  1. I think it's less that and more TLR is stuck in the past when young players were way less heralded. You think La Russa is gonna let a dude go from A Ball (nevermind there was a whole season lost to a fucking pandemic) to a position he hasn't played and actually gain rhythm at the plate? Nah, that's not Tony's style. I'd honestly have more confidence in Ricky in bringing Vaughn along in LF. Constructing a lineup in general, no.
  2. - Gordon was going to be a future MVP according to every baseball analyst in the universe. - Ron was all aboard Madrigal's "Little Magician" train until he wasn't. - Luis Robert looked like a baseball god until the league adjusted, now it's on him to adjust. The conundrum right now is this: TLR is being a numb skull and not playing Vaughn in LF. Once that's solved, do this until Eloy is back: LF - Vaughn DH - Yermin 1B - Abreu Collins gets regular at-bats backing up 1B, DH, and Catcher. There's no guarantee everyone is healthy come August when Eloy returns, everyone is hitting, etc. At worst, you add Eloy's and drop ... Jake Lamb?
  3. The obvious answer is that we find Yermin a right fielder's glove.
  4. That's the abridged version.
  5. Sweet fucking lord I wish that speculated trade had gone through.
  6. Brewers: "Burnes for Yermin and Heuer?" Soxtalk:
  7. I missed the game thread discussion re: TLR sitting Vaughn, but does it remind anyone of how Ozzie had random beef with Viciedo?
  8. So you intentionally started a troll thread?
  9. Let's wait longer than one extended spring training? Fangraphs has always been the publication down on Yoelqui, like they were with Luis "Lewis Brinson" Robert.
  10. Has anyone watched the Tigers to tell me if Hunch would be better with the Sox talent?
  11. After listening to Beckham on Garfein's podcast, Beckham might be someone Madrigal should try talking to about not being hard on yourself, i.e. learn from Gordon's mistakes.
  12. Vaughn is to tray as Abreu is to ron and Madrigal is to Harold.
  13. I think the Jose Abreu from this Grantland article is probably somewhere between Paulie and Frank. Sucks we missed out on it.
  14. I mean, part of that is there really isn't a mop up duty guy in this bullpen.
  15. Well, I typo'd: Hit would belong to pitcher that started the at bat, walk belongs to pitcher finishing the at bat. I assume the strikeout would belong to the starting pitcher.
  16. Well, according to Steve: Hit would belong to pitcher that started the at bat, walk belongs to pitcher finishing the at bat. I assume the strikeout would belong to the starting pitcher. Edit: typo
  17. Vaughn is definitely reaching. Does not look like the same guy we've seen in Spring Trainings.
  18. Party boy would track with his personality, but for it to be an issue with past teams would be wild. Clearly he's worked past it and/or the Sox don't have the same concerns, but it'd be fascinating to hear the full story some day, should Yermin ever decide to tell it.
  19. Don't forget getting to face Kopech in between the two of them. Rodon actually continuing his performance from last night would make this rotation go from good to scary real fast.
  20. Paging James Fegan, those paragraphs are way too tantalizing. We may actually find out why Yermin had to wait until now to get his shot.
  21. Bravo, you two.
  22. Of all the uniforms in the world, that certainly is one.
