Wow. I saw that the game was 1-0 Washington at around 6 and didn't think much of it. Then I looked up the score 10 minutes ago and my jaw just kind of dropped. 17 innings now!

Looking at the replay of Young's double...why the hell would you throw him a slider? If you miss with a slider to him, you better miss wide. He's punished them this year. If you go look at Delmon Young's pitch-type value chart, in every good season he's had, he's had a positive value against sliders, which means he's probably not chasing crap sliders in the dirt.

Delmon Young is one of the few hitters that I've seen that's bad in the regular season, but is an absolute monster in the post-season. It's so weird.

He can hit for a mediocre average all he wants, but if he's going to put up an ISO barely above .100, that's not going to cut it.
