What is with this team and giving up homers

Actually, from what we've seen all year... hit it to anyone except Robert and Moncada if he's not in a wheelchair

Cubs game plan: hit it to 2B

Comedy of errors

Rest of the team can't hit anyway, so might as well play Colas in right for his defense and see if he can figure anything out at the plate.

They had more than enough chances to score a bunch of runs. Can’t have half the lineup hitting .200 or below and expect to win.

Just too many big holes in this lineup

Giving up a double with 2 strikes on Vazquez is hard to do

Colas took “be more patient” a little too literally…

Wow an actual sac fly and not a dribbler or a strikeout

BAH he had a pitch to hammer and was out in front.

TA getting curved to death

Jake back to swinging at balls and taking strikes

Wolkow is 17 and hit most of these balls over 100 mph, including one at 109.9, with a wood bat. Nice short swing, too. He’s gonna be a monster if he can work out the swing and miss issues.

Gio ain’t got it tonight

So he's a no-bat DH then? Wonder who can use one of those...

Don't need to help the pitcher that much. Grandal is bad enough on his own right now.

This is the reverse score that I expected

Putting the first two hitters on against this team is a bad idea

Vaughn has no plate discipline anymore

Burger heating up! That ball was CRUSHED

Hey look at that a hitter who doesn't flail at everything once he's down 0-2 draws a ...walk? Is that what it's called? What an exciting new brand of baseball.

Good start to the second half

I mean... we still are, AND he blew a bunch of money irresponsibly. If the Sox didn't waste so many draft picks leading up to and during the "window", or were able to actually develop some of those players (eg Crochet as a starter), we might be in an entirely different spot right now. Or we'd at least have been under no illusion about a quick-ish path back to competitiveness.

Dude, he has a back injury. The same thing that killed Crede's career. Maybe he's a dickhead or acts like he doesn't try, I have no idea, but I can absolutely tell you back injuries kill careers.
