  1. Just say no to Javy Vazquez. GO-AO ratio of 0.98, 0.78, and 0.80 in 02, 03, and 04 respectively. He'd get hammered in USCF
  2. To me, it's all about money. Now that ARod is a 3Bman, Jeter is the highest paid SS in the game. Due to that, he should be the best SS, no? How many of you think that Derek Jeter is the best SS in the game? That says it all for me, and proves that he is overrated.
  3. This series is too hard for me to pick...but I gotta feeling the Sawks will pull out.
  4. I remember the student section at a high school basketball game I attended chanting "ttoner" at a player on the opposing team who was busted with possession of marijuana. That was fun.
  5. There are a lot of answers I'd need to know first to be quite honest with you. I probably wouldn't pay as much for game 1 tickets as I would for any game where the Sox could clinch it(6 or 7, I suppose). I guess that'd be my main question. That being said...probably around $500-1,000. That's a lot of money, but to see the Sox in the World Series would be the best thing that could ever happen to me. EDIT: That's assuming I actually had the money. Thought it might be obvious, but maybe not...I don't know.
  6. We're not becoming the Royals If we were becoming the Royals, why on earth did KW resign Freddy Garcia, Mark Buehrle, Carlos Lee, Paul Konerko, among others? was all but resigned...for something like $14 or $15 mill a year...the only thing missing was Maggs's signature(and he's regretting not signing that contract, I guaran-f***ing-tee you that). And, technically, the A's are becoming the Royals. They were the ones not able to resign Foulke.
  7. That's almost what I'd prefer to see happen. If Crede gets off to a slow start again, but Willie starts off decently, let Juan take over practically full-time at 3B, and vice versa too. And if they both get off to a slow start, Willie hits RHP, Crede LHP...it's that simple.
  8. These two killed me...omg
  9. That they were What's done is done. Atleast we got a decent player for Koch(not that I have any clue how), even considering how absolutely brutal he was with us.
  10. Not sure I really like that smilie. I am almost hoping the Yankees give him $20+ mill.
  11. The video's also on ebaumsworld too. That's where I saw it first
  12. They took Lowe out because he was pitching on 2 days rest, and there was no reason to let him stay in.
  13. That's what I see at BR too. Go down to the bottom of the table Manny - 22.5 mill ARod - 22 mill
  14. No We had Colon the whole time. Colon made much more money then Vazquez did in 2003.
  15. Um, ok...that wasn't really meant like he really has much of a shot at becoming an all-star. I was not being real serious
  16. I'm actually thinking more of the effect Rivera *may* have had on him(though I doubt he really did), and the fact that his cutter could be very effective as the closer. I wouldn't mind seeing if he can do that for us...hell, to win, you have to take risks, right?
  17. Agreed. It was a bad trade...who cares...maybe Cotts can turn into an all-star with a little luck, and we can shove it down the A's throat. It's over and done with. That being said...I am happy for Keith. Always knew he was a good enough pitcher.
  18. This offseason will prove why something has to be done about the Yankees and their spending. Guaranteed.
  19. Willie's pretty damn fast...but I'd almost say Roberts is faster, and the fact that he can actually read a pitcher only helps him You guys see him steal that base in game 4? He's got bayou speed(thanks to Hawkharrelson for that phrase).
  20. You thought he was pissed when they lost in 2001... (if I may borrow the acronym from a certain poster on here) You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet It will be ATLEAST $225 mill, maybe more.
  21. witesoxfan

    Try this guys...

Is it a bad thing if I'm good at it?
  22. Sawks win 5-3...score is 3-3 going to the 8th, Sawks put two up against Flash, and they don't look back And then the Stros/Cards destroy them in the World Series
  23. They'd almost undoubtedly improve offensively. What scares me the most about Minnesota is that they could be much better next year. They'll have Joe Mays back...he's a Sox killer and a decent starter, Lohse will probably have an improvement upon last year, Silva will be better with a full year of starting under his belt, and Johan might be just as dominant again next year, and the bullpen will be deeper as well, while the offense won't skip a beat in all likelyhood(or may improve with a full year of Morneau and maybe Mauer if he can stay healthy) They could be scary good next year...not sure even Beltran could save the Sox..but we gotta hope he, or something, can.
