White Sox Bryce Harper FA pitch spoiler?
So the Sox setup a leak (and removed the tweet) with Harper #34 across a banner and put a jersey on the Jordan statue (though kept this to themselves) all to trick Sox fans into thinking they tried to sign Harper? C’mon, that’s ridiculous .

Corbin has become top target
They may feel that the SP market is going to move faster than Machado/Harper. If they think they can get this done faster, then I’m ok with it - although Corbin does worry me a little for that price. I don’t think signing him will remove them from trying on the big two, might help their chances of selling either of them on the team. Going to be a hell of an offseason with all these rumors every other day!

Morosi: White Sox interested in "both Machado and Harper"
Harper is just as good a fit, if not potentially better than Machado. He's a power bat from the left side, and has amazing OBP instincts. That is something this team hasn't had since Thome left. It also allows the Sox to deal from their glut of OF prospects to further improve other areas of need. Either way, I'll gladly welcome either of the two, haha

Heyman says White Sox interested in Nelson Cruz
This should be the only reason to bring him in, but I really want nothing to do with Cruz. Keep him away if at all possible. He's entering his age 38 season and already showed slight signs of regression this past season.

Rosenthal: “rival exec believe white Sox will spend big”
At this point, I doubt he does. He does have a source, but keeps things closer to the chest after Hahn gave him crap for leaking moves (I think it was the Shields deal?).

Sox sign Eloy’s brother?
Sox also signed Andy LaRoche...

Totally agree. Depends on what the Yankees are asking for, but he's exactly the type of player the Sox should look to bring in to the rotation.

Sox and analytics
I was gonna say... the Sox are teaching spin rate to their minor league pitchers to make their stuff more effective. A last place, stat heavy team wouldn’t be doing that.

James Shields
I'd do the buyout. If the Sox are going to add to the rotation, I'd rather then take that money and put it towards a younger, better option for the rebuild. I know signing Patrick Corbin is a long shot, but he's the type of guy I'd like to see the Sox invest in rather than pull a Miguel Gonzalez with Shields for 2019.

Kopech had TJS on September 18th
I was thinking about this the other day. He did start throwing the curveball again earlier in the year. I wonder if that had something to potential cause this to fully come around. I know that pitch generally is supposed to be hard on the arm, so I wonder if he'll continue throwing it once he comes back.

What do you expect from Rodon, Lopez and Giolito in 2019?
Rodon 6.5 - The lack of K's really worries me, because he's always been a high strikeout guy. I'm willing to give him a pass and chalk it up to being off for so long with the injury he had at the start of the year. He really needs to step up big time and prove he can be the leader of this staff while staying healthy all year. Lopez, 6.5 - I'm pretty sure I picked Lopez to be the Sox biggest disappointment earlier in the year, so I'm pretty happy with the results he's shown this season. I think he's proving he can stick in the rotation, but near the back end. Giolito, 5.5 - I honestly don't know what to make of him yet, but it's nice to see him have moments of success after such a abysmal start. He reminds me so much of Gavin Floyd.

The Hawk Harrelson tribute thread
His passion for the game and the Sox was the best thing about him. When the Sox lost, he suffered that loss with you. You don't see that anymore in announcing these days.

9/21- Cubs vs Sox, 3:10
This would be awesome.

2018 White Sox catch-all thread
Would love to see him walk a bit more before I think we can feel comfortable with him as a long term option for the contention window. He honestly reminds me a bit of pre-2018 left-handed version of Adam Duvall right now. That has value, but not as a main 3, 4, 5 spot in the lineup.

Latest Fangraphs Prospect Rankings
Yea, plus I think they were high on Madrigal heading into the draft as well. I remember reading he was the best pure hitter in the draft, though that may have been from other sites too. Totally disagree about Cease though.

Moncada leading MLB in OOZ strike 3s
Personally, I would have taken those 49 AB's and broken it up by Moncada's AVG, K% (when swinging), and BB% then added it into his slash line. There's no way all those calls would result in walks.

White Sox Baseball Wednesday Night 9-12-18 at Kansas City
They said at the beginning of the broadcast he had a sore hip or something.

Making the Sox the class of the minors
This right here is a huge reason teams don't make the effort. I feel bad for the minor leaguers that struggle, but if I was in the MLB teams' shoes, I'd operate the exact same way. From a business perspective, there's too many guys that simply will not pan out to justify the cost.

FS: Focus on Spencer Adams, with quotes
Really would like to see him succeed. Seems like I've been following him forever. That K/9 rate though... ?
