  2. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 24, 2012 -> 06:32 PM) I tend to agree. I'm not near as disappointed in the last three seasons as I was with the early wipe-outs in regionals. I actually thought last season Jamieson did a good job considering the lack of talent. The Tigers were not blowing a 6-0 Big12 tourny championship game lead away from another regional... All that said, unless Jamieson brings in some MASSIVE transfers, next season is going to be a complete disaster in their first year in the SEC. Next year is the final year of his contract. I would assume, barring a miracle, that would be the end of his tunure at Mizzou. I'm pretty sure he's gone unless they magically win the Big 12 tourney this year. So I've heard at least.
  3. Yeah, all that talent and limited postseason success. Jamieson got a longer than deserved leash in my mind. I know people thought this year was supposed to be better, but the offensive talent is laughable.
  4. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 24, 2012 -> 03:49 PM) As a Mizzou guy who has seen this guy pitch in person...I would LOVE Andrew Heaney. I don't know when you got to Mizzou, but it's sad what's happened to the baseball program there. They had loads of talent, but the last few years have just been awful.
  5. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ May 22, 2012 -> 09:13 PM) Not terribly concerned about Saladino. Walking a lot, not striking out a bunch, and it's his first season in AA. If he makes solid progress in the 2nd half of the season he'll be fine. Only 23. He seems to be hitting better away from Birmingham as well. .830 OPS away and .627 at home. Leads the SL in walks, 5th in on-base.
  6. Hey Oklahoma City it's the second f***ing round. Get a grip.
  7. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 21, 2012 -> 06:47 PM) Today's online rumors have FSU and Clemson to the Big 12, with ND bringing all other sports with a plan for full membership. That'd be a home run. I'd be happy with just the non-revenue sports. LOL aren't we done with this yet?
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 21, 2012 -> 04:58 PM) My usual standard for how interested I am in a movie is how long it takes me to unconsciously decide to look at my watch to see how much longer the film has. Most movies I last about an hour. Something I'm suffering through will last 30 minutes. For the Avengers, didn't check it once. I think I checked three or four times. Once the action got going it was entertaining, but it was a bit slow in the middle.
  9. 2 walks for Ravelo tonight. He's getting better with that.
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 21, 2012 -> 02:36 PM) You have high standards my friend. I kind of agree with him though. I would say better than OK, but it wasn't one of the best movies I've seen or even close.
  11. Knights lost 6-0 Barons lost 5-1 Quintana 5.2 IP, 3 ER Dash lost 5-2 Hat trick for Thompson Intimidators lost 7-1 Jaye started
  12. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 20, 2012 -> 11:46 AM) Mitchell cooling off but Phegley looks good Phegley is hitting .167 in May.
  13. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 19, 2012 -> 04:33 PM) Chelsea beats Munich, pretty good last 60 minutes. Good drama regarding Bayern's late goal and Chelsea's answer (and to some extend Robben's blown PK), but Chelsea is boring. They aren't good enough to play with good teams so they just defend and pray. Napoli's lack of experience cost them against Chelsea when they had them dead to rights. Chelsea put 9 in the box to defend Barca and got away with it. Against Bayern they got lucky while Munich flubbed chance after chance until PKs. This is like the 06 Cards winning the World Series. They weren't a good team, but have the crown somehow.
  14. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ May 19, 2012 -> 09:29 PM) If you just take Independence Day for what it is there is absolutely nothing wrong with it as a movie. I don't think there is anything wrong with that movie and I didn't mean to imply that. However, Battleship looks and sounds like s***.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 19, 2012 -> 08:33 PM) Hernandez with another very good start. On quite the roll now. Lack of Ks though. He's probably just a reliever so getting worked up about stats is somewhat pointless. Maybe his K rate goes up as a reliever.
  16. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ May 19, 2012 -> 12:49 AM) How it should have gone: 1. Scientist sees something on radar 2. Summon the joint chiefs! 3. It landed in the ocean! 4. Send everything we got! 5. MASSIVE KILLTACULAR 6. Ships sinking everywhere, aliens gettin' rocked by the latest and greatest 7. Liam Neeson suicides a nuclear aircraft carrier into the mothership, saving the world 8. USA USA USA USA USA USA USA WE DID IT We have an all time classic. So Independence Day in the water?
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ May 18, 2012 -> 07:42 PM) Ravelo 2-2, both doubles. He's quite the streak hitter. Finished with 3 doubles. He's showing some power lately. Hopefully it keeps up.
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 18, 2012 -> 04:00 PM) We have ourselves a franchise closer. Reed was un-phased. Addison f***ing Reed. Love it
  19. Ha Beckham gets the 'anything is possible' graphic treatment for his HR. The way he's been hitting this year that's far too fitting.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 18, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) it's better than listening to Hawk IMO I'll never understand people of this opinion. Len Kaspers' voice is like nails on a chalkboard for me.
  21. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 18, 2012 -> 03:13 PM) Len Casper: "Well, Samardzija has been swinging the bat extremely well" Yea, his 0-14 this season really highlighted that. Stop watching that garbage broadcast.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 17, 2012 -> 09:48 PM) Mitchell with his 29th RBI, at .279. The Carlos Sanchez, Phegley and Ravelo bandwagons have slowed a bit...but none moreso than Tyler Kuhn. What's wrong with Sanchez? .313 average, .382 OBP. Granted he doesn't have much power, but at least he isn't one of the hitters with inflated stats at BB&T.
  23. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 17, 2012 -> 05:09 PM) Where do you get the minor league splits from? Milb.com player pages (Septimo).
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 17, 2012 -> 07:52 AM) Can you jinx Morel and Gordo? Every time I watch them step up to the plate I'm trying to.
  25. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 16, 2012 -> 10:47 PM) How long before the Sox call up Septimo and DFA Ohman? He's probably not all that different. He walks a lot of righties. Would have to be used exclusively against lefties. Ohman dominates lefties, but can't get righties out.
