That is just a horrendous deal for the Blue Jays. They shouldn't even trade Nay for Beckham straight up, let alone trade him and Loup and Cardona. Nay is their #3 prospect according to Fangraphs.

SP Brody Colvin and RP Zach Thornton are the guys I want.

I'll just go ahead and post my spitball trade here, instead of the winter meetings thread, since this isn't a rumor, just an idea..... Jays-Sox-Mariners. Sox get 3B Brett Lawrie and SS Chris Taylor Mariners get CF Colby Rasmus and P Scott Snodgress Jays get 2B Gordon Beckham, RP Nate Jones, IF Carlos Sanchez, C Jesus Montero, and P Edwin Diaz For those who don't know who Chris Taylor is...he was a 5th RD pick by the Mariners in 2012, and was just named their minor leaguer of the year for 2013. He was drafted as a glove-first SS with great speed, but since then he has dramatically improved his offensive capabilities. In 2013 across A+ and AA ball, he hit .314/.409/.455. He stole 38 bases in 43 attempts. He hit 11 triples and 8 HR, and he walked 84 times to 117 Ks. He is 23 years old and would be a great fit to take over for Alexei, especially if we trade Alexei next offseason.

My stats teacher in HS used to do a thing right before the final at the end of every year where we would shoot a little foam basketball in to a trashcan for extra credit on the final. Point value was based on distance, which was marked with desks lined up. So you get like 1 point if you score from the first desk in the row, then 2 pts from the 2nd desk, 3 pts from the 3rd desk back, etc. Was not educational in any way, but it was a fun way to spend half a class earning Extra credit.

There is absolutely no reason to give up on Viciedo yet. Give him another year in LF, then let him naturally move right in to the DH role in 2015 where he can just focus on being a great hitter. Then if he still can't hit as a full-time DH, then you can worry about moving him, which will be when he is still only age 26 and under contract. I mean, who else is going to DH for this team in 2015? We have no power studs in the minors who don't have a position. Our best bet would be like Andy Wilkins.
