It's so weird, cause I was told earlier in this thread that only white people did the chop.
-
Holy shit. Spot on.
-
Well, also, guys on teams say that shit to each other all the time. Maybe not as much currently, but to say that was something so uncommon that everyone would notice or remember hearing that specific instance is crazy. I played on enough teams when I was young and between the locker room, practices, games, that shit happened. Not condoning it, but just saying, it was super common. Saw and heard enough fucked up shit to sadly make me realize that what we are hearing about is far more common than most people would possibly believe. No one would root for any team if everyone came forward. I mean hell, there was a certain big time pitcher on the Cubs semi recently that would sometimes go in and piss on other guys while they were showering to fuck with them. Some guys in locker rooms do some messed up stuff. Hazing, harassing, etc. No idea why.
-
Shitty stuff all around. I think what some people need to also think about is, sadly, this type of shit and other shenanigans have most likely happened in almost every single locker room to varying degrees over the years. Doesn't matter the sport, the city, or the team, the locker room. I would be willing to bet there are numerous things that have occurred that were covered up, or not reported because of fear of getting cut, fired, released, traded, etc. Would not surprise me one bit if reports start coming out about other incidents happening in other organizations now that this has been made public and the victim coming forward.

Yep, 100% agree. It could also have something to do with all the extra people, etc, there for the world series that put a wrinkle in what they were doing. But watching the game yesterday, they looked normal at the plate. Like they were getting fooled on pitches, etc, instead of laying off perfect breaking pitches like they had the previous two series. Just have to wait and see. I hope it's that Atlanta is switching signs up constantly because they had a feeling something was going on. That they are always just one step ahead of the cheating pricks.

You do know you can still get and transmit Covid even if you are vaccinated, right? It just lessens the severity of the infection. So I'm not sure why players testing positive is coming as a surprise to anyone at this point.
-
Unreal. This is what happens when MLB turns a blind eye and does nothing to the players when they got caught doing it previously. Fucking joke.
-
Like I said, they are good players. The sad thing is, they don't need to cheat. That's honestly the most fucked up part about it. It's not like they were a team consisting of guys like Keenyn Walker or Courtney Hawkins.
-
Exactly. They are still doing it, just more selectively. They learned that there was no accountability for the players themself when they did it last time. So why wouldn't they do it again? Also pretty amazing that a bunch of the guys on the team had worse years at the plate last year compared to the previous year and this season. AMAZING, truly amazing I tell you. These are guys that were decently good at baseball, but just over the top when they cheated. It's obvious and it's fucking pathetic that none of those cucks were actually suspended for it.
-
Remember the Yankees called them out on whistling and Hinch talked mad shit about how silly that was?
-
Think you are going to hear more chatter about the Red Sox and their fans thinking something was amiss with the Astros batting, yet again, especially late in the game. Tucker lays off a perfect breaking pitch right there and doesn't swing over it, but annihilates the next pitch fastball that he was just sitting on. I can guarantee you Tepera wouldn't have said anything unless he and others on the team had an idea something was up. Don't forget it was it was Farquhar that noticed it a few years ago and brought it to light.
-
There is no doubt in my mind they are. They are just more selective when they do it now. It's electronic, not a primitive trash can. And why wouldn't they? Nothing happened to the cucks last time they did it. The players stole a World Series and nothing happened to them.
-
Boston has to know the shitstros are up to something. After all, their manager would know a thing a two about it. But after a hit in the 9th, they went out had a meeting and then the catcher went back out and went over signs again. First two batters had no idea at the plate and were guessing. Then shitcans have scored seven runs already. Doesn't help that joke of an ump missed a 3rd strike call that would have ended it. There is no doubt in my mind they are still using some sort sign stealing. The players already know nothing happened to them the first time. So why not do it when they need to? What a fucking joke.

Yea but you can't spend a dollar if you only have 50 cents. Or whatever that dumb fuck quote was. You'll get Eaton 2.0 and you will thank us, says the front office.

I suggested trading him for the following reasons. You hopefully use the trade to fill the whole Hahn created at 2B, or RF and get a pitcher that can both play on the big league club next season. They have far too many holes and no way there is enough money to fill them all. Then you slot Vaughn in RF, freeing up a roster spot for Sheets. It isn't about selling low on Eloy at all. It's about using him to upgrade the team in other positions which they sorely need. We aren't the Dodgers with a 450 billion dollar payroll. Hahn is going to have to get creative to upgrade the team and I think Eloy is an opportunity to do that.
-
Yep. Shameful. It's amazing how a powerful union can keep all these guys employed. Some of them are fucking down right awful at their profession and there are zero consequences for it. Calls like that should able to be challenged and robo strike zone can't come soon enough.
-
Awful call to end the game. You don't call that from first unless you know for a fucking fact that he went. Which he didn't. Umps are trash.

Nitengale: La Russa "definitely" returning to the Sox
soulfly replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Well isn't that just great. We were already in worse shape this off season than we were after last off season. This just keeps that train rolling. Dude is going to fuck up this whole window, isn't he? I just don't see how this same core actually gets better and gets over the hump with Tony at the helm next season. That said, we still all knew he was coming back. Doesn't mean it doesn't suck. -
Ozzie says intent doesn’t matter with Abreu beanings

I think that's why we said specifically over Tony, haha. -

Oh man I would take Ozzie back in a heartbeat over Tony. There isn't even a debate in my mind. -
Honestly, I think he is the main guy to trade like they did Carlos Lee in '04. Use him to fill two other holes on the team. Grab a stud pitcher and either a RF or 2B. Slide Vaughn over to LF and sign a 2B or RF that you didn't get in that trade. Though Ideally, Moncada would be the one that would be more preferable to move, but as was pointed out earlier, you wouldn't get as much back for him really at this point as I think you would with Eloy The reality is, the front office is going to have to get creative to make this team better next year. I highly doubt massive free agent spending is in the cards. Have to be honest and know how it will play out.

This is basically Hahn in a nutshell. The thing that infuriates me the most, in an interview a couple years ago, he was going on about how they weren't interested in stop gap type veteran players. (this was on the mid stages of the rebuild) How they wouldn't mortgage the future for a quick fix, etc. And then proceeded to do nothing but that in most of his trades and signings. Say what you will about Madrigal, but we had a second basemen for the future. Now we have another hole that we didn't have going in to this year. The only way they fix that is to retool using a couple pieces currently on the team.

I think he was talking about Ron....
-
I just want to point out, that I was and still am a big fan of his and hate that he was traded. My point was I think it's the organization approach, not the player.
