Ahhhh, yes.

There’s no way anybody can convince me Moose is a good second baseman. He’s huge. I haven’t seen him play 2B, so I don’t have any data I’ll admit, but cmon. This dude is not a middle infielder. I find the idea of his defense there being even passable as quite the leap. We don’t need a low OBP third baseman- we have a budding superstar there. DH and rotational fill-in? I dunno, maybe? Can’t we do better?

I don’t think it’s a total crap shoot. Winning the most games doesn’t mean you’re the best team, especially with 76 division games, injuries etc.

I’m fine with not signing the big dogs but we can’t have 2-3 gas cans back there again. The young guys deserve to have a chance to compete and figure out how to win close games and whatnot. No Covey, no Bañuelos, no Detwiler, no Santiago...and no cheap FA versions of those guys.

Love the professional franchises dig. I’m one of the bigger FO apologists but even I hope Hahn KW or JR sees that. Like cmon dudes. Let’s be world class. Let’s be the absolute best. The envy of the league. Leave the cubs in the ducking dust once and for all. We have a core that makes theirs look like little league. Foot on the gas time.

Saying it was a failure is incorrect, but I think saying that it was completely unimpressive and cheap is arguable. A team with top 3 resources loses on purpose for years, kris Bryant falls into their lap, then they outlay almost half a billion dollars in one year to buy a World Series in a down year competitively in baseball, everyone on the pitching staff has a career year, the Indians are missing their best players, and they barely squeak one out with prospects. Then they spend another half billion to sustain playoff appearances, dwarfing all other teams in spending, draft like complete crap outside of Bryant, and now find themselves in a mess. Yawn. If your strategy is simply to outspend everybody else, it’s not that cool.
