  1. That's always the Sox MO. They don't look at anything else.
  2. caps can't replace good scouting and development. The same teams will still be on top. The only cap should be a minimum that owners must spend.
  3. It's not like they lost to a 5 era pitcher.
  4. Not really. Let's account for games not missed. I think it wasn't the best draft choice for someone who is not very mobile and plays 1st.
  5. He'll got to another team and have one positive outcome like going 1/4 and the kneejerk reactions begin on what a poor decision. Just how low has this fan base stepped down over Gavin Sheets. Enough of the sheet already.
  6. Post of the week!!!!!!!
  7. Could use one more Vargas. Fool me once......
  8. I would think it is more about personnel
  9. I would think Colson will eventually play 3rd. Ge was working there in the Fall League As for Vargas I have no clue why they would keep him only just as an attempt that maybe that trade wasn't horrible.
  10. Maybe the Sox could trade Vargas instead of Getz trying not to look dopey on that trade.
  11. I think that was a $13 lawn ticket admission.
  12. If they can't scout and develop position players........they will be trading them and of course they will draft pitchers and let the cycle repeat.
  13. Not matter the honesty of this I can only treat it as sarcasm.
  14. It probably wont even after my taking my last breath.
  15. Apples and oranges.
  16. Other teams do this. Long term contracts are a higher risk these days with pitchers. The economics of reality hasn't reached MLB. Amazing the the salaries of a guy who performs every 5 days compared to a position player. You can move a position player around get make them useful but a pitcher....demoted to the pen making 25M...
  17. I'm trying to figure out where "big league ready" was in that. The FL is fools gold since it's basically all levels of farm systems.
  18. This is the formula practiced by the small market habitual losing teams. They stay that way ignoring their weakness at drafting and developing or unwilling to spend any money. The Sox are guilty on both accounts.

I'm still thinking of divorcing myself from the team. It's hard to do. The only victory I could accept is if Reinsdorf no longer owns the team.
  20. That will be the requirement for minor league pitchers someday,
  21. UNLESS you watch other teams
  22. Copy and paste year after year
  23. Not a fan of drafting a 1B not named Frank Thomas. Vaughn has no speed to play another position for swipe a base. It's the typical KW pick hoping offense will ignore the other weaknesses. Here's hoping Getz will make better picks instead of picks from other farm systems.
  24. Maybe its roster filler so when they bring AAA player up they don't have to push AA players in.
