  1. The same way that Crochet is beating expectations. Motivation to play on a winning team, for one...and for a manager he actually likes and respects. Boras Corp is certainly in his ear talk about how much more marketable he would be in a "real" large market giving his 100% and playing with charm/flair/charisma like when he first came stateside his first couple of MiLB seasons and was pretty close to "must see tv" and "Mike Trout Lite."
  2. Is Feddue (see misspelling in an above tweet which testifies to his largely undiscovered status amongst all but the most diehard fans outside of Chicago and WASH) not Fondue about the best value play in the game today, other than Jurickson Profar's 2024 contract coming out of that wasteland in COL? SELL NOW. DICTATE THE MARKET AT HIS HIGH. All teams acquiring with best offer/s out of the gate get an extra 4-5 July 2024 starts to add even more additional value and separation in tight WC races...especially in the NL.
  3. A lot more impressed with this Wilson BB that has references to Des Moines Dowling HS, the University of Iowa and finally Indiana Fever in red...a lot moreso than A'ja Wilson's NIKE basketball shoe logo.
  4. More concerned about his "reasonably valued" upcoming contract years being off the books than the talent return. Idiots.
  5. Well, the Dodgers could always use yet another stud in Robert, lol. Almost getting to be unfair to the rest of the NL.
  6. Still in the game. Now tied. 4-4. 45 pitches, 2 K's, 1 BB to go with 4 H/2 HR
  7. Where the follow-up "Hahn considering a return to baseball/sports management" puff piece?

  10. The Sox aren't going to bench him for two games when the most important thing right now is proving his health and increasing his numbers/trade value.
  11. Brooks Lee getting called up by Twins (mlb.com) #13 prospect in baseball. Geez, that Royce Lewis guy sure would fit in with the White Sox. Good god how productive HE Buxton and Correa are, WHEN ACTUALLY HEALTHY.
  12. Quantity deals scare me with almost any team, but the Ortiz success with MIL gives reason for hope that the second tier of those guys in BALT can come through. Basallo is the most interesting case, as he and either Mayo or Holliday are going to become superfluous...or at least not playing at their highest/premium value position. Obviously depends on where the Sox stand with Lee/Quero and with Montgomery/Ramos/Baldwin being solutions at 3B. Of course, O's fans argued until they were blue in the fact about Mayo being able to play RF due to arm strength (a bit like a Hunter Renfroe type). Then you've got to fit Cowser, Kjerstad, Beavers, etc., into that outfield puzzle.
  13. Or Sale getting back to where he is now with ATL after seemingly five straight years of struggling/injuries.
  14. Received less than full value upon departing the organization...or NOTHING. One could argue about Giolito and Lopez, of course, depending upon your belief in the acquired players, as well as Cease.
  15. Well, isn't it easier to bet on your own internally-developed players, though? They've failed with the Lynn extension, with Lopez/Giolito/Kopech/Cease, with Rodon/Kimbrel and now with Crochet. Pretty consistent. Almost like it's deliberate.
  16. Somehow, this whole situation with Crochet (upcoming Bottom Quintile payroll, and cutting all of it but Benintendi in all likelihood) is even MORE depressing than the Semien/Swisher, Shields and Sale trades.
  17. Not to mention KB...Kris Bryant.
  18. Was this the torn Achilles' season when he didn't play almost the entire season and David Wells was acquired for Sirotka? Jose Canseco adventures (he was actually surprisingly effective that year) in the outfield occasionally.
  19. Well, we're lucky if our coaches are even known/identifiable to Robert...so the true diehards around here that are still sticking in there have a BIT more patience than normal, lol.
  20. They wanted to have him to market over the offseason...assuming they weren't even going to spend $50 million plus on a Second Tier FAs. (Somehow, one gets the feeling he will require at least one full year to make the conversion to 3B from SS, and they're not going to want to have him preoccupied with defensive adjustments like they saddled Andrew Vaughn with his first two big league seasons.) And moving Schultz to the big league club in April of 2025 would be considered management malpractice, basically.
  21. There was just ZERO need to push him so quickly. Avoiding BIRM for the most part to hit at Charlotte for 70 games was supposed to have a positive impact on his confidence. And now Ja.Gonzalez is really starting to scuffle as well after the hot start. Not surprising in the least.
  22. Related to Julius Peppers? That would be fun, but HIGHLY unlikely. More like Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
  23. There's always a chance the runner is ruled out for leaving early, or two, slips and falls down somewhere along the way, or three, Gimenez doesn't go full bore, assuming the Sox aren't even going to attempt to throw him out.
  24. Well, they definitely treated Konerko the best, from JR all the way down to the fans. Same with Mark Buehrle. And Rowand/Crede/Thome to a lesser extent.
