  1. Piece on White Sox prospect Amado Nunez http://www.minorleagueball.com/2016/7/1/12...-arizona-rookie
  2. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 2, 2016 -> 10:14 AM) I've spent the past few days rebuilding them in my head and on MLB the Show. I traded everyone expect Rodon, Eaton, Anderson. You can only do three player deals in this game so obviously I'd want more for Sale but getting a young impact bat and 2 of their top pitching prospects is a good start. Obviously this team would take its lumps but the future would be very bright. Sale, Jones to LAD for Joc Pederson, Jose De Leon and Grant Holmes Quintana, Robertson to BOS for O; Jackie Bradley Jr, 2B Yoan Moncada and OF Andrew Benintendi Abreu to STL P Alex Reyes, P Luke Weaver and C Carson Kelly Frazier to NYM 1B Dominic Smith and P Marcos Molina Melky Cabrera to TEX for SS/3B Josh Morgan and P Ariel Jurado Didn't trade Lawrie. Kept him because he's still young and playing well for us. Just want to see how everyone on here would do there's (I realize it's not actually happening but I'm doing this for curiosity and entertainment). If you are playing a video game, why don't you just keep the White Sox awesome players and add more players?
  3. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 2, 2016 -> 11:19 AM) Jerry just finding new and exciting ways to do things on the cheap. This front office is such a f***ing joke. They have done a solid job on the international market lately and have quietly had some really good drafts. I know it doesn't fit the narrative though.
  4. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 2, 2016 -> 11:09 AM) Thanks. But I wonder why. That's more than some top 20 guys got. It's because the rankings are nonsense though. Go look at the bonuses. Some guys in top 10 get 700K and guys in the 30's get $1 million. It's very subjective. I mean, Adolfo was #2 prospect according to MLB and not in BA's top 20. Amado Nunez has been studly so far and wasn't a top guy. Nobody knows.
  5. The Bulls do have to spend about $17 million to reach the salary floor. I think they'd like Rondo on a 1-2 year deal but he obviously wants more years. Bulls will be adding players. No idea who and I'd be willing to bet it's on the short term side.
  6. I wanted to the Sox to sign him strictly for the jokes honestly
  7. Bulls met with Rajon Rondo today. Bulls are supposedly interested in Dwyane Wade E'Twaun Moore went to New Orleans for 4/34
  8. Fangraphs writeup on one of the White Sox INTL signings: 24. Luis Mieses, OF, Dominican Republic (Video) Mieses has big-time power projection at a lean but well-framed 6-foot-4 and a natural, low-ball, power-hitting left-handed swing. It’s a corner-only body and skillset but there’s enough arm strength (55) to play right field and he should add at least a half grade there as he matures. He hasn’t shown the ability to square up balls in game as regularly as scouts would like to see from a corner-only prospect but Mieses just turned 16 at the end of May and is one of the younger players in the class, so there’s more tool projection here than on most of the other players. We’re probably talking about 55 or 60 raw power at maturity and as long as Mieses improves his contact skills to a fringe-average level we’re talking about a useful big leaguer.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 11:54 AM) That would be reserved for Mirotic on this board. Noah won a DPOY. There is no season of his career in which he was the best defensive player in the NBA. He has the award though.
  10. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 11:40 AM) They currently have 4 available outfielders Eaton Shuck coats Garcia They can't send him down until they are sure Cabrera is healthy, even then having only 4 outfielders is tricky. i don't think they can send him down until Jackson is ready. At that time it will be who is more effective, coats or Garcia. The bigger question is who they send down when Morneau is ready. The infielders are: Abreu Lawrie Anderson Frazier Saladino Davidson With the way the bullpen is being worked due to the starters pitching short games, I'm not sure they can send a bullpen arm down. I'd send him down and bring Leury Garcia up. At least Leury can steal a bag.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 10:18 AM) Those two years where Rose was out, Noah put the team on his back. Those teams had no business finishing where they did. Noah was, when healthy, one of, if not, the best center in the league (please note, part of that is because the league doesn't have many quality centers). Star defender, excellent rebounder and excellent passing big men (one of the best ever). Yes, outside of his passing, the rest of his offensive game was weak. He is a great passer. How many supposed Defensive Players of the Year got worked by Nene in the playoffs though?
  12. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 10:19 AM) 3 spots lower. This is so hilariously false. He was underpaid on his last contract when he signed it. He's a great passer and energy guy. I don't like paying guys $10 million that can't score though.
  13. Noah is probably the most overrated Bulls player ever, right? I mean he was a fan favorite but he always made a lot of coin for what he provided.
  14. Many on this site and over at Future Sox care way too much about strikeout rate. It's like people constantly focus on it and ignore the positives with guys. It's always, "Yeah but that K rate". Kris Bryant had a 30% K rate last year in the majors and was consistently in the mid 20's in the minors. Matt Davidson obviously isn't Kris Bryant.
  15. I thought Saladino got traded when I saw the thread title....
  16. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 12:19 PM) This season, yes. Prior to this season, his numbers would make him a #2 on a lot of teams. This is a false statement.
  17. QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 08:48 AM) I know we have spoke on this at nauseum, but does anybody else find watching the games at home a little bit boring? All those homers yesterday and I just kind of watched them.. when Hawk is out there I am screaming stretch! at the TV How about a 3 man booth?? I know that time with his kids is the reason hawk doesn't want to be there... so not plausible, but I really do want his calls , but not his banter. Leave that to Benneti I think the broadcast is refreshing actually.
  18. QUOTE (kingranch @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 05:34 AM) Jordan Stephens has thrown 5 straight quality starts with a 1.74 ERA in those starts One of the most underrated prospects in the system. Should get some Top 10 consideration for preseason list.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 01:33 AM) OK get rid of Lawrie and it'll be Davidson at third, Anderson at short, Saladino at second and Frazier DH. That's a start. Saladino and Davidson and Anderson have a fighting chance. Lawrie is going to hit 20 homers and play solid 2B. Good enough for me.
  20. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 11:05 PM) 100% thumbs up to this. To make this a regular thing, though, they'd need to bring up another infielder, and send down Coats/Sands..forget which one is in Chicago and which is in Charlotte. Davidson is coming tomorrow. I'd bring up Leury and send down Avisail as well.
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 10:28 PM) My money is on Kahnle They only have 2 bench guys. It'll be Davidson
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 09:03 PM) As far as Engel goes, it would be nice to see him put up an OPS challenging 800 in AAA. At the major league level, right now....he's more similar to Jackson stats-wise, but more reminiscent of Eaton in terms of physical tools. In most organizations, that would be a 4th outfielder. As long as he can have a respectable OBP, though (let's say 315-325), he could make it as a regular. More confident in him than May, tbh. Engel can handle CF defensively though so it vaults him a bit higher than most guys. He doesn't "have to" hit much.
  23. I would imagine that Purke goes down. I'd call up Davidson and Bourgeios or Leury and send Avi down too.
  24. Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 4m4 minutes ago As @Gregdavis537 pointed out, Matt Davidson is not in the lineup at Charlotte. He's hitting .476 last six games. Has .838 OPS in June. 2 retweets 1 like Davidson may be coming up.
  25. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 06:21 PM) They are leaking info that he has character issues or something like that. Please. His character issues are basically that he's black and plays hockey.
