  1. $13ish million for two months? Not unlike Clevinger then....that was around $8 million for around 6-8 starts.
  2. The biggest disaster would be getting a bunch of prospects that busted or underperformed ala the Sale trade for the most part....Moncada with two very good seasons and another decent one not close to equaling peak Sale on a quite affordable deal to that time.
  3. Even then you're going to get a Tier C prospect at best with something like $17.5 remaining for three months if you include the 2025 buyout.
  4. Of course the Twins have Dan Hayes now and Sox fittingly lost James Fegan…only reason at all to cover team from a media standpoint is Luis Robert, Jr. and potential Cease trade. Colson Montgomery debut third.
  5. Correa deal killed them. Astros far better off with Pena financially. Heck, Twins had Lewis all along but those two knee injuries temporarily derailed him. Then you’ve got Buxton as well. And had to let Sonny Gray go, who will finish Top 3 in Cy voting. That said, who is threatening their Central spot? Cle and Detroit…but not really. Another team victimized by losing out on their Bally/RSN money. But ownership group far richer than JR.
  6. Except we have one of the worst fields for playing that style….Old Comiskey, sure.
  7. Bellinger feels like at least $125-150 million coming off a 2023 MVP votes type of season and possesses the ability to play two positions (especially CF) so well.
  8. Gorman and Carlson...Walker and Carlson. Both guys make that a hard trade for StL unless something else goes the other way.
  9. Soto is under control for 2024 until projected ARB salary of $35-40 millionish dumped from payroll.
  10. Opposite of Madrigal gap power...doesnt hang up long.
  11. Gorman and Jordan Walker defensively challenged. Sox desperately need pop though. Nootbarr seems like tough trade target with current depth chart. (They can't trade both Gorman and Walker seemingly.) Carlson ideal fourth outfielder and certainly better than Colas. Cease?
  12. Bounced around a lot the last three years. Three different teams. Yankees and Angels with Ohtani/Trout high profile. Marlins more like the current Sox in 2022.
  13. Too much to ask/expect apparently. Too expensive as well...which is totally weird for a team wasting so much money on big league roster year after year. Why not try something different?
  14. Viciedo really had issues....same with Brian Anderson. Rowand/Crede 2-3 years to get established. Avisail Garcia bounced so many directions after promising debut in Detroit.
  15. At least not Craig Monroe ??? Marcus Thames New York Yankees After the 2015 season, the Yankees dismissed Jeff Pentland as their hitting coach, promoted Alan Cockrell, their assistant hitting coach, to replace him, and promoted Thames to the role of assistant hitting coach.[23] After the 2017 season, the Yankees dismissed Alan Cockrell as their hitting coach and promoted Thames to hitting coach.[24] His contract was not renewed for the 2022 season.[25] Miami Marlins On November 17, 2021, Thames was hired by the Miami Marlins to serve as the team's hitting coach for the 2022 season.[26] Los Angeles Angels On November 7, 2022, the Los Angeles Angels hired Thames as their hitting coach for the 2023 season.[27]
  16. Well, must have seen writing on the wall with incoming new Vogt regime in CLE.
  17. Crying MJ replaced by Crying Caleb https://sports.yahoo.com/uscs-caleb-williams-showed-with-tears-that-money-isnt-everything-225154464.html
  18. Penix is lousy at creating outside pocket and limited escapability. Need the best OL in sport to protect him.
  19. Two worst offenses in sports!
  20. https://www.fangraphs.com/players/paul-dejong/18015/stats?position=SS AVERAGING a 0.5 fWAR over the FOUR previous seasons. Guess you could round up to 0.6 or 0.7 because of limited Covid year opportunities. Middle infielders reaching or approaching the wrong side of 30. He is what it says on the back of his baseball card. Below-average veteran. Brilliant.
  21. Cutting 75% of employees is LESS than they were reported to be (planning on dumping after the season)...at least what was reported around the time of the Hahn/KW departures...
