  1. The White Sox pick at 10 and 44 actually. Minor change but wanted to be accurate.
  2. Are we sure that Melody Hobson is involved at all? I think Ishbia will have the majority of the non Reinsdorf shares most likely after this.
  3. I'm not sure about that. Bench of Carson Kelly, Justin Turner, Jon Berti and they need a CF.
  4. Yeah I don’t know about this. It doesn’t seem like Jerry is giving up control anytime soon based on everyone I’ve talked to. Ishbia has to have some assurances but I don’t think this moves quickly.
  5. Sounds like it’ll be a bit slower but it’s indeed good news. I think many people haven’t read the articles because of cancelled Athletic subscriptions.
  6. Justin Ishbia isn’t backing out of Twins deal without some assurances that he’ll eventually assume control of the White Sox. He just wouldn’t. It makes no sense. Regardless of what the White Sox say publicly. It might not be soon though.
  7. Yeah it’s from Reifert.
  8. Definitely seems like part of it What do you mean?
  9. Not that anyone cares at this point but I've heard he'll compete for a bullpen role.
  10. His teammates seemingly don’t have any issues with him. I believe this is true but it’s still pointless. Even if you don’t care about the public blowback, there’s no upside. You can’t even flip this guy for anything. Just a pointless signing.
  11. You know what deal probably makes sense for both teams? Mike Tauchman for Alexander Canario. Now that would be fascinating.
  12. How do they acquire him though?
  13. The 40-man isn’t the issue. Carrying him on the 26-man roster is.
  14. Maybe like a Nick Nastrini or something?
  15. They’ll absolutely claim him on waivers. Someone else will probably trade for him before that though. That’s the issue. Should the White Sox be the winning bid? I’m not sure about that
  16. How though? They can't carry 6 outfielders on the roster with 13 pitchers and 13 position player requirement.
  17. It makes a lot more sense in that case but the offers need to improve greatly for that to happen I'd think.
  18. Fine but will they roster 6 outfielders? I'm sure he wouldn't be opposed but that doesn't matter. He's out of options. Canario literally needs to be on the 26-man roster or he'll be DFA again.
  19. I feel like Canario is unlikely. The White Sox would likely claim him and let him compete for a spot but you can't trade anything for him because I doubt they'd release Michael Taylor or Austin Slater for him. Canario would need to make the club out of spring training or be DFA again.
  20. I wrote about some college options for the Sox and I’m waiting on bonus pools: https://www.futuresox.net/2025/02/19/white-sox-2025-mlb-draft-notebook-2-0/
  21. It's very likely that all of these pitchers will get hurt at some point because pitchers inevitably break. Hagen Smith and Grant Taylor have both already had Tommy John though.
  22. Like Garrett Crochet?
  23. Agreed but I hate the assertion that those deals Rick Hahn signed were a mistake. They didn’t work but the alternative could’ve been those players being good and ownership being unwilling to pay market rate.
  24. Still a perfectly fine trade Yeah he’ll receive a year of service.
  25. Apparently. It’s the ideal time for it but sucks for the kid regardless. Would’ve been really limited this first season anyway.
