young, ascendant core players. I remember you making this same argument last offseason in support of projections that had the Sox at 83 wins and 3rd place in the Central.
