  1. Certainly an interesting strategy the Cubs are taking this offseason.
  2. $11M for a guy that will make roughly 10 starts for you. Yuck.
  3. Eh, you’d be surprised. But it wouldn’t happen for such smaller companies. The nationwide brands will always be able to beat it.
  4. I’d be shocked if it isn’t named after a company. Naming rights are worth too much to pass up, especially for a new stadium. Sox fans will find their own name for it though. I like the seven-eight personally, but having something like “Wintrust Field at the 78” wouldn’t be the worst thing IMO.
  5. Joey Ortiz was brought in at halftime and gave them a pep talk.
  6. Sanchez might be the one of the most overhyped prospect of the Hahn era. Literally everything they initially said about him was false.
  7. The massive increase to the overall value of the team is likely his motivation for this.
  8. Thanks for the insult? Maybe you've never worked for a company that runs things half-assed backwards, or maybe you're a yes-man yourself, but do yourself a favor and look up the top reasons good employees leave companies. It's not conspiracy.
  9. You know what they say about top talent leaving? Jerry can be loyal all he wants, but the way the Sox are run forces the talented individuals to seek out better opportunities and take them. That's why you have all these company yes men in the organization - they wouldn't be employed this long for other organizations.
  10. I think they are tapped financially. It’s pretty obvious the budget Getz has to work with is non-existent. If you move Cease, that would give them $8-9M to work with, and then I thing you’re right - we might see a guy like Grichuk brought in.
  11. With all the 4A guys brought in so far, I'd bet that the starting RF is already here we just don't know it yet.
  12. Worded this way, I would totally agree with you. Guess we will find out if he has what it takes in Toronto.
  13. Huh, that's certainly something.
  14. I'd be perfectly fine if they wanted to jump in front of the O's and get Cease.
  15. Yes. Y2Jimmy0 isn't making s%*# up.
  16. The Sox literally don't view him as a starter.
  17. A team in the Sox current position don’t need long term, high-priced relievers. When the Sox signed Graveman they were in a totally different state.
  18. Apparently Tim’s wife Bria is pregnant per her Instagram. What a weird and odd situation.
  19. Actually makes a lot of sense... They clearly zapped him brain with that pen thing. Explains a lot.
  20. I think you’re the one that needs to look up the prerequisites for how one earns a save…
  21. He might have an inside track on the closer job if Santos isn’t ready.
  22. I’d agree, but it also probably seems that way because both Nastrini and Leasure are much closer to the majors than Quero and Bush.
  23. SS and CF are the only 'premium' positions. He's not wrong. 2B is where those who can't actually play SS due to average D, lack of an arm, or their bat is too weak end up. 3B is where SS go whose body fills out too much and they lose the ability to react quick enough for SS.
  24. I think that makes him an even worse GM than many thought. He was with the Sox for how many years? And he still couldn't operate within Jerry's budget or rules or whatever you want to call it. I hate how Getz was handed the position, but I am hopeful that he at least can operate within the restrictions Jerry imposes. We really won't know for at least another year or so though because this roster is largely still the leftovers from Hahn and KW.
  25. Colas did make a post insinuating there was frustration about not being promoted, but he never threatened to quit. That was Mercedes.
