More evidence of Chicago media turning on Ventura
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 01:33 AM) I'm really down on Robin after today's game and this series. You guys that despise Ozzie ... he never would be this laid back in search of getting back in the race. Robin doesn't pitch Robertson. WTF with that? Four innings to Jennings? Robin basically conceded ANOTHER game. No urgency with this guy or this team. Letting Jennings pitch another inning was suicide for the White Sox team on Saturday. Robin also pitches Danks and Shark in the DH instead of Sale/Shark. No sense of urgency to tell the Royals "for once we are going to f***ing kick your ass." They save Sale for "another day." Very sad. This team has no competitiveness and it starts with Robin. You guys asked to get rid of one guy who would go down screaming/fighting/clawing if the Royals came to town and he was in charge: Ozwald Guillen!!!! 2007, 2011

White Sox call up Tyler Saladino
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 18, 2015 -> 05:47 PM) I am sure they are trying to trade Connor as we speak rather than just designating him, but I can't imagine anyone is beating down the door. Considering they got some moderately interesting names in Blackmar, Chalas and Almonte for Beckham and De Aza, I'm sure they can find an interesting A-ball flyer.

White Sox call up Tyler Saladino
QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 18, 2015 -> 03:56 PM) I'd rather DFA Beckham than Gillaspie. Gillaspie a better pinch hitter, better hitter, hits LH, etc. He's not great defensively but Saladino and Beckham are too similar. I just want to see how Saladino handles the league once they have a scouting report on him. Argument against: Neither are great hitters, Beckham is a better runner and vastly better defensively. Shuck and Bonifacio provide lefty hitting off the bench. Conor just doesn't make sense unless he's starting.

JB Shuck
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 18, 2015 -> 05:31 PM) People tend to forget that Shuck finished 5th in 2013 AL ROY voting- he hit .293 for the Angels. 2014 was rough for him, as he hit .145 in just 110 ABs. This year, he's at .288 in limited playing time. He's always getting us clutch hits, but he's stuck behind Eaton, Cabrera, and Garcia in the outfield. Does he deserve more playing time? I'd start rotating him.

7/18 vs KC Royals
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 18, 2015 -> 05:28 PM) Really hating not having that extra man in the pen right now. My guess is Hahn is seeing if he can get an A ball pitcher for Conor.

Rehab trio update
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 18, 2015 -> 03:10 PM) Looking more and more like Crain will never pitch again. I have a feeling he's going to become a pitching coach in the org.

THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 11:37 PM) You could be right, but I see Saladino being sent down. Conor was a golden boy entering this season. He was supposed to be OUTSTANDING for us this season. Can't see them pulling the plug. Wait, what? 3B was targeted as one of the glaring holes. And I had more confidence in Conor than most.

THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 11:30 PM) For once a guy is off to a good start stat wise in his debut with the Sox! Of course Abreu last year killed it from the start, but usually guys suck out of the gate with the Sox. But he'll probably be sent down because you can't send down Beckham and they won't want to admit failure on Boni and eat the cash. Who else could get sent down? Maybe DL somebody. You got to admit, Flowers and Danks are not as bad as many think. As far as the thread topic ... four runs in 2 games?? Sure you'll take a split. Of course the Royals only got four runs in two games as well. They'll take the split. The writing is very clearly on the wall for Conor.

THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 10:50 PM) I wasn't able to watch the game, can a brother get some Saladino highlights from the day? 2-4 with two singles at third in game one. 1-2 with a sacrifice at SS in game two. Got caught stealing on a perfect throw by Perez, but had a good jump. Played good D at both positions. Nearly beat out a throw at first.

7/17 vs KC Royals Doubleheader
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 10:14 PM) Darn guys, you made me look up some Danks outings. July 3 vs. Balt: 7 innings, NO runs. June 17 vs. Pitt: 7 innings, 5 measly hits, three runs. a bit farther back May 31 vs. Houston: nine innings, 0 runs. May 16 vs. Oak: 7 innings, 3 hits, 2 runs. May 10 vs Cincy: 7 inns, 6 hits one run. Now coupled with tonight, 3 of his last 5 outings were DANDY. Seriously, he's no Phil Humber; he's no Carroll. He's not batting practice, folks. He's still coming off that injury. Just cause he makes a TON of money don't hate on this player. Then if you go back two more starts, it's only three of his last seven. Then four in his last 10.

7/17 vs KC Royals Doubleheader
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 10:04 PM) How come nobody ever cites the lines in his good starts? Because when combined with the rest of his starts, it still looks really bad. But tonight, he battled. I still think he'd be best served as the long man in the pen, but tonight he turned in a good one.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 09:48 PM) Isn't Montas like a double A pitcher? Eh, so was Q. It's not all that out of the ordinary. Also, thank you Rios!

It was a good throw by Perez. Saladino got a decent jump, he just probably listened to the coaching staff.

Frankie Montas to join Sox for Double Header Friday
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 02:55 PM) No you can't. Rondon is much better defensively than Carlos Sanchez and he does it at SS And much, much worse offensively. It's sad. Would have loved to see his glove in the bigs.
