  1. Wasn't Keith Law a pro scout for the Blue Jays when they were f***ing terrible? If he is a top-tier talent evaluator, wouldn't/shouldn't he be doing it professionally for a major league team, even at the executive level given his age/experience?
  2. How long until we see Rodon towel drills?
  3. If I were LaTroy Hawkins, I'd keep my mouth shut. Tommy Kahnle looks like the kind of guy who could OHKO.
  4. QUOTE (shipps @ May 17, 2017 -> 02:08 PM) Why do I remember Hawkins being in the middle of turmoil at a couple of the stops he had? Hawkins was a hot mess when he pitched for the Cubs.
  5. QUOTE (StrykerSox @ May 15, 2017 -> 09:40 PM) The "Frank Thomas decline" is bulls***, and only even seems like a decline when compared to his 1991-1997 seasons, which were on par with Ted Williams. ^^^^^
  6. QUOTE (Dizzy Sox @ May 3, 2017 -> 03:53 PM) Useless/stupid trivia question to keep this timely thread alive...Adam Dunn had a bit part in the in the movie Dallas Buyers Club. Anyone remember who was the last Sox player to appear in a major Hollywood movie prior to that? (Or at least the last one I can remember?) Frank Thomas, 1992.... "Mr Baseball" He played the "big time prospect" that the Yankees wanted to call up, so they released Tom Selleck's character, so he went to Japan to play. Not a bad movie if you can ignore the often cringeworthy "love story" undercurrent.
  7. Tank for Beer!
  8. Brendan Ryan, what a piece of garbage. Throw your bat and spit at the umpire because you struck out to end a perfect game. Like that theoretical walk would have meant anything for your team's success...
  9. Why not activate him with the walking boot still on? I can't imagine he'd hit worse than Jacob May, walking boot and all.
  10. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Mar 6, 2017 -> 11:09 AM) Sox do present a good opportunity to break the mlb roster sooner, rather than later I could see the Sox being willing to spend to get Robert if they think he is an impact talent They certainly have nothing to lose by signing him. *fingers crossed*
  11. His closest friend is the almighty dollar. Whatever deal offers the most cheddar is where he'll sign.
  12. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 12:03 PM) Q posting something to twitter for the first time in about a year a few minutes ago. I was pretty nervous about what it was going to translate too thinking it might be some breaking news but it was just him wishing happy birthday to his cute one year old daughter. Happy Birthday, little Q!
  13. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 01:13 PM) Garrit Cole is just about to enter his first year of arbitration and won't become a FA until the after the '19 season is over. Now is probably a great time to trade him then.
  14. Robertson and Quintana next? What if the Rick Hahn rebuild plan ™ was to use what little assets were in the system when he took over to stock up on veterans, suck for a while, then sell them off in one big shocking off-season?????
  15. Rick Hahn is still the General Manager, right?
  16. Without knowing anything about anything... and not googling a scouting report or video.... why is Moncada the top prospect in baseball? His MiLB stats are very "meh" Just asking as a naive ignorant meatball fan. I'll hang up and listen to your response.
  17. Victimized? By the RedEye? Or by the White Sox?? I don't feel victimized at all by the RedEye. Everything they said is true. If anything I feel victimized by my favorite sports team.
  18. Just tell Kenny what a genius baseball savant he is, the his lips get loose.
  19. Seemed like a different dynamic to the Dodgers deal too, with Frazier involved as well.
  20. QUOTE (Baron @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 07:15 PM) Yep we would need Turner...I'll have to look at his defensive stats later...but from a quick glance though they werent good. Was Turner the guy that the Nationals drafted with the pick they got from Adam Dunn signing with the White Sox?
  21. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 01:15 PM) Would it really "gut" their system though? It could, if Rick Hahn gets his asking price... based on what was the reported return for Sale. Though, those could have been very false reports.
  22. As a Dodgers fan, this sort of trade seems to go against their new organizational philosophy set forth by the new ownership group. Build a strong farm system to feed the Major League team, make trades to fill holes on the ML roster and not "Blockbuster" trades that gut the farm system (so to speak) ...such as this would seem. #shrug As a fan of both teams, if this trade goes down, I can have my cake and eat it too
