  2. Hasn't Stone missed or deliberately skipped (road trips) more games than Benetti in Detroit this year? It's gotta be some type of karmic justice that he gets the Sox at home the last three games at home as they possibly clinch a playoff spot...just ike Tatis getting key hits these last two games as well. Someone "upstairs" has a sense of humor at least.
  3. Pretty sure KC first rounders from late 80s through Moustakas/Homer drafts would clinch worst set of first rounders.
  4. But he's actually really good at college football with Brock Heard and college basketball as well (solid). Schiffren isn't even good at one thing... besides manufacturing false enthusiasm/shilling for the worst product in the history of the game.
  5. Hard to imagine even Hahn and Haber would have done worse...despite their public silence stance.
  6. See Bears for the majority of post 1985.
  7. Don't forget Fletcher's DRS numbers are simply off the chart...overlooking his putrid offensive performance. And Vaughn/Sheets will finally realize their potential. Benintendi will play well enough to get dumped for the likes of Julks DeLoach Ortega. One of the live arms in the pen will eventually master control...Berroa or Iriarte, magic ally morphing into the next Santos so we can flip them since losing teams don't need closers.
  8. Except he's never going to be the type of hitter that puts up massive offensive numbers that generate headlines. Much more likely expectations should be lined up with Omar Narvaez...but better defensively at an earlier age.
  9. Basically arguing nobody could have done much better due to the limitations or parameters set by JR. The problem is that Fedde and Crochet were the only two real positives, with one positive 100% negated by the negative of Vargas. Which only leaves Crochet...as long as his health holds.
  10. Someone to analyze beyond his baseball card numbers and go into the advanced peripherals...such as quality of contact against, ground ball percentage, inferior Sox infield defense as well as poor positioing, batted ball velo etc.
  11. Goals for 2025 "The White Sox might be the only team in baseball that should be satisfied with finishing last overall next season. This is an organization that needs to follow the lead of teams such as the Orioles and Astros, who fell to the cellar for multiple years before using their draft picks to build a sustainable contender. Still, there are other ways for Chicago to measure success. Even though the team will have a losing record, it should strive to be much more competitive in 2025. It’s time to put an end to memorable losing streaks, and for the sake of the younger players, this team needs to develop a competitive mindset next year. Beyond the scoreboard, 2025 success in Chicago will be measured by the improvement of the organization’s younger players. Position players such as Vargas, Robert and Vaughn need to take a step forward or bounce back. Crochet, assuming he stays with the organization, must continue to establish himself as a workhorse. Young pitchers such as Cannon, Thorpe and Ky Bush need to make progress toward being trusted rotation members. And hopefully, some of the minor leaguers mentioned above can give White Sox fans a glimpse of a brighter future." Not really anything new. Hard to consider Bush a top rotation candidate...Burke would definitely be the rising star possibility after his two starts. Crochet and Robert 90% of focus. And the usual MiLB suspects like Schultz Smith Montgomery Quero. Astros/Orioles comps completely useless if they can't enjoy consistent run of Top 1-5 first rounders over 3-4 years of bottoming out. Stupid Yahoo Sports keeps changing their headlines and then there are numerous others like Bell firing in Cincy under the same link.

  15. Why would you want to tarnish his name by forever affixing it to the 2024 Sox team? Wasn't he experiencing back problems weeks ago? Of it's only to sit on the bench and observe and be inspired to fight for the starting role in 2025...but they would still be short circuiting his development by a half season in the minors.
  16. I should have said if they get mowed down by AL East/West opponents like NY, Balt and Houston.
  17. For example, treated Benetti more like he would a typical White Sox fan, rather than privileged "insiders" like KW, Hahn and Boyer. Basically, Jason was too "blue collar" in his behavior and not a true BLUE blood. An other, to him personally. Despite the fact he grew up a dyed in the wool White Sox lifer. His effort at putting him in his place or not letting Benetti get too big for his britches backfired spectacularly.
  18. Until they brought in Miggy via trade and drafted Verlander...yeah.
  19. Then you have to consider the cost of living in Chicago, it should be a $60-75,000 position but they're relying on twenty-somethings to have their parents subsidize salaries and all those kids to remain living at home indefinitely in order to save money.
  20. More middle infielders without any dominant tools...more please. Baldwin Gonzalez coming next to an infield near you.
  21. So Marlins Mets DBacks and Red Sox. Ties to AJ Hinch of all people. Marlins have broken many a front office executive and scout over the years. Not a straight line of service with the Mets going back to 2009.

Based on a tweet from MLB insider Jon Heyman, it appears Keller was hired back by the Mets in 2017. He is currently listed as a “Special Assignment Scout” on New York’s staff directory. https://www.soxon35th.com/white-sox-hire-david-keller-to-run-international-scouting-department/
