  1. There might be more after the postseason.
  2. Does a fan have that kind of patience? Maybe 5 years? They could be like the Royals and have 2 years of success surrounded by s%*#. Rebuilds don't always work compared to retooling. Short success vs. sustained success. Imagine if Getz were in charge of these other small market teams, what players would be traded. That's a fearful thing.
  3. Unfortunately those people don't last forever. TLR's success was also he brought certain coaches with him. Katz is well liked because he is int analytics, but isn't basically every pitching coach like that? Do you trust him with the upcoming arms. The funniest thing I heard was getting Fedde's pitching coach from Korea. Another one was put an ad in the paper Wanted the best hitting coach.
  4. Only to get more dead weight. See Vargas. Your most valuable trade piece was Fedde and look what they got. Trading good to get better down the road is a myth for this organization. They can't identify and develop talent so what makes you think they can to do with other team's prospects. Then you have to look how much a good prospect will unlearn when they get in the Sox farm system. The Sox are decent with pitching prospects but those guys only work 5 days a week. I think most teams are stingy with their prospects. You look at all of the injuries in baseball and you need to bring up a not ready yet player who hopefully wont make things worse. I'm not sure how one would call a good offseason unless you are into #MakeBirminghamBetter I think they will have another chance to break their own record. Sizemore is the perfect guy because he is happy to work in baseball.
  5. Sometimes other quality players compliment other players in the lineup. You can one stud hitter and all a pitcher has to do is put them on base.
  6. That formula of the habitual losing small market organization. I consider the Chicago Reinsdorfs a small market team. Getz and his "Royals envy" is the only thing he accomplished. Habitual losing small market. Every owner cheap ass owner tries to adopt the Rays model. Then you have to Padres trying to overthrow the Dodgers. You are also not going to find a real manager wanting anything to do with this organization. I doubt Skip want anything to do with the Reds either.
  7. I consider an elderly person getting a DUI just as bad.
  8. Maybe one of those teams that think spending more money on a manager than a player is gonna be the difference.
  9. They are a very solid organization but the Ray's model doesn't work for them except other than being "competitive" The word doesn't mean s%*# anymore. There's plenty of "competitive" teams but after the trade deadline they disappear. There does seem to be teams very cautious of trading their prospects especially fielders. Offense was down this year.
  10. Bill Veeck scouted him long before that.
  11. I get this feeling he'll live past the century mark
  12. It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. People just want to hold on to those myths. Sox aren't the only organization with those myths.
  13. It's the Sox we are tallking about. Collins, Vaughn, Madrigal make a big difference. You fail to see the root of the problem.
  14. LOL baseball fans treating draft picks like it's the NFL. Look at the Sox previous picks. It's like drafting Ryan Leaf an Rickey Williams over again. Stud pitchers are nice but only good every 5th day.
  15. I bet they challenge their record next year. I think most fans have nothing against the players because they were never good at baseball. We just want Jerry to feel the pain which probably wont happen. Cutting payroll for 2025 is an example of once again he's into never having a winning culture.. He's isn't alone in this. Baseball has more than its share of bad ownership.
  16. I suggest Getz not doing anymore trading until there is better evaluation.
  17. Bench players for White Sox. Other organizations would be farm system fillers.
  18. That's the Getz plan with all players. But defensively Vargas falls short
  19. Just think you can watch the great Barons on MiLB for the next 5+ years.
  20. Prospect/farm system rankings are overrated. Look up any bust the Sox have. BTW what was Vargas' rating. They are lottery picks. If you can't scout and develop in your own system trying to fix that fault by using other farm systems doesn't really work. It's high risk that yet so many can't see it rarely works. Somehow we think this organization is going to be competitive in a few years What does that really mean? The Pirates and Reds are always competitive until mid July. We've seen that under Williams.
  21. I think teams are holding on to their prospects because there are far more injuries.
  22. what is a casual fan? I'm thinking these are the ones least for at least a decade.
  23. I don't think he wants to be traded.
  24. I want 2 unicorns
