  1. Amed Rosario also lighting it up for Rays. Another Wilson Betemit or Ryan Sweeney-esque spring training?
  2. A bit surreal watching an episode c recently after Dennis Miller died with jokes about last wills and who would die first and leaving money to each other. First Funkhouser (Dodgers' fan) and now this. Also bizarre how Cheryl Hines (his now ex wife on the show) real life husband Robert Kennedy Jr. might play a significant role in this year's election.
  3. Rays are even kicking in $650 million out of $1.3 billion. HALF.
  4. Checks box score...1 run on 11 hits. Of course. Who would want to miss 3 IP from Chad Kuhl?
  5. Curb Your Enthusiasm nod?
  6. I mean...we know it will likely be at least 7-8 guys. Not sure how many will actually deserve it, though.
  7. How finishing as the worst team in 1954 and a Branch Rickey/Getz connection led to a HoF career... "Anyway, I recently read somewhere that Clemente was the only bonus player immediately sent to the minors and thus left unprotected. I can't confirm if that's true, but Clemente was now eligible for the Major-Minor League Rule 5 Selection Committee. The Pirates, with the worst record in the National League, had the first pick. They were run by former Dodgers general manager Branch Rickey, and scouts Howie Haak and Clyde Sukeforth -- brought to Pittsburgh from Brooklyn by Rickey -- had seen Clemente during the International League season. Branch Rickey Jr. represented the Pirates at the draft and selected Clemente. The price: $4,000. And that's how the Pirates stole Roberto Clemente from the Dodgers. As a footnote: When Branch Rickey Sr. finally saw Clemente play for the first time in the Winter League after the Pirates drafted him, he was not impressed, remarking on Clemente's timid play on the bases and in the field and his disappointing foot speed. Rickey did admit, however, that the kid had a good throwing arm. Clemente had to spend the entire 1955 season on the Pirates' roster since he originally signed for more than $6,000; he hit just .255 with a .284 OBP and a .382 slugging percentage, plus five home runs, in 474 at-bats. While he hit .311 the next season, he hit just 26 home runs his first five seasons and didn't have his breakout season at the plate until 1960, when he was 25 and his power finally developed." https://www.espn.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/62869/how-the-pirates-stole-roberto-clemente-from-the-dodgers

  9. Cuban Connection wipes out White Sox order with 95-97 mph fastballs...three consecutive K's.
  10. But also nobody you could confidently say as of today they would surely be on the 2027 Sox roster with any level of confidence. Maybe Montgomery.
  11. There's another error. Perfectly placed bouncer. Payton overran it. Deivi Garcia at 97.
  12. Cleveland announcers going off on how overranked Yankees' prospects often are compared to actual MLB results of unheralded Guardians youngsters.

  14. WHITE SOX Lineup: Andrew Benintendi, LF Yoán Moncada, 3B Luis Robert Jr., CF Eloy Jiménez, DH Andrew Vaughn, 1B Dominic Fletcher, RF Paul DeJong, SS Nicky Lopez, 2B Martín Maldonado, C This group should be much better defensively, but the question remains as to how much they can produce together with the bats. Robert Jr. is one of the best all-around players in the game, and Moncada, Jiménez and Vaughn have the talent for strong years. Rotation: Dylan Cease, RHP Michael Kopech, RHP Erick Fedde, RHP Michael Soroka, RHP Chris Flexen, RHP There’s plenty of starting depth within the White Sox system, as young hurlers such as Nick Nastrini and Jake Eder aren’t far from Major League action. Garrett Crochet will be viewed as a starter for ‘24, but with 73 innings total on his resume, the left-hander might have to go to Triple-A Charlotte to build up for that new role. It’s also a big season for Kopech as part of the rotation. MLB.com You know you have problems when Kopech is your #2 and half of SoxTalk doesn't even want him in the rotation any longer.
  15. Negligible postseason odds while the rest of the division is leaving them behind in the dust. In the worst division in the game by far...the only team where fans are bereft of any hope. How is that even possible when you have your own television network to rely upon? The Madame Web of the AL.
  16. That's also the only team in MLB under .300 for OBP.
  17. White Sox almost doubling the rest of MLB in worst RS/RA ratio. Currently -35. Mariners, -17, 3-9 record and Blue Jays, -17, 3-8 record tied for 28th/29th worst.
  18. Also thought Sacramento and Salt Lake City were some of the secondary options...si or no? Portland, but they're too far off from having a feasible stadium at the moment.
  19. Fast move for Wolkow.
  20. Battle of the Catching Quero's...
  21. Oh no, here we go again with the Orioles message board invasion for six weeks in June/July...
  22. Definitely definitive utilizing all caps for additional emphasis.
