  1. I actually think Moncada is more flippable than Eloy. Moncada has very good glove at 3B, and could easily be an attractive option for a team in the pennant race that doesn't want to break the bank on a big time deadline acquisition - especially if the Sox kick in enough cash to cover his buyout (which is 100% going to happen regardless of where he finishes the season). Eloy can't run, can't field, and can't stay healthy enough to make his bat worth it. I'd be stunned if he isn't bought out of his deal as well when the season ends.
  2. I think they look at the flippable guys as already being on the team: Moncada and Eloy If either of them have a remotely productive year they are gone. I think Getz wants to totally gut this team and reshape it into something else.
  3. Absolutely. I'd be down to see what that kid can do.
  4. https://x.com/byrobertmurray/status/1753491203428159539?s=46&t=YB66BSH8MdsOmPwZtTqy1w This doesn’t make much sense to me unless it’s a MiLB deal.
  5. Getz had the upper hand. Not anymore. You’re asking Cease to pitch like he did in 2022. Realistically, if that is his ceiling and 2023 is his floor, he will likely end up somewhere in the middle. Now you have added risk of injury and his team control decreasing by the day. I don’t see a scenario where his value is going to magically increase to the level that Getz is asking.
  6. Cease would have brought back more than what Burnes did simple for the extra year of control. I personally think Hall is a high leverage RP, I don’t see him starting long term. I think the best get in the whole deal is the draft pick. For one year of Burnes, I don’t think it’s that terrible of a return.
  7. I don't think it happens. I'm convinced moving Cease was required to clear $8M for any additional FA.
  8. Good luck digging out of that hole Getz. You overplayed your hand.
  9. Not really, we're roughly 2 weeks away from ST starting up. I really don't like how we may end up banking on Cease building up his value when the chances of his value remaining the same or decreasing are more likely to occur.
  10. I'm a getting a little concerned he didn't play it correctly when its all said and done. I am very nervous about keeping Cease into the season.
  11. A baseball is nothing compared to the bullets we have to dodge in the stands.
  12. I’d be surprised. He can’t field anymore, and the Sox have DH locked up. Plus I don’t think the Sox have that much money to sign him or even beat other teams interested in him.
  13. You might need to double check his Fangraph's page. Adell is atrocious in the OF. He's the RH version of Sheets.
  14. I want nothing to do with Adell. We have enough bad players on this team as it is.
  15. https://x.com/tydanegonzalez/status/1752030158557462572?s=46&t=YB66BSH8MdsOmPwZtTqy1w Seems like something might be brewing. No idea if it’s Cease.
  16. Only thing I’d worry about is Duval’s wrist. He’s broken it twice over the last few seasons. At his age, he may not be very durable or be able to get through the whole season.
  17. I think any additional addition via FA will come with Cease being traded with his salary going towards whoever is added. This year seems twofold to me: 1) Getz is clearly trying to reshape this team to be something different. Will his vision be successful? Not this year, but once you jettison Eloy and Moncada’s deals, you are looking at a super low payroll for 2025 that should give him flexibility to add actual impact FA. 2) Obviously payroll is slashed from the last few years, so they probably have it at a point that they can recoup their financial losses with the massive drop in attendance. We all know how Jerry operates, so it is what it is. Im not expecting much for this upcoming season. With the way the draft pick falls outside of the top 10, it’s kind of pointless to root for losses. I just want to see better fundamental play and see some success from anyone who will be around 2025 and beyond.
  18. Woo's savant page is a thing of beauty: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/bryan-woo-693433?stats=statcast-r-pitching-mlb
  19. Even if Cease is traded, they likely have enough arms that can fill the rotation. Granted, the quality is extremely questionable but its not like Wood would have been a risk-free option either.
  20. Did he say this on air this AM? Would be huge if true. I think this would be great for the Sox.
  21. Tonight was a good time. Very unique. We pretty much had the whole museum to ourselves, players were scattered throughout, and you got get a pic or autograph if you wanted. Got to talk to Sheets, Eder, Soroka, Kittle, DeJong and Montgomery. I’d say for what the Sox have offered season ticket holders in the past, this was one of the better events pre-Covid, despite all the beer running out in the first 45 min. I drink wine too so it was whatever.
  22. Pius is going to be 33 this year and hasn’t been in the majors or minors since 2019. There is nothing here that would make me think he would be a good addition.
  23. I don’t think that was the intention, but it certainly seems like someone out of their depth is running that account the last week or so. I’ve never heard of stylizing a tweet like that. Usually your accompanying graphic or video should handle the creative side of things.
  24. I’ll be there. I’m not entirely sure what to expect, but I do know private events at the Field Museum are quite nice.
