  1. That would be 75 wins using the Sox yardstick Predicting the future is also a crapshoot. Then there's also the TJ victims that postpones 16mos. Plus it's still a weak farm system only improved by another organization's talent. If they could only solve that.
  2. It's been that way since I've watched baseball.
  3. All for the purpose of trading This article makes me think they are catching up to the rest of the major league teams.
  4. Wasn Was he the one of Foul Territory praising Getz trade deadline last year? AJ had to bring some reality in that. BTW hopefully they avoid the multi team deal. One is guaranteed to get burned. It wont be hard to figure who will get burned. It's always the organization that is bad at scouting, development, and drafting.

Well you can't do the Rays model and survive in the NL.

This reply would be more suited for Reinsdorf

That is also not a given.

More so in scouting and development. Those are the real free agents'. Imagine trying to pull those people away from the consistent winning organizations.

The teams bad at scouting and development follow this formula. You can even convince those fans that it works. I never understood the draft pick envy either. Baseball has a far more larger margin of error than the NFL or NBA. Winning and losing seems to be a habit. The Dodgers seem to have more than their share of injuries yet they win. There are no surrender trades.

That Reinsdorf died. At one time the Sox had untouchable prospects

Fantasy - not sure how you would even think this would be possible
  12. I think it is better labeled as existing. Waiting for them to draft a position player instead of future pitching trade pieces. We are easily impressed with the prospects not raised by the Sox. I'd love for them to draft one that becomes a superstar but that will be a curse if JR are still around because that will be a trade piece.

Seems more like fantasy than reality.

Devers is kind of an attitude problem. Not sure that's a PR move for this team. Sox don't have anything to trade either.
  15. Not watching the game but am I the only one finding it impressive that a Sox catcher scores from 1st on a double?
  16. Rankings are extremely overrated. We shoulda figured that out by now.
  17. That's not the Sox way, I wouldn't be shocked if Vargas is out of baseball in a few years. That just seems to be the pattern. Colson could be the next Collins or Vaughn. Just smoke and mirrors.
  18. That formula would work if you are an organization that seems to have a quality farm.
  19. LOL the habitual losing formula. It's not about keeping and trading but the same losing organizations can't dig their way out of poor scouting. It's like why trade for no level prospects when you equally draft them. Always try that .0001% chance that never works. The successful organizations are always quite aware how bad another team is run and always offer fools gold. We live in the age of brittle pitcher. It is also needed by non contenders. The mental illness of trade frenzy. Civale is a rental either way. Trade him for someone who will never exist in MLB. It does make sense to do that. The reality is the TJ virus sets an organization back 16 months.
  20. We never really but will always buy into some tweet based on performance. We can't seem to accept the fact that maybe he wasn't any good.
  21. to rebuild the rebuild of the rebuild #MakeBirminghamBetter
