What's the minimum you would take back from the Nationals to trade him? Cards? Astros?

Which young Sox hitter/s are you most excited about?

http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=m...itting/2017/ALL Adolfo's back up over an 800 OPS. 62 K's in 198 at-bats, or 31.3%. 62/206=62/206=30% including walks in PA's. The one area he hasn't improved much is K/BB percentage. 62 k's and 9 walks (6.9 ratio), compared to his career totals of 268 k's and 44 walks (6/1 ratio, roughly). Obviously the 24 XB hits are largely carrying his OPS. (Basabe has been struggling for most of this Carolina League season in the 600-650 range, 641 OPS/221 BA. Just 11 XB hits.) -

White Sox pick 3B Jake Burger at #11
caulfield12 replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
Gaetti was a better defender...but more of a doubles guy, not close to a pure power hitter. Youkilis was never that either, obviously the walks offset not putting up 30+ homers per year. Maybe they're fairly comparable from a defensive standpoint. -
QUOTE (beautox @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 11:07 PM) before the season began i picked Jordan Guerrero as my break out candidate and after a horrid April he has been on fire. Even in April he was still limiting walks and striking out a ton of guys. I see a lot of oft injured former Cardinals pitcher Jaime Garcia in him and if the sox can get a 3/4 out of a 15th round pick that would be quite impressive. Calling our future rotation. Giolito Rodon Kopech Guerrero Hansen Giving you a bullpen/trade bait in Fulmer, Adams, Dunning, Stephens, Burdi and Lopez, among others. (And our most recent draft class, as well). I would have Hansen ahead of Guerrero, though, based on pure stuff.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 08:17 PM) Moncada and Burger as well. God that would be amazing. Add Leury Garcia to the list. Hopefully being around Hanson, Yolmer and Saladino will rub off...obviously not all of those players can fit on the roster, though. And of course you'd rather have all your future starters (Anderson/Moncada/Burger or Davidson) with the "plus" defensive skills. Avisail Garcia, etc. I guess the back-up plan for Anderson is moving him to CF with Leury at SS. C Collins 3B Burger SS Anderson/Leury 2B Moncada 1B Davidson/Delmonico/Sheets LF Luis Robert CF Tim Anderson RF Avi Garcia DH (rotating) Abreu for next two years That has the looks of an interesting offense. Plus top 5 pick next year, probably another college hitter. And a plethora of starting pitching depth in the minors to trade from to meet needs.

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 08:21 PM) The stranger thing is that we haven't even talked renewal with Avi. I suggested a while back that offer him a 6 year / $72 million extension. His market value has probably gone up $3 million per year since than and if we don't do anything soon, he'll be out of our budget. Basically, the Samardzija deal. I still think they're going to wait until the end of the season. I watched Mark Teahen hit like this for four months in Kansas City, but not for the full season, he fell off. Just like Beckham his rookie year.
-
QUOTE (turnin' two @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 08:18 PM) Eh. Not even the strangest thing this year. Avi has the pedigree and youth. Look at Justin Smoak. Much weirder. Logan Morrison comes to mind here, as well.

Really great performances recently by the bottom half of our starting rotation guys....Adams, Guerrero, Danish (his mlb start), Hickman, and more help's on the way. Jordan Stephens. Not to mention Flores, too. Plus at the least three more pitchers on the way from the draft.

Can we PLEASE bring back Omar Vizquel to work with Davidson/Delmonico/Tim Anderson?
-
You almost never see someone drill a foul home run and then follow up with an even bigger bomb...geezus.
-
Now we know why the Dodgers weren't willing to trade Bellinger. Good God, 17 homers and he came up about halfway into season. Almost not fair that LA and NYY have the two biggest young hitting stars in the game. Then, you have Corey Seager and Gary Sanchez on those teams, forgotten almost.
-
More sloppy defense....Garcia bobbled it and then was surprised Rickard was going to 2nd. Changed the composition of the entire inning.
-
2/2 in K's for Moncada. Against a rhp. Guerrero's in the top 2-3 for Southern League K's, last time I checked.

Fisher's cool just for his Boogie Nights moustache. (Guess I left Booker off the list, he seems to have some fans now, too. Jake Peter, maybe not so much. 33/34.) For me it was a tough call beween Fisher, Adolfo and Skoug. Just because Skoug sounds like Smaug's twin brother dragon from the Hobbit series. By the way, has Luis Robert passed Tim Anderson in walks this year? 3 for Luis in two games. -

Yeah, but no pre-2000 Sox mentions!!! Flavum has his projected standings/records, mine is lists, lol. I do the same thing when investing in the stock market or talking about movies. Just that investing tends to be more lucrative than SoxTalk. -
Left Tilson, Trey, Alvarez, Dedelow (power hitter from Indiana Univ with low average, outfielder), Danny Hayes, Rymer Liriano, Mendick off the list. 1A. Yoan Moncada 1. Luis Robert 2. Collins 3. Burger Let's hope we can add to this list when we deal Frazier, Robertson, Melky (mostly salary dump), Swarzak, Holland/MiGo/Pelfrey/Shields. Q, maybe, but still feeling it's doubtful until 2018 at this point. Then you have to consider that Davidson, Yolmer Sanchez, Avi, Leury have all played themselves into the Sox future to various degrees...with the possible exception of Avi due to the two remaining years on his deal (see Jose Abreu). Then you have Willy Garcia, Saladino (stock down, obviously), Omar and Kevan Smith. Now Alen Hanson as well. Cool to hear Konerko and Jim Thome already have reached out of Burger.

So we picked Hansen's teammate? Will probably see him in Kanny soon. Boomer Sooner!!!

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 12:02 PM) This just isn't true. They kept feeding him in the post with Durant and he wanted no part of him. He kept passing out of it or shooting some bizarre f***ing step backs (one which incredibly went in, to his credit, but still was a dumb ass shot). If they don't double him in the post, he has to go to the hoop. It wasn't until the very end of the game that suddenly he started taking it with authority to the basket. Secondly, he was not getting back in transition himself, but then openly yelling at his teammates when they missed assignments. Thirdly, there were three or four times when he had position on rebounds and he let guys like Pat McCall or Iggy get the rebound over him, which should never happen. I get it, these are not the largest of transgressions, but they are things that needed to be done to win a game against GS in Oakland, and he wasn't entirely focused enough to pull it off. Probably physically and mentally exhausted by the second half of that game last night...but very bizarre criticisms, I don't think so. If they were so bizarre, I don't think they would be so widely held. Green outhustled him for a key rebound in the second half too. I wish I could find the article defending the assists for LeBron, with argument that only John Stockton had ever been responsible for a higher percentage of his team's points in the finals...and that Jordan actually picked up his assist numbers similarly in his last three finals. Passes to BJ, Kerr and Paxson come to mind.
