From the White Sox ticket website - Following approvals from the State of Illinois and City of Chicago and in accordance with Phase 5 planning, the Chicago White Sox will fully open with 100 percent capacity at Guaranteed Rate Field beginning Friday, June 25. Single game tickets to the remainder of White Sox home games at Guaranteed Rate Field go on sale to the general public at noon on Tuesday, June 15.

I have a pair of Mark Teahen's authentic, game-worn halfway to St. Pat's game pants with the green pinstripes. Buddy saw them on eBay for $40 years ago and bought them for me in lieu of payment on a bet. And no, I have no idea what to actually do with a pair of another man's pants.

For those interested in tracking along at home, Ump Scorecards just released a searchable database of all games, umps, teams, etc. Very cool tool. Now you can use data when you say "we got jobbed!" https://umpscorecards.com/site-data/games.html

My ideal move is Engel up and Eaton to IL, and also Sheets up and Lamb DFA'd. We probably won't see that last part, though.
-
If Adam Eaton isn't fast enough anymore to score on that play, he loses tremendous value from his game for this team.

There's no perfect solution, obviously, but thinking about moving Vaughn to RF in September just before the playoffs makes me cringe. I keep thinking of Nelson Cruz and the route he took in RF during the David Freese Game in the 2011 World Series that cost Texas the championship. Obviously, in this last scenario Vaughn would've been benched for a defensive sub late in the game, but stands as an example of the defense vs. offense argument when it comes to the playoffs.

I fully expect Grandal to give up a passed ball run here.
-
Might've just rolled over that one, got it in the ribs?
-
Eat your heart out, Grandal stans.

This will be LaRussa's reunion game with the Cards, so of course ESPN wanted those broadcast rights. Get a bucket a ready because the on-screen graphics and forced references to his time in StL are going to be nauseating.

These stories are weird because on the one hand you get some that are "how the hell can we hit that?? That's cheating!", and then on the other hand you get "I'd prefer they use something to be able to control their pitches rather than throw 102 mph and not know where it's going". I don't know what the regulation looks like but it sounds like most people agree pitchers need *something* to help them control the ball, but also *not too much* that they're getting wiffle ball movement. The obvious course of action would be produce a better ball and enforce a ban on substances, but MLB will find a way to cock that up too.

Addressing the OF shortage (Robert Injury Spinoff)
MiddleCoastBias replied to Texsox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
No thank you. Look, I love Bryce Harper and think he would be a lot fun to watch for a couple years. But I want no part in bailing out some team of their mega deal and be left holding the (very heavy) bag for 8 more years. Look at what's happened to the Angels' flexibility the last few years and where Pujols is now. -
Jeeze, sounds like this place really needs some on-field action to talk about. Two hours to first pitch, let's do it.

Yo looks like he's having so much fun. I love this and I love this team. -

Guaranteed Yermin already had that in his closet already. 50/50 Madrigal did too and has just been ITCHING for a chance to wear it. -
LaRussa is still an ass.
-
Duplicate posts but I'll use this opportunity to say LarRussa is an ass.
-
The absolute arrogance behind his "Lance has a locker. I have an office." Wow. Way to win over the clubhouse, dripping of condescension. Fuck LaRussa forever and always.

5/19 Chicago @ Minnesota 12:10
MiddleCoastBias replied to SoxBlanco's topic in 2021 Season in Review
A win today would be great to quell things. A loss means two losses in a row with two nights off before a road trip for everyone sit around and dwell on all of the negativity. That's a lot of time to field questions from the media about the Yermin/TLR actions, how the clubhouse is, etc. Don't need that. Let's get the win, win the series, and leave Minnesota in better spirits. -
White Sox fans are to managers what Bears fans are to starting quarterbacks by week 6 of the season.
-
Gtf outta here, Tony
-
Hell yeah. It's astounding how many baseball people are Team Yermin on this one, further demonstrating how out of touch TLR is.
-
How foolish of you to not expect our boy Jake Lamb to be batting second! Mercy.
