  1. I say trade Lee for a solid starter. Move Rowand/Maggs to LF, and put Harris in CF. Call up Reed is Harris starts to suck ass.
  2. Either that or he found the sweet spot of Ruben Sierra's bat. He found the sweet spot of Michael Young's bat the other day too...and Brad Fullmer's too. KC is toast. Everything came together last year, and now it has all fallen apart. Where's the pitching Tony?
  3. LMFAO Guess what White-flag did everyone? (I'll give you a hint...the game is in extras)
  4. I don't know if he'd need the World Series ring per se, but atleast a World Series appearance with him doing a lot to contribute to getting there and doing as much as he possibly could to help us win it(ala Bonds in 2002). I do agree with what you are essentially saying though.
  5. I hope that's the same Aaron Sele that's 15-4 with a 3.48 ERA all time against them with a WHIP of 1.35, a K/9 of 6.34 and a K/BB of about 2. But all I can do is hope
  6. I cheer for the Yankees only when they play a team the Sox are up battling for position against(IE, last year I cheered for the Yanks against the Twins and Royals), and of course when they play the Cubs. If they play the Tigers, I'm sure as hell rooting for the Tigers. I can't stand the f***ing Yankees.
  7. Apparently negotiations between Pedro and the Red Sox are off, for now atleast. Linky Hey, maybe the White Sox should sign him
  8. You and I think alike on this subject. I think right now, he's a HoFer, as in, if he retired tomorrow, maybe 7-10 years down the road Thomas is making his acceptance speech at Cooperstown. However, if he puts up 2-3 more good years in a row, makes the playoffs in those 2 or all 3 of those years, and makes some noise once in the playoffs, I think he could very well be a first ballot HoFer. Having the 3rd best active OPS(behind only Bonds and Helton, though he may be 4th behind Ramirez too), and in the top 10 in OPS all time(he has the highest career OPS without having it over 1.000...I believe he's at .996 or so), he should be a lock.
  9. I've wanted him to get a LH bat for about 3 years now, and he still hasn't gotten us one yet(other then Everett last year, if you count that). A very good LH bat for the middle of this lineup could be just what the doctor ordered for the offense. And by very good, I'm talking a LH bat like Delgado, not Everett. Hell, get Delgado somehow, someway, and then trade Carlos Lee and a solid prospect to New York for Cliff Floyd. Works as far as I'm concerned.
  10. Oh, is that so? So you'll take Willie's inconsistant struggles at the plate over .250 25 70 per year? Willie has nothing on Jose when it comes to batting. In the field, sometimes. On the bases, occasionally. Well, in that case, so is Jose. No, Jose just has his fits of Knoblauch-itis now and then. He won't throw it correctly, and it ends up hitting a fan not paying attention in the side of the face(or if they are paying attention, it hits an empty seat). Jose is usually a very solid SS. You are right Jeremy Reed is a LH batter. But we need LH power. Jeremy's 10-15 homers would not do us much good, other then the immediate effect of the homers. Jose hits 25-30 homers per year(usually right around 27), and regardless of him hitting .240 at the dish, he still hits those homers from the LH side of the plate, and that is huge for us. Moving Jose just makes no sense. If you want a comparison, it would be like the Bears trading Rex Grossman and going with Krenzel or Quinn as the starter, and while one of those 2 could succeed, they most likely won't.
  11. Yes it was, that makes it sweeter
  12. We also had Bartolo Colon, Tom Gordon, and a (good) D'Angelo Jimenez at 2B last year too. The fact that they weren't better is what is worse. I am perfectly happy with this team's record, considering the talent level on this team.
  13. I do agree and I think I'd rather have Soriano over Young. However, I would take Uribe over either if you can get me Garcia/Wells/Piniero/RJ/etc and a good lefty bat for the middle of the lineup. If you can get me both of those, then worry about 2B. I think Uribe and Valentin will be fine up the middle for this year atleast.
  14. I'd like either of the two in the up-the-middle combo of Texas. Either Soriano or Young would be pretty good players. We'd have to give up Cotts for sure, probably Rauch, and maybe Diaz as well. I'd rather get another starter first and foremost, and then look at a good LH bat for the middle of the lineup, then a good 2Bman. In that order
  15. By bringing up Bonds homers, you make me remember the World Series 2 years ago. That homer he had off of Percival was awwwwsome. I still don't think that thing has landed yet.
  16. Best rivalry is Yankees-Red Sox. I don't understand the huge-ass hype over it and why it has to be shown first all the time and be made into such a big deal, but it is. However, I think the most underrated rivalry in the league is Chicago-Minnesota, quite honestly. It never gets talked about, but it is definately developing into a pretty good rivalry.
  17. I hope we get to face this guy later in the season. We shall light him up.
  18. They are good cookies. Ask this guy
  19. I do believe that he never got a chance to play fulltime, with the exception of 2001 of course. Played part time in 02, traded to Montreal in 03, and was done after that. He seemed like he could turn into a pretty solid player in his career. He just never figured it out. In fact, I believe he beat Konerko out for the 1B job in 1999, but got hurt, and Konerko got it, and quite simply never lost it.
  20. I can't remember either Want another cookie?
  21. But then I would have made another name. Wait, do we want to start this again? :
  22. All I can do is hope I'm right. I personally doubt he puts up .350 50 150 1.100...just said he could put it up(and obviously anyone could put it up, but I obviously meant he had a much better shot at it then nearly anyone in the league). If I'm right, I'll be preparing for mid-October baseball.
