  2. I'm all for Alexei Ramirez getting votes; Denard Span needs some too though.
  3. I got my second composite filling today.....on one of my front teeth. For whatever reason, I am prone to landing on my front teeth.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 12:03 PM) I bet they're all hideously ugly though (well maybe not for Iowa standards). You would be surprised how many girls are genuinely pretty in this part of the country. and how many girls think they are genuinely pretty but should not be wearing that shirt and/or jeans
  5. QUOTE (DABearSoX @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 10:57 AM) But I used to smoke while watching porn...damnit uh.....did you ever...uh...burn yourself?
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 10:06 AM) I will gladly take a few guys getting thrown out here or there for being aggressive than watching our players have to choose to run through stop signs because Cox is so damn conservative. I will not, because by doing so and getting thrown out, you lose the possibility of multiple runs being scored via any base hit but especially homers and doubles. If you score, you get that run, and then a home run brings the total to the exact same that it would have been before; not worth the risk. If the offense were faster or played more like Minnesota's, then I'd love Joey at 3B; as is, prevent as many outs as you can on the basepaths and let this team try and hit their way to a divisional title. When the time calls for it, like Sunday against Tampa, then I have no problem with being overaggressive...it's been mentioned around here before. Even on a bullet like that was, the fielder has to come in, field it cleanly, and make a good throw, and the catcher has to come up with it cleanly, make a good tag, and hold on to the ball. I'd say that happens about 65% of the time, which means, unless you have Albert Pujols or Chipper Jones up there, you send that runner from 3rd.
  7. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 12:22 PM) Tue, Sep 23 @ Minnesota Wed, Sep 24 @ Minnesota Thu, Sep 25 @ Minnesota Fri, Sep 26 Cleveland Sat, Sep 27 Cleveland Sun, Sep 28 Cleveland nah, but i didnt realize the series vs cleveland was at the cell, though if i recall.. the tribe hits pretty well in our park. I hear the Sox hit well there too
  8. QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 10:55 AM) Your and wite's love of Beltre has become quite disturbing.I mean the mention of his name anywhere on the board and you guys start humping your keyboard. He isnt that great. /jacksoff
  9. QUOTE (stretchstretch @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 10:40 AM) but the Sox always do the opposite of what should happen, eg the Red Sox injuries will somehow backfire on us, believe me I wish this wasn't the case and we could count on logic, like the Twins road trip being their demise, but history just seems to show otherwise. I agree with the number up top, Twinks top us by an asshair and the Bozo's somehow eek in there. the Twins are 5-6 on the road in August; you can't ask for anything more than that. The White Sox are also 15-8 in the month of August, not counting the makeup game from last night, and are above .500 on the road in August. Why can't you count on logic? The only stretch at all that I fear the rest of the way is the 10-game roadtrip that involves 4 in New York, 3 in KC, and 3 in Minny, but even that is diminished because Minnesota will be finishing up a 10-game roadtrip at the conclusion of the KC series. Sox win 93 games and the division by 2. Don't give a s*** what Minny or Boston do.
  10. I think all anybody can do right now is hope that Linebrink is ready, healthy, and performing come about September 14th. That gets him back in time for the playoffs and for the Twins series. Otherwise, hope and pray that Russell is a stud.
  11. I love trivia...and offensive consistency. You get it in Carlos Quentin, seeing as how the only two Sox opponents this year that Quentin has not homered against are Colorado and Los Angeles, both of whom are NL teams. That's...awesome.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 12:46 AM) Yeah I'm drunk on a school night, what are you going to do about it? Merely ask you why you are home before 1 AM.
  13. Carlos Quentin, Jermaine Dye, and Brian Anderson have combined for more homers on the season than the entire San Francisco Giants. Also the White Sox are going to lead the majors in homers by a wide margin barring something drastic, as they have 21 more home runs than any other team in the majors.
  14. QUOTE (stretchstretch @ Aug 25, 2008 -> 11:40 PM) these are the games where MN being on the road counts, home games like this they seem to never lose, not just a loss, but a loss with Liriano pitching which is like two losses as far as we're concerned...... Liriano better find some better stuff; he'll walk through these lineups with absolutely no power, but teams that actually hit power pitchers - ala the Sox - could destroy him. Since coming back, he's faced the M's twice, the A's, the Royals, and the Indians. The M's, A's, and Royals are the 3 worst offenses in the AL and the Indians are a middle of the pack offensive squad. He just doesn't look as good as he did in 2006 and I didn't see anything in his stuff that screamed "ace." If anything, it looks like he's being helped by his reputation, his delivery, and gutsiness or guile or craftiness...he's not the same pitcher he was, and even though he has a 1.21 ERA since coming up, I see that going way, way up. He's still a good pitcher but I just don't see his spot in the rotation being the automatic victory that it has been since forever. In their lineup tonight, the M's had Betancourt, Balentien, Johjima, Burke, and Cairo; all 5 players have OPS's under .650. In all honesty, there might be guys on this board who could get some of those guys out, so Liriano should be able to do that as well.
  15. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 22, 2008 -> 01:48 PM) You get into a fight, by far he lands the majority of the clean shots. Bloodies your lip and puts a bunch of lumps on your face. You land one helluva shot and break his jaw. Who won the fight? Dexter St. Jock

    College

I don't start class until next Wednesday. I always get out a week later than everyone too, so I get to say suck it for now and everyone else gets to say suck it when they are done sooner than me.
  17. I am quite a large fan of Adrian Beltre. And by large, I do mean large.
  18. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 25, 2008 -> 11:08 PM) whether you were aware of it or not, RA Dickey apparently owns your soul

  20. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 25, 2008 -> 11:06 PM) 100% cereal like I said, not going to disagree...he's fun to watch but he's not worth $18 mill. The Mariners just generally suck.
  21. QUOTE (almagest @ Aug 25, 2008 -> 11:04 PM) Nah, somebody awful like Seattle or the Royals or the Nationals will DH him or something. And yes I realize the Nationals can't use the DH but that won't stop them. NOTHING CAN STOP THEM. such is the power of Miguel Cairo
  22. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 25, 2008 -> 11:04 PM) Ichiro is sucking f***ing overrated. $18M for a singles hitter. Awesome. not sure how serious you actually are, but I'm not going to disagree and he generally epitomizes the Mariners' lineup.
  23. hopefully this is Miguel Cairo's last year in the majors
