2011 AL Central Catch-All Thread
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to Balta1701's topic in The Diamond Club
I see Joe Nathan has a case of the Matt Thorntons. Glad he is on my fantasy team. -
QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 11:17 PM) I'm waiting for a review before I download. I was disappointed by the last tape he put out. Not that good. There are 2-3 songs on it I really like, and that's it. Just like his last mixtape. Donnis seems to be VERY hit or miss.

2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (oldsox @ Apr 16, 2011 -> 11:27 AM) Anyone know how long Juan Pierre is under contract with Sox? Just this year, but for future reference, here is a great site for contracts.... http://mlbcontracts.blogspot.com/2005/01/c...-white-sox.html -
How many of the losses have the Sox actually been "beaten"?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 16, 2011 -> 04:21 AM) I can't even get mad about this loss. They started arguably the best non Felix Hernandez starter in the AL and we started Joecoolman, I mean, um, somebody that's not really good. Hmm...I'm not sure even how to respond here. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 06:12 PM) You need to pick a game... it's either 2k or the Show. If you it's the Show, yes, the Sportsconnect was disabled. Thankfully I DL'd an updated roster days before the new game released. You'd have to DL the file from the interwebs and place it on a USB drive to do so now (or know someone who has updated rosters). What? Sportsconnect has been disabled? What the hell do you mean? EDIT: Nevermind, I just realized he said 2010. I assume you mean you can no longer go on line w/ last years game. Phew! I thought you meant they shut down the online version for this years game.

Jacob Petricka followed up his 6 IP no-hit, 79K performance with a 5 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K. On the year he now has 11 IP, 4 H, 2 BB, 16 K, 0.00 ERA, 0.55 WHIP, 8 K/BB.

I didn't see any of this game, but I am not pissed off we lost. This game chalked up as a lost in the pitching match up anyway. But in the boxscore, I am very happy to see our bullpen pitched 4 scoreless innings. Gray looks like he was probably able to work out of trouble, and Santos with another very strong inning. Even Ohman did well somehow!
-
Zaleski having a nice start to his year, too bad he is almost 30.
-
It feels like Silverio has been with this organization for like 6 years.
-
If Santos can keep that slider at the knees or lower, he is going to tear through the 9th inning.

QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 14, 2011 -> 08:01 PM) I KNOW! I can't believe that no one else has seen it! I don't get it. What's so funny about Frank Thomas? -
New DONNIS mixtape. Haven't listened to it yet, I've got class.

Just started watching The Borgias. Outside of the language that can be a little tough to understand, the show is great. I love the planning and plotting of all the different people. Also, really reminds of me Assassins Creed 2, one of my favorite games.

2010-2011 NHL thread
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I'm not discouraged. Of the only two periods Versus allowed me to watch (2nd and 3rd), the Hawks looked like the better team, but was just unlucky. Could have easily had 3 or 4 games. I'm not demoralized yet. -
Could Kenny be looking for a new closer already?
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Hanrahan interests me the most in terms of a team that might be willing to deal already, and a closer who is cheap. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 05:38 PM) Can we just skip the Weaver/Haren games? Why? We will inevitably lead in the game at some point before the bullpen blows it. I fear our own bullpen more than I fear any opposing starter in baseball.
-
QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 05:21 PM) Ok, it's been cute and all, and I guess we're lucky to be 7-5 after 12 games, but Sergio Santos needs to be the closer for the next 150 games. Enough. And I'm almost ready to say Sale needs to go to Birmingham to start 23 games. Good lord, please send him down to start. He clearly isn't doing anything positive for us in Chicago right now, might as well try to salvage him and try to continue his career path now.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 05:35 PM) We have at least 5. Not in this series.
-
Fun little stat....... Here are the numbers for our starters this series..... 20 2/3 IP, 14 H, 4 ER, 6 BB, 12 K 1.74 ERA, 0.97 WHIP And 0 wins to show for it. Now for our bullpen....... 9 1/3 IP, 14 H, 9 ER, 4 BB, 12 K 8.68 ERA, 1.93 WHIP And 2 blown saves to show for it.
-
Anyone know how many games we have lead after 8 innings? I would venture to guess that our record would be about 9-3 or 10-2 had games ended after 8.
-
Not me personally, but I can see why no one wants to go watch this team play. 20K a night seems about right.
-
Is this 4 of our past 5 games in extra innings now?
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 05:00 PM) Doesn't Adam Dunn make a lot of money? How bout doing something soon, Mr. Dunn. Yeah, it's not like he has stitches in his stomach right now or anything. He's a bum, amiright?

QUOTE (peanut33tillman @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 04:36 PM) Ozzie is the utmost worst manager in baseball when it comes to dealing with BPs an absolute moron. At this point, I think ANYONE who comes in to the game in the 9th is going to look like s***. It's not like we have a lights out bullpen pitcher he should be using. Santos is the only guy who is doing great, and he pitched 2 innings yesterday.
-
Bobby must be chuckled his lard ass off somewhere right now. Our bullpen is just comical. I can only laugh now when I see this meltdown day in and day out.
