  1. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 17, 2015 -> 10:41 AM) http://www.purplerow.com/2015/11/16/974223...olorado-rockies
  2. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Nov 17, 2015 -> 06:57 PM) With all Rockies hitters, you have to look at their home/away splits. Charlie Blackmon for his career home: .334/.386/.501/ .887 away: .241/.283/.370/.653 Coors Field (or Denver, really) is kind of a ridiculous place for baseball to be played. Michael Cuddyer won an NL batting title there in 2013. Michael Cuddyer. And how did he do in 2012 as a member of the Rockies?
  3. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 07:31 PM) D.J. LeMahieu away from Coors field: .612 OPS for his career QUOTE (Vance Law @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 07:35 PM) Corey Dickerson career home/away splits Coors Field: 1.095 OPS Away: .695 OPS Coors Field is a silly field. It is. Can you check Carlos Gonzalez's and Matt Holliday's numbers during the same time? I am guessing that Gonzalez is at around .775 for his career, while Holliday is at .825 for his career. I would prefer the Sox stay away from the aforementioned two, but Gonzalez is a guy I like, especially if they can include Avisail. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 14, 2015 -> 07:28 AM) Losing Daniel Hudson was a devastating blow to the White Sox. One in which they are still trying to recover. Once again, hero worshipping probably cost the White Sox 2 or 3 playoff appearances. I've missed you. More than anyone else.
  4. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Nov 17, 2015 -> 10:10 AM) I guess you're talking about Robertson. Do you really think the Sox couldn't get anything but salary relief for him after what Kimbrel got ? I know Robertson isn't as young or as good as Kimbrel but he is still worth a prospect, maybe even a good one. Cali, you're awesome, but you lose, literally everything at "as young or as good." Nevermind that Kimbrel is younger on top of it too. Robertson has value, and in a world where we're realizing that high leverage situations mean more (meaning the f***ing Royals won a World Series with a pitching AAA rotation, outside of Cueto), Robertson is still making too much for that. Also, it's worth mentioning that the rest of the baseball world feels that Dombrowski overpaid badly on that trade. Recent history has proven that teams are willing to take chances on late inning relievers early in the season, and if those don't work out, they make a move for them later. If you disagree with this, excluding the trade of Brad Lidge from Houston to Philadelphia (which was a dollars on the dime trade to begin with), I'd love to see the last trade that occurred in the offseason that moved a medium salaried reliever to another team, let alone one of the highest paid relievers in the league.
  5. I kept getting f***ed up in the battle at Concord. Figured I'd played it a little at the very least. It's a super fun game though.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 04:40 PM) Can you imagine having an infield of Olt or Beckham at 3B, Saladino at SS, Sanchez or Micah at second and Abreu at first? With all due respect to Abreu, that's by far the worst infield in baseball 2016 and one of the worst in Sox history. Yes I can imagine it. I can also imagine myself with Kate Upton.
  7. The question is in the title. Why should they keep him? Why should they not? You know where I lean, but as an economist, that always garners an "it depends." I'm drunk and bored and want to light a fire. I like chaos. But seriously..why not? I've been away. Talk to me goose.
  8. Since I'm attached at the hip now, the Voyagers are currently in a 3 way tie for 1st in the North with Missoula losing to Helena today. Missoula has another game tonight, and the Voyagers are currently leading 1-0.
  9. QUOTE (ron883 @ Sep 7, 2015 -> 05:21 PM) I'm convinced this guy has major league talent. I think him an Tim Anderson will be the starting infielders in 2017. I am really excited about him and our system in general. Much improvement If Eddy Alvarez, after 33 games at A+, is starting in the majors in 2017, either something has gone horribly wrong or a minor miracle has happened. I think he's an overlooked prospect because of his age by some, but that's an incredible jump to make. Frankly, if Eddy Alvarez makes it to the majors, it'll be a success.
  10. FYI, the Great Falls games last night were an absolute blast.
  11. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Sep 5, 2015 -> 05:41 PM) Who is this masked Sox fan behind this post? Just a broken hearted poster stuck in a hotel room in Great Falls
  12. Great Falls was postponed Doubleheader tomorrow night.
  13. Addison Reed and Matt Davidson were buds too, and they got traded for each other. I wouldn't read too much into that.
  14. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 02:56 PM) Its hard to consider a team a contender if they are 6 games under .500 in August. We should probably stop the whole wildcard talk. If they can get to .500 and they are within 3 games at some point in September, than maybe we have a case. Unfortunately, I highly doubt this happens. Which means that Hahn was smart for not making any significant moves and keeping all young players in the house. And they weren't going to get much for any of their waiver wire deals anyways, so it's just fine to sit on all of it.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 2, 2015 -> 08:12 AM) Who is this posting QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 2, 2015 -> 08:57 AM) And who gives a s*** about his texts Don't tell me how to live my life, neither of you are my dad, you both have your own kids to worry about.
  16. QUOTE (gosox41 @ Aug 2, 2015 -> 07:24 AM) Haha. Doubtful on the plate discipline. Not sure why he's back here. Don't we have guys at the ML level that can hit .220, not play D, and strikeout a lot? Bob Bob, I am glad to see you are still posting, and I agree with you in this instance. That's all.
  17. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Aug 2, 2015 -> 08:28 AM) Sadly, this is what a half a century's worth of ineptitude can do to a fan base. "Be happy" for a "79-83" record because you got to see "some OK players take the field for the Sox"? I mean, really? You are perfectly fine settling for that because, why? We can tell a Cubs fan we've been to the World Series more recently than their team has? Really? Do Cardinals or Yankees or Giants or Red Sox fans have this kind of mindset and set the bar this low? Holy moly - Sox management must love you. "Accept our mediocrity, don't be mad at our routine meager results, and oh, by the way, while yer at it, come to our park, buy our tickets, purchase our parking, food and merchandise, and watch us on TV. And oh, how do ya like our OK players? Don't they look great in the '83 unis?" Lol - GMAFB!! Jesus dude. We're talking about baseball, not the Cold War. The Sox are in the race, and doing anything drastic would have been terrible. If you think I'm naive enough to believe that the Sox aren't in a terrible position as a franchise - not a ton of talent on or near the MLB roster, no room to budge in the budget, and the only real good answer is a lengthy rebuild, which would suck - then I just showed you I'm not. All the same, the Sox are currently 3.5 back of a playoff spot, have played very well of late, and it's actually fun watching them lately. Maybe relax and realize that, if they don't make the playoffs, you are not going to die.
  18. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Aug 2, 2015 -> 09:36 AM) But it is ironic. The guys rumored to be available like Kazmir, Cueto, Hamels and Price all ended up getting moved. So those teams found the right offer but the Sox didn't. I don't think the Sox really wanted to trade Shark unless they got knocked off their feet. That is okay since I actually think the FO thinks they are still in contention. But come October, if they don't at least get a wildcard and Shark walks for a comp pick, then they made a bad decision. Look at what the Marlins got for Latos That's more along the lines of what the Sox would have expected for Samardzija (maybe a little more). The difference here is that the Sox are closer to the race, really seem to like Jeff, and will have no problem offering arbitration if it gets to that point. Any offer any team made would have had to have been better than a top 50 pick. Doing nothing was totally defendable.
  19. Also, because when I'm drunk, I like to pat myself on the back, I think this is the best post I ever made on this website. I have a few of them! [this post is probably the worst post because I am now that guy that likes his own post on Facebook. I suck. But this stuff is still true!]s
  20. Because I said so. LOL, no, but I haven't been active nor present for a few months, but want everyone to know that, while I'm drunk, I still think of my White Sox stepchild. Still, consider the Sox from, say, the Giants perspective. The pieces I'd trade for as a contending team - Jose Abreu, Chris Sale, and Jose Quintana - are going to cost me way too much. The piece I'd add as a guy to fill in behind my ace - Samardzija - is having just an OK year and I get nothing back in return, so why would I trade anything of considerable value for him? And, from any team's perspective, who wants to take on Adam LaRoche for another year at $15 million? Who would even consider Alexei Ramirez at his current price? ...and that's about it offensively for players the Sox could realistically deal and not lose anything. "Still! The Sox have won 8 of their last 10 and are withing striking distance of a Wild Card! Where's their Tulo?" Jesus, settle the hell down imaginary person dissenting me. Given the talent on the team - a decent infield defense backed by a bad outfield defense with two "OK" catchers behind the plate and an offense that has finally started to hit the ball - where COULD they have added a piece that would make sense not only for this current season, but for seasons (plural) yet to come, while also NOT killing the incredibly small amount of depth the Sox have in the minor league system as it is? They have no pieces to deal (sale nor buying; minor versus major), yet are not entirely out of the race. Even if they were, they are guaranteed the services or compensation for Jeff Samardzija during the 2016 season, and really, there's no one else they could trade worth a damn. Live in the moment. When the Sox finish 79-83, be happy you saw some OK players take the field for the Sox. Then remind a Cubs fan that they suck a big fat dong. Also, remind them of World Series dates, because f*** the Cubs.
  21. Here is my text to Eminor3rd: "The White Sox bring back Viciedo. Of course they do. Can't they ever move on?" At the end of the day, it's a busted talented prospect who's young and has MLB experience who could be something but....naaaaahhhh.
  22. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 29, 2015 -> 05:19 PM) Witcher 3 is pretty great. It's almost too big, I kinda feel overwhelmed by just how much land there is to explore. Just picked it up the other day, haven't had much time to play, but it's fun so far. It always sucks because it's the beginning of a long RPG and I always want to explore absolutely everything when I do it, so I can play for like 4 hours and ultimately end up doing very little. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 08:51 AM) They are getting ready to announce Fallout 4 in about ten minutes. Bethesda has been doing a countdown thing on the website. I'm ready for this. The trailer looks awesome. I love the Fallout series.
  23. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 26, 2015 -> 12:10 AM) f*** Ventura too. I'm stuck on the couch. My sister's moving to California and I've been taking shots of Jim Beam and chasing with a double IPA to bid her farewell. this sounds like the worst mixture in history
