Sox Select Remillard & Justin Anderson; DFA Shaw
Needed more frequent flyer miles for JR...

Well, except for Tatis Jr., whose father basically brought him to KW/Paddy and pretty much begged for the Sox to sign him. That could have opened up the DR flood gates.

Ohtani's interpreter fired for stealing money
The crazy part is the agent never once directly spoke to Ohtani...always through the interpreter. They tried to get tax information about the account/s (for gift or interest income purposes) but were repeatedly rebuffed, apparently. Makes one wonder who even came up with the tax deferral structure for the 2024 and beyond contract...was it the agent, interpreter (that would go directly against his interests in feeding those accounts THIS year with Ohtani salary disbursements), the Dodgers maintained this tax strategy came directly from the Ohtani camp. All of the salary coming from the Angels (something like $47 million) from his rookie year through last season went into this singular account...and when access got temporarily blocked, the interpreter knew everything about Ohtani's personal life to get through the bank sequence of personal questions to get the account access/ability to disburse money UNblocked. Insane...and that the interpreter also impersonated Ohtani in calls to the bank as well.

Curse of the (Coca) Colas...whoever that "next tier" prospect in the Sox system is seems to struggle mightily. This year, Ramos.

Vaughn just has two more arbitration years left. $3.25 million this year.

White Sox with "next man up" mentality
Honestly didn't even realize he had been part of the Sox organization...albeit ever so briefly.

White Sox with "next man up" mentality
That really stood out, even more than denialism or obliviousness over any responsibility for the Moncada injury. I will put that more on Getz for not putting a $29 million investment on the IL and taking that option away from Grifol...unless they are getting more cash back from the injury through insurance subsidy pay outs than from any potential June/July trade return.

Just don't think we should give up on Vaughn or send him to AAA based on 12 games. That's all. He's already pretty much a sunk cost for this season anyway. That said...it's doubtful the Sox have anyone other than Frank Thomas in the studio to fix him, either.

2024 MLB News not AL Central related
Closer Mason Miller of the A's just threw a 103.7 mph fastball. Last guy to beat that number was Jhoan Duran, who is of course out injured with the Twins due to wear and tear from his size and landing his front foot. Or Ben Joyce of the Angels/Vols.

White Sox with "next man up" mentality
Especially when the dream (or illusion/fantasy) of a 30/30 type of player died years ago...I mean, Burger was consistently beating him in sprint speed last year.

Guess Trade Values of Sox Starters
9. Garrett Crochet, White Sox It raised some eyebrows when the White Sox bestowed their Opening Day start on Crochet, who had pitched exclusively in relief in the Majors and had returned from Tommy John surgery late last season. Well, now Crochet is opening eyes. The 24-year-old lefty, the 11th overall pick in the 2020 Draft, has a 2.00 ERA and 21-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio through his first three MLB starts. 9th in MLB starting pitching power rankings...right ahead of Cole Ragans.

Colas
Better to just trade Vaughn then...for the equivalent of Popeye Rodriguez. Of course...going all in on Sheets (or Lee) based on the results 10+ games or whatever is eventually going to be equally as foolhardy.

Getz and Pedro should go. Product on the field is horrible.

Smash Burgers may become a favorite food for Miami Marlins fans, a meal popularized by an emerging star whose parents talked him out of quitting baseball five years ago. Jake Burger hit a three-run homer on his 28th birthday, propelling the Marlins over the New York Yankees 5-2 for just their second win this season. He leads Miami with three homers and 15 RBIs, reviving a career that was interrupted for nearly four years because of a foot injury and the coronavirus pandemic. http://www.google.com.hk/search?q=smash+burgers+jake+marlins&sca_esv=d422ceb1a630167d&sca_upv=1&tbm=isch&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjW4JLgv7mFAxVKE1kFHSNkDsMQ_AUIBygC&biw=363&bih=653#imgrc=9cdEaN-eMEFfcM Burger said a turning point was a 2019 conversation with his mom, Shannon, at a Which Wich in St. Louis followed by a heart-to-heart at home in suburban Chesterfield, Missouri, with his dad, Mike. “Fortunately, my parents had a more level head than I did and ended up talking me out of it, saying, `Don’t regret anything in life and if you quit, you’re going to regret it,'" Burger said. "And so I’m thankful for them. They’re a major part of the story and major part of me being where I’m at today.” Obtained from the Chicago White Sox last summer, Burger is among the few bright spots on a team that is a major league-worst 2-11. Burger already had a memorable game this year. He homered twice off Lance Lynn last Thursday during his first big league appearance in his hometown of St. Louis, where growing up he went to about 20 games annually dating to old Busch Stadium. He sat below the new ballpark's Big Mac Land in left field with Little League buddy Kyle Kinner and watched the Cardinals rally in the ninth, 10th and 11th innings to beat Texas in Game 6 of the 2011 World Series en route to the title. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/smash-burger-5-years-nearly-040903989.html

JR won't consider eating that contract until 2027.

4/10 Sox @ Guardians 5:10PM CT
There will be many more "lose from ahead" losses over the course of the season like this one. Can't give the Guardians so many chances when you should have put them away earlier.

4/10 Sox @ Guardians 5:10PM CT
Blame JR and Getz and Hahn..not Shaw.

4/10 Sox @ Guardians 5:10PM CT
Those two runs not scored from third base killed them...and of course the lack of high quality bullpen depth. Grifol should have had the sense to pull Fedde earlier but got away with it.
