  1. Probably little value/interest- unless a first baseman somewhere gets hurt between now and Tuesday afternoon.
  2. Highly doubtful.

Big lead, get an inning for two other pitchers.
  4. I don't like to overtly criticize a Sox player. But, Volstad has no business on this or any ML team. Especially this team.
  5. Harold, you scooped everyone. Nice.

Probably money. I have no idea what it costs to have another Rookie League team. Great question, tho.
  7. 2 points: 1) We gave Tatis $700-$800,000 bonus to sign. Why not let him play one year to see what we have? 2) I assume Paddy approved the signing, since he was in charge of Latin American scouting activities. Was he consulted on the subsequent Shields trade? What did he say? If he said "No, don't trade him" or words to that effect, then it is really on Hahn.

Or, What? Not much; just some off season criticism. If he does well at Kanny, there shouldn't be any critical comments.
  9. For whom? Mo Dubon?

Uh, two big time players from the same draft class. One got off to a blazing pro start, the other has not. If we had drafter Beer, everyone here would be excited. Madrigal has 6 weeks to show us something. A few years ago, Cubs drafted Schwarber, and he hit a ton in minors. Tough to ignore. Who did we draft? Fulmer? Greensox and I share the same paranoia.
  11. How does this happen?
  12. WRONG.
  13. Dexter Fowler with a routine strikeout. What a bad contract. Cards still owe him another $49 Million next 3 years. Great GM's are everywhere.
  14. Big enough to give him at least one year of OB.
  15. oldsox replied to DirtySox's topic in FutureSox Board
    Yes, it is.
  16. May is better.
  17. He was unranked because he had not played yet. We gave him $800,000ish bonus.
  18. Actually, you are wrong. IF, as you said, IF Tatis is a star, it will be the worst trade in Chi history. Not second worst. Remember, Brock had a couple of years with the Cubs, and Broglio had some success with Cards prior to trade. Without a crystal ball, there was a slight argument for the trade. Very slight. Of course, Broglio was hurt and Cubs were too stupid to see that, and Brock was still very young, and it is now history. Everyone knew Shields was hurt and had no chance. Tatis trade will probably surpass the Brock trade.
  19. Of course, Hahn gave an injured pitcher, Johnson, as part of the deal. Still have no idea how Preller convinced our boy to throw in Tatis, who had just received $800,000 or so from Sox as signing bonus. You can shake the dice up as much as you want, Hahn still got fleeced, baseless slander notwithstanding.
  20. Ya think he loves the game?
  21. Shields had more than one horrific start before the Tatis trade, IIRC. I'm surprised some intrepid Chicago reporter doesn't make a public issue of this trade. Or, did someone do this?

Fulmer probably gone next year if drawing board does not work.
